Description

The invention relates to a usable as a cleaning cap with a cover for drainage pipes, with a one-piece housing that has a rectangular frame at the top and a pipe connection stub coming down from it, and at the transition of both an inwardly projecting shoulder, which has the support surface for the likewise rectangular cover forms, which is sealed to the housing by a sealing ring and fastened by fasteners.

Waste water pipes, especially those that connect the downpipe in houses to the street sewer, must be provided with cleaning openings so that the pipe is accessible to cleaning devices in the event of a blockage. In the case of cables laid in or under a floor, branches are usually provided for this purpose, onto which an attachment piece of the type mentioned at the outset is placed as a cleaning closure, so that the frame and cover lie flush with the floor. Such an attachment piece is known from DE-U-7 533 387. Such attachments or cleaning closures should meet the requirement that they are secured and sealed against backwater, have square frames, in vertical e.g. have the customary dimensions of the rectangular, in particular square, frame, have a small space requirement in the vertical direction, allow easy removal and reinsertion of the cover and are inexpensive to produce.

In the known cleaning closure according to DE-U-7 533 387, the cover is fastened to the housing by pressing a radial sealing ring against the smooth inner wall of the pipe socket of the housing by means of a pressure ring provided on the cover and clampable by a screw against the cover against the inner wall of the pipe to clamp the cover to the housing. This construction is structurally complex and only results in a frictionally locking securing of the cover to the housing. Very high tensioning forces are required for a secure attachment of the cover, and a fairly massive cast-iron construction of the housing and the cover is necessary for the accommodation thereof. In addition, the opening required for the clamping screw represents a point at which a leak can occur. The known cleaning closure is therefore not optimally reliable.

The object of the invention is to improve a usable as a cleaning cap attachment of the type mentioned so that it is simple, inexpensive and can be produced in particularly tight dimensions, but still allows a secure attachment and sealing of the cover on the housing. There is also the requirement that the clear width of the frame should be used as completely as possible for the cross section of the outgoing pipe socket.

To achieve the object, an attachment piece of the type mentioned is characterized in that the shoulder on its circular inner edge forms an inwardly chamfered and / or grooved sealing surface for receiving and centering the sealing ring and that the cover on its underside accordingly has a bevelled and / or grooved sealing surface on the outside for centering support on the sealing ring and is screwed to the housing outside the sealing ring.

This creates a positive connection of the cover to the housing and the sealing, which is independent of the fastening, is arranged in a space-saving manner in such a way that it requires little space in the vertical and radial directions. The screw connections are now outside of the sealed cross-section, so they cannot impair the function in the case of backflow.

A particularly space-saving design is achieved if the sealing surface of the housing merges tangentially into the inner walls of the frame at the side centers, only the gussets of the shoulder remaining in the corners of the frame forming support surfaces for the cover.

A very good seal can also be achieved with a small space requirement if the sealing ring is encompassed by the sealing surface of the housing essentially on the lower outer quarter and by the sealing surface of the cover essentially on the upper inner quarter of the circumference of its cross section.

The height of the support surfaces is matched to that of the two sealing surfaces so that when the cover is screwed tightly, that is to say in a load-bearing manner, the sealing ring is subjected to sufficient pressure so that it withstands the maximum permissible back pressure without overstressing. The arrangement of the sealing ring thus does not correspond to that of known rolling rings, which are only pressed radially, nor that of flat seals, which are only pressed together axially. Rather, it is arranged on the boundary between the sealing surface of a flat gasket and that of a rolling ring, which saves space and ensures optimum functional reliability.

Further advantageous features of the invention can be seen from subclaims 3 and 5-8.

Embodiments of the invention are explained below with reference to the drawings.
  • Fig. 1 shows schematically and with parts cut away the attachment piece with Housing and cover according to an embodiment of the invention;
  • Fig. 2 shows the same embodiment in section along the line 11-11 of Fig. 3;
  • 3 and 4 show a plan view of the top piece with or without a lid;
  • 5 and 6 show in section and in plan view a further embodiment of the attachment piece.

The housing 1 forms a square frame 3 with vertical inner walls 4 at the top and goes over a shoulder 5, which corresponds to a recess on the outside, into a pipe socket 6 about who eg can be connected to the (not shown) sleeve end of a vertical conduit. The frame 3 preferably has the dimensions of conventional floor tiles on its outside so that it can be laid flush with a tile covering. With the frame dimensions remaining the same, the housing 1 can be produced with different diameters of the pipe socket 6, as indicated in FIGS. 2 to 6 ′, 6 ″.

The inner circular edge of the shoulder 5 is chamfered in a quarter circle and forms a sealing surface 7, which receives and centers a sealing ring 8 of round or elliptical cross section, and bears against this essentially along the lower outer quarter of its cross-sectional circumference. The groove 7 runs in such a way that it merges tangentially directly into the vertical walls 4 at the side centers of the frame 3. In the remaining gussets in the corners of the frame 3, the shoulder 5 forms horizontal support surfaces for the cover 2, preferably slightly increased fitting surfaces 9 being provided in the frame corners for supporting the cover 2. The lid 2, supported in this way at all four corners, has a downwardly directed, circular web 10 on the underside, on the underside of which there is provided a sealing surface 11 which is fluted outward in a quarter circle and which cooperates with the sealing ring 8. This sealing surface 11 lies on the sealing ring 8 essentially on the upper inner quarter of its cross-sectional circumference and centers it from the inside.

In two diagonally opposite corners, the cover 2 is screwed to the housing 1 by means of screws 12 which are screwed into threaded holes in the shoulder 5. Each screw 12 is secured to the cover 2 by a collar 13 attached to the screw shaft, which has so much play in the longitudinal direction of the screw 12 in a lower recess 14 of the cover 2 that the screw 12 can be completely unscrewed from the threaded bore before the Collar 13 strikes the bottom of the recess 14. A lifting tool can then be attached to the heads of the screws 12 which then protrude above the top of the cover 2 in order to lift the cover 2 out of the frame 3.

The illustrated sealing of the cover 2 by means of the sealing ring 8, which is compressed both axially and radially, results in a particularly simple and reliable sealing with the smallest space requirement and is made possible in that the support surfaces 9 for the cover 2 are provided separately from the sealing area.

An zwei diametral gegenüberliegenden Ecken hat der Kragen 15 verstärke Eckklötze 16 zur Unterbringung der Befestigungsschrauben 12.,In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 4, the cover has a smooth upper side and webs 10 projecting downwards. In the embodiment according to FIG. 5, the cover 2 has an upwardly projecting collar 15 which encloses a trough-shaped cavity. This cavity can be filled with a filling compound, e.g. Concrete or a decorative artificial stone material to be filled to adapt the cover 2 to the surrounding flooring. At two diametrically opposite corners, the collar 15 has reinforced corner blocks 16 for accommodating the fastening screws 12.

To connect a moisture-insulating sealing membrane, the housing can also be provided with a connecting flange 19 according to FIG. 2. If the sealing membrane is not to be glued but to be clamped in, a loose flange 20 can also be provided, which is screwed to the fixed flange 19.

Since the pipe socket of the attachment piece has the dimensions corresponding to the spigot end of a socket pipe, it can be inserted into a drain housing with any drain socket, with the interposition of a roller ring or the like. This creates a drain or a cleaning closure that can be smoothly attached to different ceilings and Base thicknesses can be adjusted.
