Den foreliggende opfindelse angår et overtræks-materiale der er hærdeligt under indflydelse af ultraviolet lys og er baseret på et UV-hærdeligt bindemiddel, en fotoigangsætter og en nitrogenholdig accelerator.
5 I kendte overtræksmaterialer bruges der sædvanligvis en aromatisk karbonylforbindelse som fotoigangsætter og en alkanolamin som accelerator. Ved hærdning af pigmenterede eller ikke-pigmenterede overtræksmaterialer fører denne kombination til overtræk med god overfladehårdhed. En ulem-10 pe består imidlertid i at alkanolaminerne som regel er utilstrækkeligt forenelige med UV-hærdelige bindemidler således at der kan finde uklarhedsdannelse sted i overtrækket af det hærdede overtræksmateriale eller exsudation af acceleratoren som resultat af vandring af denne. Når der bruges 15 alkanolaminer kan man altså ikke vælge et hvilket som helst UV-hærdeligt bindemiddel, heller ikke et bindemiddel med isocyanatgrupper fordi den resulterende reaktion med sådanne bestanddele ville bevirke at overtræksmaterialet fik utilladelig kort beholdertid.
20 Det er formålet med den foreliggende opfindelse at tilvejebringe et overtræksmateriale son ikke udviser de ovennævnte ulemper og som bevarer fordelene med hurtig og god hærdning. Overtræksmaterialet ifølge opfindelsen er ejendommeligt ved det i krav l's kendetegnende del angivne. Te-25 trahydro-1,3-oxazinforbindelserne og oxazolidinforbin-delserne vil under et i det følgende blive betegnet som tetrahydrooxazaforbindelser eller blot oxazaforbindelser.
Som bindemiddel kan der generelt vælges et hvilket som helst UV-hærdeligt bindemiddel. Som eksempler 30 på egnede bindemidler kan nævnes umættede polyesterharpikser og alkydharpikser, umættede epoxyharpikser, umættede melamin-formaldehyd-harpikser, uretanakrylatharpik-ser, polybutadienharpikser og umættede forbindelser såsom akrylater, metakrylater og allylforbindelser. Det fore-35 trækkes at bruge en uretan-akrylat-harpiks, navnlig et addukt indeholdende mindst én isocyanatgruppe af (a) en akrylsyre- eller metalkrylsyrehydroxyester med 5-20 kulstofatomer og (b) et polyisocyanat med 4-40 kulstofato- 149613 2 mer og 2-4 isocyanatgrupper.
Anvendelse af en sådan uretanakrylatharpiks medfører den fordel at tetrahydrooxazaforbindelsen eller -forbindelserne ér kemisk bundet i det hærdede over-5 træk, og som følge heraf undgås uønsket plastificerings-effekt.
Ved opbevaring i lukkede beholdere udviser oxaza-forbindelserne ikke nogen ringåbning, og følgelig finder der ikke nogen reaktion sted med isocyanatforbindelsen.
10 Først efter at materialet er påført på et substrat undergår oxazaforbindelsen ringåbning under indflydelse af fugtighed fra den omgivende luft. Oxa-.zaforbindelsen udøver således først den accelererende virkning efter ringåbning, og det foreliggende materiale har 15 derfor lang beholdertid.
Anvendelse af de omhandlede tetrahydrooxazaforbin-delser har den yderligere fordel at resultere i en forøgelse af isocyanatforbindelsens molekylvægt, blot forbindelsen indeholder mindst to ringe, og medfører således 20 at det af materialet fremstillede overtræks fysiske egenskaber og holdbarhed forbedres yderligere. Monofunktionelle forbindelser har i mindre grad den virkning at forøge molekylvægten, da efter hydrolyse af oxazaforbindelsen praktisk taget kun den dannede aminogruppe (ikke hy-25 droxygruppen) vil reagere med isocyanatforbindelsen. Det er naturligvis også muligt at bruge blandinger af umættede polymerer i kombination, om ønsket, med mættede polymerer eller bruge UV-hærdelige blandinger af polymerer og umættede eller mættede monomere forbindelser.
