Steam heated heat exchanger The invention relates to a
steam-heated heat exchangers, especially air heaters with steam condensation in the upper
and condensate subcooling in the lower part of the heat exchanger and control of the condensate level
by means of an outlet member controlled by a float, outside of it
of the heat exchanger arranged housing on top with the steam supply to the heat exchanger
and is connected at the bottom to the condensate space of the heat exchanger. At acquaintances
Heat exchangers of this type are based on the movement of the float through a linkage
transferred to the discharge organ located away from the float housing. This requires
a stuffing box on the float housing and one on the discharge organ. Will these stuffing boxes
so that they are tight, strongly attracted, the case easily occurs that the swimmer
is braked. He can no longer exercise his regulating influence. Flows as a result
too much condensate, so the room, which is to serve the subcooling, from
Steam is blown empty, and even unused steam can pass through the outlet device
escape. If too little or no condensate drains off, the heat exchanger will drown
and becomes ineffective. Are the stuffing boxes tightened so that the linkage
remains movable, the stuffing boxes will drip easily and when shut off
Steam valve
in front of the heat exchanger, if negative pressure builds up in it, let air pass through it,
which has a corrosive effect.
These disadvantages are avoided by the invention. she consists
primarily because the supercooled condensate is drained through the float housing
to which it is fed from below as free of eddies as possible. As a result, this can
provided on the float housing outlet for the condensate from the float by means of
a linkage lying in the float room can be controlled. In addition, the drainage organ
arranged so deep below the liquid level that the condensate to be discharged
is discharged practically without heating through the upper hot condensate layer.
The float housing is arranged at such a height next to the heat exchanger,
that the float is at the level of the condensate mirror to be held in the heat exchanger
is located. By changing the height at which the float housing is in relation to the
Heat exchanger is arranged, the size of the condensate subcooling used
Part of the heat exchanger can be changed.
The drawing shows the invention using an example. The heating steam enters the upper steam distribution chamber g of the heat exchanger a through the nozzle f in order to get into the tubes or finned tubes h flushed with outside air, in the upper part of which the steam condenses while in the lower part the condensate is subcooled. This then passes, cooled, into the lower collecting chamber i and further through the line k into the lower part of the condensate drain vessel b. In the lower part of this vessel b , the plate m is provided which, together with the bottom of the vessel, forms a disc diffuser through which the condensate passes into the water mass present in vessel b without causing eddies. Above the plate m , the outlet element c is provided on the vessel b, which controls the condensate discharge by means of a float d, which is located as high above the outlet c as the condensate level in the heat exchange tubes h is to be kept. To further avoid eddies, the feed line for the condensate to the outlet member is designed so that it begins with a relatively wide section. In the upper part of the vessel b there is steam which is supplied through the line e from the steam distribution chamber g or the steam supply line. As a result, the float d and the top layer of the condensate present in the vessel b are heated to the steam temperature, but not the condensate flowing through the lower part of the vessel b. This is therefore discharged undercooled. This effect would not be achieved if the outlet element c is in the vicinity of the float d or if the condensate in the vessel b were swirled through, because the condensate would then heat up again on the steam flowing in through the line e. But it is up to you to make the distance between outlet c and float d sufficiently large, since outlet c can also be lower than the lower part of the heat exchanger, i.e. lower than chamber i. Mixing of the lower cold condensate with the upper warm one at the level of the float can also be further prevented by pulling the vessel b between float d and outlet element c so that only a narrow tube surrounds the float rod. If the heat exchanger is not in operation for a longer period, the condensate can be discharged through an outlet n in order to prevent freezing.
