  • the forms 2 have at their upper part a rim 13 perpendicular to the main plane of the form. It is by this rim that these forms come to rest on the part 12 of the support pieces 10 while the main body of the forms comes to rest against the vertical wing 11 of these support pieces.
  • These supports 1 are arranged at the place where two successive forms are in contact and there are provided on the underside of the rim 13 studs 14 intended to engage in corresponding holes 15 of the wing 12, to ensure the position correct longitudinal alignment of the successive forms 2.
  • the correct vertical positioning of the forms is done by turning each of the screws 4 so as to bring the upper edge of the forms along horizontal lines located in the plane of the upper face of the concrete slab that it's about training. This adjustment can be made with any precision desired for such work.
  • the end portion 22 of the wire 17 is acted upon to exert tension on this wire and chasing the corner 21 in the part 20 so as to wedge therein the wire 17 and therefore force it to remain energized.
  • the wires 17 are spaced regularly and the spacers 16 are placed just vertical to these wires. Thus the two parallel formwork are held firmly in their correct position and do not undergo significant displacements or deformations when pouring the concrete, as indicated in 23.
  • the supports 1 are placed so that only one of the arms, 24, of the cross-shaped base is engaged under the forms and partially under the edge of the slab when the casting is finished.
  • the screw 4 has, as seen in Figure 3, a thread 25 whose section is substantially semi-circular.
  • the successive turns of the thread 25 are separated by a cylindrical part 26 relatively large compared to the width of the thread itself.
  • This arrangement makes it possible to easily detach the concrete which could have accidentally deposited on the screw during a casting operation and which would have hardened on this screw.
  • Given the shape of the thread and given the importance of the cylindrical part 26 separating the successive turns it is easy, as experience has shown, to detach the concrete simply by giving one or two strokes on the screw by means of 'a hammer for example.
  • the apparatus described can be used indefinitely and can make it possible to make slabs of any size, using as appropriate the number of forms and supports necessary to form the successive strips of concrete.
  • the reinforcement 27 of the concrete can be put in place before the tension wires 17 or after these, depending on the position of this reinforcement in the concrete.
  • the height adjustment of the formwork as it has been described can be done very exactly by means of a site telescope or even simply with a water level.
  • the apparatus described makes it possible to execute a slab the upper face of which is perfectly horizontal and at the desired level, with a minimum of time devoted to the installation and removal of this apparatus.
