Definitions
- the invention relates to a packaging carrier, in particular for bottles, which are arranged in rows of two, made from a one-piece cardboard blank or the like.Foldable material, with a top wall, hinged side walls and bottom sections arranged thereon, and with the two other edges of the Front wall hinged front wall flap and with front walls, which are each formed from two front wall wings hinged to the side walls.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object of providing a packaging carrier of the type mentioned at the outset which is largely light-tight and, moreover, is simple to manufacture and erect.
- the end walls produced in this way are closed by simply pressing them in and automatically remain in the closed position due to the tensioning of the end wall parts that occurs.
- the packaging carrier can be made light-tight by appropriately dimensioning the end wall sections.
- the locking devices which lock the end wall wings to one another, are each formed from a cutout and a projection which engage with one another. This interlocking is achieved without a complicated erection mechanism by simply folding the end panel wings. The resulting cardboard tension prevents the locking mechanism from opening unintentionally.
- the locking devices which connect the end wall flaps to the end wall flaps are formed from lugs which are molded onto the upper edges of the end wall flaps. These lugs are also placed behind the end wall flaps by simply spanning, which further secures the end walls.
- the side winch has an upper section which is inclined upwards and inwards and if the end wall wings are articulated on the lower sections of the side walls and have a boundary edge which, when the carrier is erected, is essentially parallel to the boundary edge of the upper section of the side wall and thereby covers the corresponding front wall flap, while the lugs formed on the front wall wings engage behind the front wall flaps.
- this configuration also achieves tight packaging.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that end wall flaps are articulated on the top wall, the lateral boundary edges of which, when the carrier is erected, diverge from above and run essentially parallel to the upper sections of the side walls.
- a blank made of cardboard or another foldable material for producing a packaging carrier the blank being essentially rectangular and divided into a plurality of surface sections by a plurality of longitudinal and transverse creasing lines, the top surface portion containing the top wall and the front wall flap and on the Cover wall, the side walls or the upper end wall sections of the side wall section sections are articulated, which also contain the end wall wings articulated on the side walls and wherein the bottom surface sections contain the bottom sections and a partition wall, according to the invention is characterized in that locking devices are provided on the end wall wings are which fix the end wall wings to each other and to the respective end wall tabs.
- Such a blank is particularly simple and efficient to produce and can be erected with the usual machines to form a packaging carrier without any particular effort.
- a nose is formed on the upper boundary edge of each end wall wing, which in the erected state of the blank engages behind the lower edge of the end wall tabs.
- the locking devices for locking the two end wall wings belonging together are formed from mutually engaging projections and cutouts.
- 12 denotes a blank which is intended for producing a packaging carrier for placing beverage bottles.
- the blank 12 is made of cardboard and is divided by creasing lines 14, 15, 16 and 17 into a top surface section 18, side wall surface sections 20 and 22 articulated thereon and bottom surface sections 23 and 24.
- the two bottom surface sections 23 and 24 are arranged at opposite ends of the blank 12, a partition 25 being formed on the bottom surface section 24 and being connected to it by means of two bending lines 26.
- the top surface section 18 contains the actual top wall 72, in which two rows of circular cutouts 27 are arranged, through which the necks of the bottles can be pushed.
- the dimensions of the two side wall sections 28, 30 in the longitudinal direction of the blank correspond to the height of the main part of the bottles.
- the transverse dimension of the bottom surface sections 23, 24 corresponds to the bottom dimension of the rows of bottles.
- the two bottom surface sections 23, 24 have a larger dimension in the longitudinal direction of the blank than the bottles set, so that an overlap of these two sections is made possible.
- the bottom surface section 24 has a rectangular shape and extends between the crease line 17 and the outer edge 33 and has cutouts 34 which are intended for receiving locking tabs 46. Each of these cutouts 34 is approximately U-shaped with a boundary line 35, the opening of which points into the interior of the bottom surface section 24.
- this boundary line 35 there are short incisions 36 which diverge from one another and between which extends a connecting line 37 which runs at a distance from the base line 38 of the U-shaped boundary line 35.
- the other bottom surface section 23 is divided by a transverse crease line 40, which runs parallel to the crease line 14.
- the actual bottom section 42 extends between these two creasing lines 14 and 40, on which a locking section 43 is formed via the bending line 40.
- the bending line 40 is interrupted by a plurality of short, C-shaped incisions 44 which protrude into the bottom section 42.
- the C-shaped incisions 44 form locking tabs 45 which engage in the cutouts 34 and are supported on their base line.
- the locking tabs 46 are arranged at a distance from the locking tabs 45 and contain a constriction 47 which essentially corresponds to the width of the cutouts 34 at their inner connecting lines 37.
