Definitions

  • the invention relates to a corner angle connection of two straight gutter parts or two pipe pieces according to the preamble
  • profiles of various types are particularly important for gutters and pipes. They are also required for profiles of other types, e.g. extruded aluminum profiles.
  • the profiles themselves can consist of dimensionally stable material of various types, e.g. sheet metal, drawn or extruded metal, plastic, e.g. Hard PVC, earthenware and others.
  • the corner brackets are generally rectangular. Geometric angles of other sizes are also important, e.g. Angles of 120 ° for hexagonal objects or buildings as well as angles that deviate from 90 ° for rain downpipes.
  • Gutter parts made of sheet metal are mitred, leaving one of the gutter parts with a little more sheet metal so that a fold can be formed. The fold is flanged and then soldered to the other channel part.
  • Galvanized iron sheet, copper sheet or titanium-zinc sheet can be used for this.
  • Channel parts consisting of plastic (DE-U-17 79 170) are also mitred and cut in a relatively complicated manner so that they overlap one another and then glued to one another by means of thickened casting resin.
  • corner angle connections produced in this way are rigid structures, which has two disadvantages.
  • US-A-3 173 268 describes a corner connector for gutters made of wood or sheet metal.
  • the two gutter parts are miter cut at 45 ° and spaced apart with the miter surfaces.
  • An angled metal plate is attached to each of the two gutter parts with a flange that is bent in a U-shape along the miter surface.
  • the mutually facing U-shaped flanges are in engagement with a locking part with a C-shaped cross section, so that the two gutter parts are held loosely in their position relative to one another.
  • a soft roof cement is poured in, so that the connection point is sealed and to a certain extent, namely within the scope of the play between the sheet metal connecting parts, is flexible.
  • US-A-4 023 834 describes a connection of two pipe sections inclined at a slight angle to one another.
  • the connection is made by a connecting sleeve which is pushed onto the adjoining ends of the pipe pieces in the friction seat and which consists of spirally wound fibers and embedded in an elastomeric binder.
  • a connecting sleeve has the desired properties that its diameter decreases when subjected to tensile forces in the axial direction, while its diameter increases with axial compression. In this way, the connecting sleeve can easily be pushed onto the two ends of the pipe sections, but is held in place by frictional engagement if axial tensile forces or bending moments occur.
  • the present invention is intended to create corner angle connections which are easier to manufacture and which also permit problem-free installation if the geometric angle of the corner angle connection deviates somewhat from that between the profiles. Changes in the geometric angle between the profiles should also be compensated for in the further use of the corner angle connection.
  • a corner connection produced in this way has the further advantage that it compensates for changes in angle both during installation and during operation by appropriate expansion and compression of the rubber-elastic material between the profile parts. If the straight profile parts are cut with a miter, then considerable tolerances of the miter cuts are harmless.
  • corner angle connections can be provided for geometrical angles other than right.
  • the rubber-elastic strip is only provided on the inside, so that, viewed from below, only a very narrow piece of strip remains between the gutter parts and thus gives a satisfactory impression.
  • a further embodiment of a corner angle connection can be created for gutters in that an actual corner piece is formed from dimensionally stable material, which contains the geometric corner diagonal and is connected on both sides by elastic strips to the straight gutter parts.
  • a higher mechanical strength is achieved by overlapping the hard parts (corner piece and straight gutter parts).
  • the fact that an angular displacement is possible on both edges of the corner piece increases the rubber-elastic angular mobility as a whole. If the corner piece is deep-drawn from sheet metal, it can be very narrow when viewed transversely to the corner diagonal. If, on the other hand, it is molded from dimensionally stable plastic, it can be wider and e.g. end with edges that run transversely to the longitudinal direction of the straight gutter parts.
  • the mobility can be increased by the fact that the gutter parts and the corner piece remain unconnected over the width of two displacement zones, so that there is nothing in the way of a displacement with elastic deformation of each of the elastic strips.