30 Som eksempler på typiske UV-hærdelige polyestere kan nævnes polykondensationsprodukter af umættede dieller polykarboxylsyrer eller derivater deraf, fx malein-syre, maleinsyreanhydrid, fumarsyre og sådanne polyoler som ætylenglykol, 1,2-propandiol, diætylenglykol, 1,3-35 propylenglykol, polyætylenglykol, hexandiol, glycerol, trimetylolpropan og/eller pentaerytritol. Foruden de u-mættede karboxylsyrer kan der være mættede karboxylsyrer til stede, fx syntetiske og/eller naturlige fedtsyrer, benzoesyre, isononansyre, malonsyre, glutarsyre, adipin- 3 U9613 syre, azelainsyre, sebacinsyre, tetrahydrof talsyre, ftalsyre, ftalsy-reanhydrid, isoftalsyre, tereftalsyre, hexaklorendomety-lentetrahydroftalsyre og/eller trimellitinsyre. Sædvanligvis er disse polyestere blandede med umættede mono-5 mere forbindelser med vinylgrupper og/eller allylgrup-per. Som monomere forbindelser bruges der som regel styren, vinyltoluen og/eller metylmetakrylat.
Typiske eksempler på umættede epoxyharpikser er produkter af reaktion mellem forbindelser med en eller 10 flere epoxygrupper og akrylsyre eller metakrylsyre. Som eksempler på egnede epoxyforbindelser kan nævnes butyl-glycidylæter, 2-ætylhexylglycidylæter, 1,4-butandioldi-glycidylæter og diglycidylætrene af 4,4'-dihydroxydife-nyl-2,2-propan, 1,1'-isopropyliden-bis-(p-fenylenoxy)-15 2-diætanol og 1,11-isopropyliden-bis-(p-fenylenoxy)-2-dipropanol.
Som eksempler på uretanakrylatharpikser kan nævnes reaktionsprodukter af et eller flere di- eller polyiso-cyanater og et eller flere hydroxy akry later eller hydroxyme-20 takrylater. Som eksempler på egnede isocyanatforbindel-ser kan nævnes hexametylendiisocyanat, 2,2,4-trimetylhe-xan-1,6-diisocyanat, 2,4,4-trimetylhexan-l,6-diisocya-nat, cyklohexyl-1,4-diisocyanat, isoforondiisocyanat, adduktet af 1 molekyle 1,4-butandiol og 2 molekyler iso-25 forondiisocyanat, adduktet af 1 molekyle 1,4-butandiol og 2 molekyler hexametylendiisocyanat, dicyklohexylmetan-4,4'-diisocyanat, xylylendiisocyanat, 1,3,5-trimetyl-(2,4-u-diisocyanatometyl)-benzen, toluendiisocyanat, di-fenylmetan-4,4'-diisocyanat, adduktet af 3 molekyler he-30 xametylendiisocyanat og 1 molekyle vand, adduktet af 1 molekyle trimetylolpropan og 3 molekyler isoforondiisocyanat, adduktet af 1 molekyle trimetylolpropan og 3 molekyler toluendiisocyanat og adduktet af 1 molekyle pen-taerytritol og 4 molekyler hexametylendiisocyanat. Som 35 eksempler på egnede hydroxyakrylater eller hydroxymeta-krylater indeholdende mindst én hydroxygruppe kan nævnes 2-hydroxyætylakrylat, 2-hydroxyætylmetakrylat, 3-hydroxy-propylmetakrylat, 4-hydroxybutylakrylat, 12-hydroxydode- 149613 4 kanylakrylat, 2-hydroxy-3-klorpropylakrylat, trimetylol-propandiakrylat, trimetylolpropandimetakrylat, pentae-rytritoldiakrylat og pentaerytritoltriakrylat.