- the crease line 17 is interrupted by three openings 50, which prevent the movement of the bottles in the packaging. The distances between these openings 50 are determined by the width of the bottles and correspond to the transverse distances of the locking tabs 45, 46.
- the inner cutting edge 52 of the openings 50 is circularly curved, the center of the circle being arranged toward the top wall.
- This inner cutting edge 52 divides a transverse bending line 53, which runs parallel to and at a distance from the crease line 17, a narrow surface 54 lying between the two lines 17, 53, which forms an inclined bottom section when the packaging carrier is in the erected state.
- the bending line 14 is interrupted by further openings 56, which correspond to the openings 50 and are delimited inwards by circularly curved cutting edges 57.
- These cut edges 57 subdivide a transverse bending line 58 which is arranged at a distance from and parallel to the crease line 14, thereby forming a narrow surface 60 which, when the packaging carrier is erected, forms a sloping bottom section.
- Subdivision lamps 61 are punched out in each of the two bottom surface sections 23, 24 and are folded in between two bottles in a row.
- a bending line 62 divides a narrow strip 63 from the outside of the partition wall 25, as a result of which a double layer can be folded there.
- a pair of C-shaped incisions 64 are provided for fixing the folded strip 63 (FIG. 5).
- End wall wings 64, 65, 87, 88 are formed on both sides of the two side wall surface sections 20 and 22 and are connected to the side walls 28 and 30 via bending lines 66, 67 and 90, 92.
- the bending lines 66, 67 and 90, 92 converge slightly towards the end of the blank.
- the end wall wings 64, 65 and 87, 88 are essentially rectangular and have a width which is slightly larger than the diameter of the bottles, as a result of which the two cooperating end wall wings 64, 87 and 65, 88 overlap when the packaging carrier is erected .
- the outer edges, designated 73, 74, of the two end wall wings 64, 65 are interrupted by narrow projections 75, 76.
- the outer edges 73, 74 of the end wall wings 64, 65 converge towards one another, as a result of which they run vertically in the erected state.
- the cut edges 77 and 78 form the bottom edges of the end wall wings 64 and 65 and extend outside the intersection of the transverse bending line 58 with the longitudinal crease lines 66 and 67.
- the cut is provided in the region of the cut edges 77 and 78 with cutouts 80, 82, whereby the end wall wings 64, 65 correspond to the course of the sloping bottom surface 60.
- the upper boundary edges 83, 84 of the end wall wings 64, 65 extend outside of the crease line 15 and run convergingly with the cut edges 77, 78.
- Locking lugs 85, 86 are arranged at the outer end of the upper boundary edges 83, 84.
- the other side wall section 22 corresponds essentially to the side wall section 20 described above and contains a side wall 30 and a pair of end wall wings 87 and 88.
- the end wall wings 87, 88 are articulated to the end wall 30 via the bending lines 90 and 92.
- the width of these end wall wings 87, 88 is slightly larger than the width of the end wall wings 64, 65, the edge regions of the end wall wings 87, 88 overlapping the edge regions of the associated end wall wings 64, 65 and the outer edges 73 and 93 or 74 and 94 at a distance from one another are arranged.
- the outer edges 93, 94 of the end wall wings 87, 88 are interrupted by recesses 95, 96 in which the projections 75, 76 are able to engage.
- the transverse cutting lines 97, 98 correspond in their course to the bottom of the packaging carrier. Cutouts 100, 102 corresponding to cutouts 80, 82 are provided in order to ensure this course corresponding to the floor.
- Upper boundary edges 103, 104 which correspond to the upper boundary edges 83, 84 end on the outside at locking lugs 105, 106 which cooperate with the locking lugs 85, 86 and end wall tabs 107, 108 projecting from the top wall 72.
- end wall tabs 107, 108 are hinged to the top wall 72 via crease lines 68, 70 and extend between the transverse crease lines 15, 16.
- the end wall tab 108 is delimited by cutting lines 110, 112, which originate from the intersection points of the creasing lines 68 with the creasing line 15 or 16 and which converge towards one another toward the outside.
- Another longitudinal cutting line 113 defines the lower edge of the front wall tab 107 and is connected to the two cutting edges 110, 112 via lines 114 and 115.
- the front wall tab 108 corresponds completely to the front wall tab 107.
- V-shaped cutouts 116, 117 are provided between the cutting lines 110, 112 and the upper boundary edges 83, 103.
- two finger holes 120 are punched out, in which reinforcing tabs 122 are arranged.
- One side wall 30 has a tear strip 123 with which the packaging carrier can be opened.