  • the rubber-elastic strips are made of synthetic rubber, a particularly long service life is achieved, even against UV radiation, and the seal between the profile parts and the rubber-elastic strips is reliable using vulcanization.
  • a corner angle connection according to FIG. 1 has two straight gutter parts 1 and 2, which are at least approximately mitred at their joints. The mitred edges are shown in dashed lines. Between them there is a distance a of 1 to 5 mm, in particular 2 to 3 mm. Both gutter parts are connected to each other in a watertight but rubber-elastic manner by a strip 4 made of synthetic rubber or plastic. In the case of rubber-elastic strips of synthetic rubber, this is done by vulcanization, in the case of strips of plastic, in particular polyvinyl chloride, by gluing or welding.
  • gutter ducks 1 and 2 are cut from galvanized iron sheet, copper sheet or titanium-zinc sheet. They are then put together in a vulcanizing mold so that the small distance a remains between them. A strip of synthetic rubber from e.g. 4 cm width is only placed on the inside. Then the strip is connected to the two gutter parts by vulcanization.
  • the synthetic rubber strip overlaps the. two gutter parts, measured across the miter slope, e.g. 1.5 to 2 cm.
  • FIG. 3 shows a modified embodiment of a gutter corner corner connection in a top view with rubber-elastic strips partially broken away.
  • Both gutter parts are overlapped by a corner piece 14 which extends to both sides of the corner diagonals 16 and is deep-drawn in one piece, for example from sheet metal.
  • the corner piece 14 overlaps the edges 18 of the gutter parts 11, 12 facing the corner diagonals 16.
  • the edges are mitred.
  • the upwardly exposed edges 21 of the corner piece 14 are each covered by a rubber-elastic streak 24.
  • the strips run over the entire lengths of the edges 21 and are shown broken away for the sake of clarity.
  • the rubber-elastic strips are firmly connected to the parts 11, 12 and 14 only in the hatched attachment zones 24.1 and 24.2. In the intermediate displacement zones 24.5, on the other hand, they have no connection with the parts 11, 12 or 14.
  • the gutter parts 11, 12 and the corner piece 14 are preferably deep-drawn from sheet metal, in particular titanium-tin sheet. They are then brought into a vulcanizing mold in the arrangement shown in FIG. 3, after paper strips across the width of the displacement zones 24.5 have been additionally glued to at least one strip of the gutter parts 11, 12, better on the edges of the corner piece. Then two strips 24 of synthetic rubber are placed, the mold is closed, and it is vulcanized, the vulcanization process being limited to the hatched fastening zones 24.1, 24.2, so that only there a firm connection between the rubber-elastic strips and the sheet metal parts occurs, while in Area of the displacement zones 24.5 no connection between sheet metal parts and rubber-elastic strips.
  • the parts 11 and 12 can move relatively far with respect to the corner piece 14 with elastic deformation or bulging of the elastic strips, so that large changes in angle can be bridged.
  • a high mechanical strength is achieved by overlapping the hard parts 11, 14 and 12.
  • FIGS. 5 and 6 differs from that according to FIGS. 3 and 4 only in that the inner edges 31 of the gutter parts 11 and 12 lie above instead of below the corner piece 14.
  • a single rubber-elastic strip 30 is used, which is firmly connected in three fastening zones 30.1 and 30.3 to the gutter parts 11, 12 and the corner piece 14, while again there are displacement zones 30.5, which in this case are largely above the corner piece 14.
  • the displacement zones preferably have a width of approximately 1 cm and the fastening zones preferably have a width of approximately 1.5 to 2 cm, always transverse to the corner diagonal 16.
  • gutter corner angle connections are preferably produced in the embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6.
  • two pipe sections 1 and 2 are cut off from a pipe in such a way that the miter bevels arise (FIG. 1).
  • a rubber-elastic strip e.g. made of polyvinyl chloride is guided from the outside around the joint at the miter bevels and glued or welded to the profile pieces. A small distance a of 2 to 5 mm remains again.