Eksempler på egnede metakrylater, akrylater og 5 allylforbindelser er bl.a. metylakrylat, metylmetakry-lat, ætylakrylat, ætylmetakrylat, butylakrylat, akrylsyre-estere eller metakrylsyreestere af alifatiske dioler og/ eller polyoler som fx ætylendiakrylat, trimetylolpropan-triakrylat og pentaerytritoltetraakrylat; hydroxyakry-10 later og hydroxymetakrylater såsom hydroxyætylakrylat, 3-hydroxypropylakrylat, 3-hydroxypropylmetakrylat, 4-hydroxybutylakrylat og pentaerytritoltriakrylat samt sådanne allylforbindelser som diallylftalat, diallylmaleat, triallylisocyanurat og ætylenglykoldiallylæter. Eventuelt 15 kan disse forbindelser blandes med eventuelt mindre mængder af monomerer såsom akrylnitril, metakrylnitril, akrylamid, metakrylamid, Ν,Ν-disubstituerede akrylamider og metakrylamider, vinylacetat, ravsyredivinylester, iso-butylvinylæter, 1,4-butandioldivinylæter, styren, alkyl-20 styrener, halogenstyrener, divinylbenzen, vinylnaftalen og N-vinylpyrrolidon.
Egnede fotoigangsættere er fx aromatiske karbonyl-forbindelser såsom benzil, benzildimetylketal, acetofenon, substituerede acetofenoner, tioxanton og klortioxanton.
25 Det foretrækkes at bruge benzofenon. Eventuelt kan man bruge farvede forbindelser såsom aromatiske azo-forbindelser og forbindelser såsom benzoin og ætere deraf såsom metylæteren, ætylæteren, propylæteren eller t-bu-tylæteren. Der kan også bruges blandinger af fotoigang-30 sættere. Fotoigangsætteren er som regel til stede i en mængde på 0,05-10 vægt%, regnet på mængden af det UV-hær-delige bindemiddel.
De tetrahydrooxozaforbindelser der skal bruges som accelerator i fotoigangsættersystemet kan være lav-35 molekylære, fx 3-propyltetrahydro-l,3-oxazin, 4-propyl-oxazolidin, 5-metyloxazolidin, 2,2-dimetyloxazolidin, l-butyl-2,2-dimetyloxazolidin, l-metyl-2-butyloxazolidin, 1-ætyloxazolidin, 1-æty1-2,2-dimetyloxazolidin, 1-ætyl- 5 149013 2-isopropyloxazolidin og 2-benzyl-3-propyltetrahydro-l,3-oxazin eller ifølge opfindelsen særlig fordelagtigt 2-isopropyloxazolidin, der som det ses af eksempel 3 giver god hårdhed og glans og godt udseende. Det foretræk-5 kes imidlertid at anvende en oxazolidinforbindelse hvor en eller flere oxazolidingrupper er knyttet til en oli-gomerkæde eller polymerkæde ved hjælp af nitrogenatomet.
Eksempler på oxazolidinfor- bindelser er bl.a. de i de offentliggjorte nederlandske pa-10 tentansøgninger nr. 6.915.784 og 6.915.786 omhandlede såsom ætylenglykolbisoxazolidinylpropionat, 1,4-butylen-glykol-bisoxazolidinylpropionat, butylenglykol-bisisopro-pyloxazolidinylpropionat, trimetylolpropan-trisisopro-pyloxazolidinylpropionab pentaerythritoltetraisopropyl-15 oxazolidinylpropionat, bisoxazolidinylætyladipat, bis- oxazolidinylætyl-tereftalat, bisisopropyloxazolidinylætyl-tereftalat og bisoxazolidinylætylesteren af 1,1,3-tri-metyl-5-karboxy-3-p-karboxyfenylindan. Yderligere eksempler er de akryloyloxazolidinylforbindelser som er beskrevet i US patent-20 skrift nr. 3.037.006, fx polymerer af oxazolidinætylmet-akrylat, 3-(γ-metakryloxypropyl)-tetrahydro-1,3-oxazin og 3-(p-metakryloxyætyl)-2,2-pentametylenoxazolidin. Nævnes kan tillige de hydroxylgruppeholdige polymerer af 2-vinyl-3-(fc>-hydroxy-n-alkylen)-oxazolidin, der er be-25 skrevet i DE offentliggørelsesskrift nr. 24 38 320.