- the top wall 72 is placed over the bottle necks and the two ends of the blank are folded down.
- the reinforcing strip 63 of the partition 25 is folded in and the bottom section 24 is brought into its end position.
- the partition tabs 61 are erected upwards and inserted together with the partition 25 between the bottles.
- the other bottom section 23 is also brought into contact with the bottoms of the bottles and the locking section 43 together with the locking tabs 46 is pushed into the openings 34 and locked there.
- FIGS. 12 to 15 A further embodiment of the packaging carrier is shown in FIGS. 12 to 15, in which only the bottle caps protrude through the upper openings of the packaging carrier.
- FIG. 15 shows a cardboard blank 212 which is similar to the previously described blank 12 and has transverse creasing lines 214, 215, 216, 217 which divide it into a top surface section 280, side wall surface sections 220, 222 and bottom surface sections 223, 224 .
- a dividing wall 225 is formed on the bottom surface section 224 and is connected to it by means of two bending lines 226.
- the top surface section 218 is through the two transverse creasing lines 215, 216 be borders, which enclose the top wall 272 between them and which are interrupted by openings 325, the spacings of which in the transverse and longitudinal directions correspond to the spacings of the bottle caps.
- the dimensions of the side wall surfaces 228, 230 in the longitudinal direction of the blank essentially correspond to the height of the bottles, while the transverse dimensions of the bottom surface sections 223, 224 correspond to the dimensions of the rows of bottles.
- the top surface section 218 and the adjacent side wall surface sections 220 and 222 have a transverse extent which is larger than the rows of bottles are long.
- the bottom surface sections 223, 224 of the blank 212 have an overall dimension in the longitudinal direction, which enables their edge sections to overlap.
- the bottom surface section 224 is rectangular and extends between the crease line 217 and the boundary edge 233 running parallel thereto.
- a plurality of openings 234, the number of which corresponds to that of the bottles in one row, are provided in the bottom surface section 224 and form the receptacles for those provided on the other bottom surface section 223 Locking elements.
- the openings 234 are formed by a U-shaped cutting line 235, which is open to the inside of the blank and is delimited by short incisions 236 diverging from one another.
- a baseline 237 runs between these incisions 236 and runs parallel to the baseline 238 of the U-shaped intersection line 235.
- the middle of the openings is designated 234 'and its U-shaped cutting line 235' is inclined.
- the bottom surface section 223 at the other end of the blank is divided by a bending line 240 which runs parallel to the crease line 214 and delimits the actual bottom section 242 and divides a locking section 243 therefrom.
- the bending line 240 is interrupted by short C-shaped incisions 244, through which locking tabs 245 are formed. These tabs interact with the openings 234 and 234 'for hooking the two bottom sections, the tabs 245 abutting the outer boundary edge 238.
- further locking tabs 246 are formed, which have a constriction 247, the width of which corresponds to the width of the opening 234 or 234 'on its inner edge 237.
- the transverse crease line 217 which delimits the bottom surface section 224, is interrupted by holding openings 250, in which bottom sections of the bottles engage. Their distance corresponds to that of the bottles and they are in a row with the locking tabs 245 and 246.
- these holding openings 250 are delimited by a curved cutting line 252, the center of curvature of which lies in the interior of the adjacent side wall 231 '.
- These cutting lines 252 interrupt the transverse creasing line 253, which runs parallel to the creasing line 217, both of which together enclose an inclined surface 254 between them.
- the crease line 214 is interrupted by holding openings 256 which are designed in the same way as the holding openings 250 and which are delimited on the inside by curved cutting lines 257.
- These curved cutting lines interrupt a bending line 258, which runs parallel to the crease line 215 and between which a bottom inclined surface 260 is enclosed.
- articulated dividing tabs 261 are provided which engage between the bottles of a row.
- the partition wall 225 articulated on the bottom surface section 224 is narrower than this and serves to separate the two rows of bottles, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.
- the partition wall 225 has a U-shaped shape and is largely outside the boundary line 233 of the bottom surface section 224.
- the parts of the partition wall 225 lying within the bottom surface section 224 are arranged between the openings 234 and 234 'and articulated via bending lines 226.
- a bending line 262 divides a narrow strip 263 on the outside of the dividing wall 225, which strip can be folded in and, due to the then given double material thickness, brings about a better separating effect.
- the side wall surface section 220 has two end wall wings 264, 265 which are arranged outside the side wall surface 228 and are connected to the latter via crease lines 266, 267. These crease lines 266, 267 each extend between the ends of the crease lines 258, 259.
