Cover for a sauna cabin

The innovation concerns a cover for a sauna cabin according to the generic term of claim 1.

Such covers are already known, and are usually made of soft plastic or fabric. However, these known covers are relatively difficult to handle because the user has to attach the cover to the outer edge of the cabin from the inside of the cabin. The user therefore first goes into the interior of the sauna cabin and closes it, and then attaches the previously known covers to the cabin wall by attaching the plastic or fabric cover to the outside of the cabin wall using snap fasteners. This is difficult and relatively time-consuming to handle.

After attaching the cover, which could only be done by the user turning his body several times inside the cabin, a neck brace or helmet had to be attached using a zipper if necessary, whereby the user had to operate a circumferential zipper through the central opening of the cover.

In some cases, the user had to reach with his hands through the central recess or opening in the cover in order to counteract it from the other side if necessary.

The present innovation is therefore based on the task of providing a cover for a sauna cabin of the type mentioned above in such a way that

to further develop it so that it is much easier and safer to handle.

To solve the problem, the innovation is characterized in that the cover is made of two parts made of relatively rigid plastic shells, which are connected to one another via a hinge, with the central opening for the user's head being provided in one shell.

The subject of this innovation therefore achieves several advantages at the same time.

Due to the relatively rigid design of the cover, this cover is relatively easy to handle in the form of a plate, does not collapse when handled like the previously known plastic or fabric covers and can therefore be transported like a plate and placed on the surrounding edge of the sauna cabin.

The articulated connection of the two bowls has the advantage that the smaller bowl can be placed on the surrounding edge of the sauna cabin while the other bowl is still folded up.

This has the advantage that the user sitting inside the sauna cabin now has enough freedom of movement to close the sauna cabin.

He then takes the plate-shaped upper part, folds up the larger part and places the folded-down lower part on the surrounding edge of the sauna cabin, which is now easy and safe, because this part as a bowl is relatively small and centers itself through

the indentations to be described below, which are formed in the upper part at a certain distance from the edge.

After the user has placed the smaller part of the upper part centrally on the surrounding edge of the sauna cabin, he folds down the larger bowl, causing his head to pass through the central opening of the second, larger part, and no further centering work is then required, because by placing the smaller part on, the sauna cabin is already pre-shaped and centered in such a way that the larger bowl can be folded up onto the remaining edge of the sauna cabin without any further handling assistance.

This makes operation significantly easier.

If the user so wishes, he has already either buttoned a neck brace into the central recess or unbuttoned a helmet.

The sauna cabin is now ready for use.

Another important advantage of this innovation is that a thermometer is integrated into the upper part of the small bowl, with its visible surface facing the observer. Since this thermometer is arranged raised above the surface of the cover, a recessed housing formed in the opposite part of the cover ensures that the two parts can be folded flush against one another without the housing for the thermometer, which protrudes above the surface of the cover, hitting the opposite part of the cover.

It is preferred if the entire cover or plastic shell consists of a deep-drawn plastic part, which is particularly easy and inexpensive to manufacture and which has the required mechanical rigidity at a low weight.

The innovation will now be described in more detail using an example.

Figure 1 shows the cover according to the invention in use with a neck brace in a perspective front view;

Figure 2 shows the same cover as in Figure 1 using a hood;

Figure 3 shows a section through a cover according to the invention along a central longitudinal line through Figure 2.

The cover 4 consists of two shell-shaped parts or plastic shells 26, 27, which are connected to one another via a hinge connection. In a preferred embodiment, the hinge is designed as a shell hinge 13, which results in a particularly reliable, articulated connection of these two parts 26, 27. With such a shell hinge, there is no danger of entrapment; it protects against injuries thanks to rounded edges and it looks attractive.

At a certain distance from the edge 5, recesses 6 are formed in the cover surface 8 around the circumference of the part 26, so that the inner edge of the respective recess 6 in conjunction with the surrounding edge defines a recess 7 on the cover 4, which serves for the central insertion of the cabin wall 1.

The cabin wall 1 consists of plastic profiles 2, which are provided with a covering material 3 on their inside.

The upper front side of the cabin wall 1 is surrounded by a clamping profile 28, which ensures a force-fitting fit of the recess 7 of the upper part 4 on the upper side of the cabin wall 1.

In addition, this clamping profile 28 protects against injuries on the upper front side of the cabin wall and connects the interior paneling of the cabin wall with the exterior paneling.

This means that an excellent centricity of the cabin wall to the upper part 4 is achieved because such indentations 6 are distributed at the beginning in the upper part 8.

The cover surface 8 then merges into a raised housing 9, on the front of which a thermometer 10 is installed, which is inclined in the direction of the user.

On the underside, the housing 9 is covered by a cover 11, through which a sensor 12 passes, which thus has direct access to the inside of the cabin.

The cover surface 8 then merges into one hinge shell 14, which with the opposite hinge shell 15 forms the other shell 27.

Forms a shell hinge 13. The hinge pins 16 are arranged on the outside of the front sides.

The shell 27 has a housing 17 beyond the shell hinge 13, which is recessed and which, when swiveled up, e.g. the shell 26 in the direction of arrow 18 against the shell 27, ensures that the housing 9 for the thermometer 10 is completely accommodated in the housing 17.

This protects the thermometer 10 against damage when folded.

The cover surface 8 of the shell 27 then merges into a circumferential groove 19 which extends around the central opening 25. The groove catches condensate from the hood 22.

Beyond the channel, the cover forms a circumferential collar 20 which defines the central opening 25. Snap fasteners 21 are arranged around the circumference of the collar 20.

In the embodiment according to Figure 1, a collar 24, preferably made of terry cloth, is buttoned in using the described snap fastener connections, while according to Figure 2 the hood 22 is unbuttoned. For this purpose, the hood 22 has a circumferential, radially protruding attachment 23, on the underside of which snap fasteners of the same type are arranged.

Beyond the central opening 25, the recesses 6 are again provided so that the larger shell 27 can also be placed centrally on the surrounding cabin wall 1 without any special centering work.
