Definitions
- the invention relates to a tiltable converter with a support ring surrounding the converter vessel at a distance, which has two diametrically opposed support pins, the converter vessel being movably connected to the support ring by means of tension and pressure-absorbing connecting means.
- a number of requirements are placed on the suspension of a converter vessel in the support ring: First of all, the suspension must permit deformation of the vessel and of the support ring. Such deformations, as they occur as a result of the influences of the metallurgical view and the static loads, durfon bicht behinders verden de, otherwise, constraining forces occur between the converter and the support ring.
- a further requirement for a converter suspension is that there must be no play permitting a relative movement of these two parts between the converter vessel and the support ring, since such play would cause Stöce during the tilting of the converter and thus uncontrolled stresses on the load-bearing connection means of the suspension.
- the frictional forces counteracting the deformations of the converter or support ring should be only slight.
- the load-bearing elements should also be as possible simple to construct and easy to dimension, in other words, the calculation of the forces occurring on the suspension should be carried out with the greatest possible accuracy.
- a converter of the type described in the opening paragraph is known from DE-AS 1 946 892, a ball joint being arranged in the support ring in the region of a support pin for suspending the converter vessel and connecting the support ring directly to the converter vessel.
- This ball joint cooperates with a horizontally arranged pull rod with ball joints at its ends to absorb the horizontal forces and with vertical pull rods to absorb the vertical forces.
- the object of the invention is to create a converter whose suspension, in addition to fulfilling all of the above-mentioned requirements, also fulfills the condition that on the one hand the static determination of the support is ensured by a three-point bearing in every position of the converter and on the other hand the dimensioning, i.e. the strength calculation is simplified and the susceptibility of the converter to mechanical disturbances caused by the suspension is reduced.
- the converter vessel is mounted in the support ring by means of three articulated brackets inclined to the longitudinal axis of the converter vessel the joints of which are each mounted on the converter vessel and on the support ring, the link plates being pivotable in the plane formed by their longitudinal or central axis and the longitudinal axis of the converter vessel.
- the inclination of the link plates to the longitudinal axis of the converter vessel is expediently in an angular range between 15 ° and 45 °.
- a preferred inclination of the longitudinal axes of each link plate to the longitudinal axis of the converter is 30 °.
- each link plate is equipped at one end with a single pivot bearing and at the other end with two pivot bearings spaced apart in the circumferential direction of the converter or the support ring, the ends of all the link plates having only one pivot bearing either the support ring or the converter are assigned and the bearings of the articulated straps are expediently designed as articulated bearings.
- one bearing is advantageously designed as a fixed bearing and the other as a floating bearing.
- a particularly useful arrangement of the link plates is characterized in that the longitudinal axes of all link plates lie in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the converter vessel and to the axis of the trunnion, advantageously two of the link plates below and one link plate above the support ring of the converter vessel located in the upright position are arranged.
- FIG. 1 a front view of a converter
- FIG. 2 a view in the direction of arrow II in FIG. 1, partly in section
- FIG. 3 a view in the direction of arrow III in FIG Fig. 1 also partially show in section. 4 and 5 and 7 and 8 illustrate two further embodiments in representations analogous to FIGS. 1 and 2.
- Fig. 6 shows a link plate of the embodiment shown in Figs. 4 and 5 in oblique view.
- the converter vessel is designated by 1 and is surrounded by a closed support ring 2.
- the support ring 2 is tiltably supported by two aligned support pins 3 in support bearings, not shown.
- the converter vessel 1 is fastened in the support ring 2 by means of three articulated brackets 4, which are each pivotably mounted in bearings 5, 6 both on the support ring 2 and on the converter vessel 1.
- Both the bearings 6, which are provided on the support ring, and the bearings 5 on the converter vessel are formed in two parts, each joint plate with bolts 7, 8 provided at its ends in a part 5 ', 5 "and 6', 6", respectively.
- the bearing 5, 6 is budgeted.
- the bearings 6 on the converter vessel are installed in ribs 3, which are reinforced by belts 10 and further ribs 11.
- the arrangement of the bearings 5, 6 is selected such that the longitudinal or central axis 12 of each link plate 4 forms an angle 14 of 30 with the longitudinal axis 13 of the converter vessel 1, the longitudinal axis 12 of each link plate 4 intersects with the longitudinal axis 13 of the converter vessel 1, so that the hinge plates can be pivoted in the plane formed by their longitudinal axis and the longitudinal axis of the converter vessel. Furthermore, the longitudinal axes of all articulation pins lie in the axis 15 of the support pins 3 recha angular and plane through the longitudinal axis 13 of the vessel, one of the Celenklaschen 4 on the top of the support ring and the other two articulation tabs on the underside of the support ring - with the converter upright - are arranged.
- This arrangement of the link plates causes the converter vessel 1 to expand or contract freely in all directions within the support ring, with only such a deformation of the converter vessel causing frictional forces in the bearings 5. 6 occur.
- the weight of the converter when the converter is in an upright position, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, is introduced into the support ring by means of the two joint plates 4 located on the underside of the support ring 2; when the converter vessel is tilted, the third hinge plate 4 arranged on the upper side of the support ring 2 comes into operation.
- the articulated brackets 18, which are cranked with respect to their longitudinal (or central) axis 12, are each on the support ring 2 by means of a bearing 19 and on the converter vessel by means of two spaced apart bearings 20.
- the axes 21 of these layers form an obtuse angle with one another, which is why these bearings 20 are designed as spherical bearings, as shown schematically in FIG. 5.
- This enables a perfect pivoting possibility of the link plates around this bearing 20.
- One of the spherical bearings 20 is designed as a floating bearing and the other as a fixed bearing.
- each joint plate 22 is mounted on the support ring 2 by means of two bearings 23 located at a distance from one another and on the converter vessel by means of a single bearing 24.
- the invention is not limited to the illustrated embodiments, but can be modified in various ways. It is thus possible to arrange the articulated brackets outside of the plane of symmetry perpendicular to the trunnion axis, for example all three articulated brackets could be evenly distributed around the upper side or only on the lower side of the supporting ring.

Abstract