- the crease line 259 divides the side wall surface 228 into an upper side wall section 229 and a lower side wall section 229 '.
- the end wall wings 264, 265 are essentially rectangular and have a width which is somewhat larger than the bottle diameter and are delimited on their outer edge by the cutting lines 273, 274. These cutting lines 273, 274 are interrupted by narrow, outwardly projecting locking tabs 275, 276. The cut lines 273, 274 run parallel to the crease lines 266, 267, as a result of which the cut edges run vertically in the erected state of the packaging carrier. Transverse cutting lines 277, 278 form the bottom edges of the end wall wings 264, 265 and extend outside the intersection of the bending line 258 with the crease lines 266, 267. In the area of this intersection, a corner 280 and 282 is cut out of each of the two end wall wings, so that the lower edge of the respective end wall wing corresponds to the course of the Bo adjusts the bevel surface 260.
- Cut lines 281, 281 ′ extend between the ends of the bending line 259 and the crease line 215, which run towards one another in the direction of the top wall 272 and enclose the upper side wall section 229 between them.
- Upper boundary edges 283 ', 284' of the end wall wings likewise run at an angle to these cut edges 283, 284, and locking tabs 285, 286 are formed on their outer ends.
- the side panel portion 222 includes a side panel 230 and end wall wings 287, 288 hinged thereto which substantially correspond to the end wall panels 264, 265. These end wall wings 287, 288 are articulated on the side wall surface 230 via crease lines 290, 292, the crease lines 290, 292 extending between the ends of the bending line 289 and the crease line 263.
- the bend line 289 lies between the crease lines 216 and 253 and divides the side wall surface 230 into an upper side wall section 231 and a lower side wall section 231 '.
- the width of the end wall wings 287, 288 is slightly larger than that of the end wall wings 264, 265, so that their boundary edges overlap.
- the outer boundary edges 293, 294 are interrupted by cutouts 295, 296, into which the lugs 275, 276 engage when the packaging carrier is erected.
- Transverse cutting lines 297, 298 form the bottom edge of the end wall wing and lie outside the crease line 253 and are provided in the region thereof with gusset-shaped cutouts 300, 302, which again allow the bottom edge of the end wall wing to be adapted to the bottom sloping surface 254.
- the outer boundary edges of the upper side wall section 231 are formed by longitudinal cutting lines 301, 301 ', which extend between the crease line 216 and the bending line 289 and run at an angle to one another as viewed towards the top wall 272.
- Cut edges 303, 304 which correspond to the cut edges 283, 284, run at an angle to these cut lines 301, 301 '.
- Locking lugs 305, 306, which correspond to the locking lugs 285, 286, are arranged on the upper outer edge of the end wall wings.
- the top surface section 218 includes the top wall 272, which is delimited by the crease lines 215, 216 and 268, 270.
- End flap flaps 307, 308 are formed over the crease lines 268, 270, which are folded down in the erected state and are partially covered by the end wall flaps 264, 265 and 287, 288.
- the end wall tabs 307, 308 are completely identical, so that the further explanation relates only to the end wall tab 307.
- Cut lines 310, 311 form the side edges of the end wall flap, start from the crease line 268 and diverge from one another.
- the outer boundary edge of the front wall tab 307 is formed by a cutting line 313 which runs parallel to the crease line 268.
- V-shaped cutouts 316, 317 are provided between the cutting lines 310, 311 and the cutting lines 281, 301.
- the transverse creasing lines 215, 216 are interrupted by openings 325 which are arranged at a distance from one another which corresponds to the bottle diameter and which serve to hold the bottle.
- Two finger holes 320 are punched out of the top wall 272, the punched-out section being folded inwards as reinforcing flaps 322.
- One side wall surface 230 is provided with a tear strip 333, which allows the packaging carrier to be opened easily for removing the bottles.
- the top wall 272 is placed against the bottle closures and the end sections of the blank are folded down.
- the reinforcement strip 263 is folded around the bending line 262 and the dividing tab 261 is raised upwards.
- the partition 225 and the partition tabs 261 are then inserted between the bottles from below and the other bottom surface section 223 is folded up.
- the locking tabs 245, 246 arranged on the locking section 243 are inserted into the openings 234, 234 '.
- the end wall flaps 307, 308 are folded down around the crease lines 268, 270, whereupon the end wall wings 264, 265, 287, 288 are unfolded from the outside.
- the locking lugs 275, 276 engage in the recesses 295, 296, while the locking lugs 285, 286, 305, 306 are pushed behind the end wall tabs 307, 308.
- the end wall flaps and the end wall tabs are bent inwards, which ensures a secure closure even during handling of the packaging carrier.