Med hensyn til som acceleratorer egnede tetrahy-dro-1,3-oxazinforbindelser kan ligeledes henvises til US patentskrift nr. 3.037.006. Eksempler på sådanne forbindelser er copolymerer af 3-(γ-metakryloxypropyl)-te-30 trahydro-1,3-oxazin med en akryl- eller metakrylsyrees-ter, vinyltoluen og/eller styren, samt forestringspro-duktet af 3-(γ-hydroxypropy1)-tetrahydro-1,3-oxazin og en polyfunktionel karboxylsyre såsom adipinsyre. Når der som accelerator bruges en tetrahydro-1,3-oxazinforbin-35 delse bruges der ifølge opfindelsen fordelagtigt di- (2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-l,3-oxazinyl-2-propyl)-adipat, der har vist sig at give god hårdhed,jfr. omstående eksempel 7.

Oxazolinforbindelsen som accelerator kan ifølge opfindelsen med fordel være en akrylatoxazolidinharpiks såsom den under det i Danmark ikke indregistrerede varemærke "QR 568" kendte, hvis præcise sammensætning ikke 5 er offentligt kendt. Eksempel 5 viser at der herved opnås god hårdhed.
Acceleratoren er ifølge opfindelsen hensigtsmæssigt til stede i materialet i en mængde på 0,1-100 vægt%, regnet på mængden af det UV-hærdelige bindemiddel.
10 Sidstnævnte kan ifølge opfindelsen hensigtsmæs sigt være et addukt som angivet i krav 7.
Overtræksmaterialet kan eventuelt indeholde yderligere additiver som fx pigmentdispergeringsmidler, egaliseringsmidler, fyldstoffer, pigmenter, farvestof-15 fer, polymerisationsinhibitorer og inerte eller ikke-inerte opløsningsmidler.
Man kan påføre overtræksmaterialet på det ønskede substrat på en hvilken som helst hensigtsmæssigt måde, fx ved udvalsning, pensling, sprinkling, strømningsover-20 trækning, dypning eller sprøjtning. Overtræksmaterialet kan påføres på et hvilket som helst substrat, fx på et plastmateriale, på spånplader, på karton eller pap, på hårde eller bløde fiberplader, på træ og navnlig på metalsubstrater som overtræk i et bilmalingssystem.
25 Som UV-strålekilde kan man fx bruge en kviksølv lampe eller xenonlampe der arbejder ved højt, middelhøjt eller lavt tryk. Materialet behøver i almindelighed kun at blive udsat for bestråling i en periode på fra nogle få sekunder til nogle få minutter. Det anvendte ultravio-30 lette lys har som regel en bølgelængde på 90-600 nm.
Materialet ifølge opfindelsen skal i det følgende beskrives nærmere ved nogle eksempler. I dem er hårdheden af det hærdede overtræk målt i overensstemmelse med Persoz-metoden og udtrykkes i sekunder. Glansen og 35 udseendet bestemtes visuelt.

Eksempel 1 og 2
Blandinger af 100 vægtdele af en 60 vægt%s opløsning af adduktet af 1 mol hexametylendiisocyanat og 2 mol pentaerytritoltriakrylat i trimetylolpropantriakry-5 lat, 2 vægtdele benzofenon og som accelerator henholdsvis 3,5 vægtdele 2-isopropyloxazolidin (1) og 6,2 vægtdele dioxazolidinyl-2-ætyladipat (2) påførtes på en affedtet stålplade til en lagtykkelse på 30 μ (i hærdet tilstand)· 10 Til sammenligning blev den i eksempel 1 anvendte procedure gentaget med den forskel at der brugtes 2,0 vægtdele dimetylaminoætanol som accelerator.
