Definitions
- the present invention aims to provide a formwork apparatus for pouring concrete concrete slabs directly onto the ground, that is to say perfectly horizontal, proceeding in successive strips, without the need for any anchoring in the ground.
- This apparatus is distinguished from known systems by the fact that it comprises preferably metal supports intended to rest on the ground and to removably support metal formwork. These supports are provided with means for adjusting the height of the forms. This apparatus further comprises removable spacers for fixing the spacing of two parallel formwork serving to pour a strip of concrete, tension wires intended to be stretched between the formwork while crossing them and means for tensioning these wires and immobilizing them by compared to the formwork.
- the apparatus shown comprises metal supports 1 which are placed on the ground after having leveled the latter and fixed the alignment by means of cords.
- the apparatus comprises panels 2 which are placed in alignment with the cords by making them rest, as will be seen below, on a part of the supports 1.
- each support 1 is formed of a base formed by a cross of U-shaped profiles. At the center of this cross is provided at 3 a boss in which is engaged the lower sketch d 'A screw 4 having two dishes 5 ( Figures 3 and 4) so that the screw is kept vertical that is to say perpendicular to the base and is prevented from turning on itself.
- This screw is integral with a disc 6 having peripheral notches 7 and which is used to rotate the screw by means of a forked wrench 8.
- the forms 2 have at their upper part a rim 13 perpendicular to the main plane of the form. It is by this rim that these forms come to rest on the part 12 of the support pieces 10 while the main body of the forms comes to rest against the vertical wing 11 of these support pieces.
- These supports 1 are arranged at the place where two successive forms are in contact and there are provided on the underside of the rim 13 studs 14 intended to engage in corresponding holes 15 of the wing 12, to ensure the position correct longitudinal alignment of the successive forms 2.
- the correct vertical positioning of the forms is done by turning each of the screws 4 so as to bring the upper edge of the forms along horizontal lines located in the plane of the upper face of the concrete slab that it's about training. This adjustment can be made with any precision desired for such work.
- the end portion 22 of the wire 17 is acted upon to exert tension on this wire and chasing the corner 21 in the part 20 so as to wedge therein the wire 17 and therefore force it to remain energized.
- the wires 17 are spaced regularly and the spacers 16 are placed just vertical to these wires. Thus the two parallel formwork are held firmly in their correct position and do not undergo significant displacements or deformations when pouring the concrete, as indicated in 23.
- the supports 1 are placed so that only one of the arms, 24, of the cross-shaped base is engaged under the forms and partially under the edge of the slab when the casting is finished.
- the screw 4 has, as seen in Figure 3, a thread 25 whose section is substantially semi-circular.
- the successive turns of the thread 25 are separated by a cylindrical part 26 relatively large compared to the width of the thread itself.
- This arrangement makes it possible to easily detach the concrete which could have accidentally deposited on the screw during a casting operation and which would have hardened on this screw.
- Given the shape of the thread and given the importance of the cylindrical part 26 separating the successive turns it is easy, as experience has shown, to detach the concrete simply by giving one or two strokes on the screw by means of 'a hammer for example.
- the apparatus described can be used indefinitely and can make it possible to make slabs of any size, using as appropriate the number of forms and supports necessary to form the successive strips of concrete.
- the reinforcement 27 of the concrete can be put in place before the tension wires 17 or after these, depending on the position of this reinforcement in the concrete.
- the height adjustment of the formwork as it has been described can be done very exactly by means of a site telescope or even simply with a water level.
- the apparatus described makes it possible to execute a slab the upper face of which is perfectly horizontal and at the desired level, with a minimum of time devoted to the installation and removal of this apparatus.

Description
When it comes to pouring concrete slabs directly on the ground, we proceed in successive strips using as formwork wooden boards that are nailed on stakes planted in the ground. The ground being irregular and the method of fixing the formwork to the stakes quite coarse, it is difficult to obtain perfectly horizontal slabs. In addition, the installation of the formwork elements is relatively long and the material used does not have a very long service life since the successive installation and removal of nails deteriorates the formwork.
US Patents Nos. 2,281,946 and 4,066,237 and CH No 255,652 show such apparatus intended to be anchored in the ground. In the patent US 2,014,826, an apparatus is described which does not require anchoring and which is posed directly on the ground, but it does not make it possible to pour precise concrete slabs, because it is devoid of adjustment means allowing to compensate for the inevitable local inequalities of level of the ground, when this one was not previously leveled in a precise way.
The present invention aims to provide a formwork apparatus for pouring concrete concrete slabs directly onto the ground, that is to say perfectly horizontal, proceeding in successive strips, without the need for any anchoring in the ground.
This apparatus is distinguished from known systems by the fact that it comprises preferably metal supports intended to rest on the ground and to removably support metal formwork.
- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the apparatus during a concrete pouring operation to form a strip which after juxtaposition with similar strips will form a slab resting directly on the ground.
- Figure 2 is also a perspective view but at larger scale, showing part of the apparatus according to Figure 1.
- Figure 3 is a detail view, in elevation, of an element of the apparatus.
- Figure 4 is a sectional view along 4 - 4 of Figure 3.
The apparatus shown comprises metal supports 1 which are placed on the ground after having leveled the latter and fixed the alignment by means of cords. The apparatus comprises
Referring to Figure 2, we see that each support 1 is formed of a base formed by a cross of U-shaped profiles. At the center of this cross is provided at 3 a boss in which is engaged the lower sketch d 'A
On this screw is engaged a nut 9 secured to a
The
These supports 1 are arranged at the place where two successive forms are in contact and there are provided on the underside of the
When the forms are thus brought to the
It will be noted that the supports 1 are placed so that only one of the arms, 24, of the cross-shaped base is engaged under the forms and partially under the edge of the slab when the casting is finished.
The
When the concrete has been poured between the two parallel formwork visible in FIG. 1, the upper surface of the concrete is leveled in a known manner by means of a board which is held in the hand so that this upper face of the strip of concrete is perfectly horizontal and flush with the upper edge of the formwork. Of course, during the casting operation, the
When the concrete has set, the
The apparatus described can be used indefinitely and can make it possible to make slabs of any size, using as appropriate the number of forms and supports necessary to form the successive strips of concrete.
The