Bestråling af præparatet udførtes ved hjælp af en højtrykskviksølvdamplampe (af typen HOK fremstillet 15 af Philips), idet lampen var anbragt i en afstand på 18 cm fra substratet. I alle forsøgene førtes substratet under lampen én gang med en fart på 10 m/min.
Resultaterne er vist i tabel 1.

Den samme procedure som i eksempel 1 og 2 blev gentaget, blot med den forskel at der brugtes en 70 vægt%s opløsning af reaktionsproduktet af 1 mol diglycidylæter af bisfenol A (til rådighed under navnet "Epikote'® 828 30 fra Shell) og 2 mol akrylsyre i polyætylenglykoldiakry-lat. Præparatet blev underkastet bestråling i 30 sekunder ved en middeltrykskviksølvdamplampe (type HTQ fra Philips), idet lampen var anbragt i en afstand på 40 cm fra substratet. I eksempel 3 brugtes der 2-isopropyloxa- 149613 8 zolidin og i eksempel 4 dioxazolidinylætyladipat.
Til sammenligning blev den i eksempel 3 anvendte procedure gentaget med den forskel at der brugtes dime-tylaminoætanol som accelerator i en mængde på 2,0 vægt-5 dele.
Resultaterne fremgår af tabel 2.

Eksempel 5 og 6 100 g 75 vægt%s opløsning af reaktionsproduktet -15 af 1 molekyle af adduktet af 3 molekyler hexametylendi- isocyanat og 1 molekyle vand med 2 molekyler hydroxybutyl-akrylat i en blanding af ætylglykolacetat, toluen og buty lacet at 1:1:5 blandedes med henholdsvis 33,0 g akrylat-oxazolidinharpiks (til rådighed fra Rohm and Haas under 20 handelsnavnet "QR 568"; eksempel 5) og 10,9 g dioxazoli-dinyl-2-ætyladipat (eksempel 6). Til blandingen sattes der 2 vægts benzofenon. I begge forsøg påførtes det derved vundne præparat på en affedtet stålplade i en lagtykkelse på 30 μ (i hærdet tilstand) og underkastedes 25 bestråling i 60 sekunder med en middeltrykskviksølvdamp-lampe (af typen HTQ fra Philips), der befandt sig i en afstand på 40 cm fra substratet. De hærdede lag var ikke-klæbrige. Persoz-hårdheden bestemtes straks efter bestrålingen og efter henholdsvis 1, 3 og 7 døgn. Resultater-30 ne er anført i tabel 3.
Til sammenligning tjener sammenligningseksempel C. Man gik frem som i eksempel 5, blot med den forskel at der ikke anvendtes nogen oxazolidinharpiks.

Straks efter bestrålingen var overfladen klæbrig (Per-soz-hårdhed ca. nul). Resultaterne i dette sammenlig-ningseksempel fremgår også af tabel 3.
Af de i tabel 3 viste resultater ses det at de 5 to oxazolidinforbindelser virker som acceleratorer, og af overtrækkets stigende hårdhed følger det at reaktionen af disse forbindelser med isocyanatforbindelsen ledsages af en stigning i isocyanatforbindelsens molekylvægt.

Proceduren fra eksempel 5 blev gentaget med den forskel at der brugtes 13,7 g di-(2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-l,3-oxazinyl-2-propyl)-adipat som accelerator. Straks efter 20 bestrålingen var Persoz-hårdheden 73 sekunder og efter henholdsvis 1 dag, 3 dage og 7 dage var værdierne henholdsvis 188 sekunder, 229 sekunder og 247 sekunder.
