Gemäß einer weiteren vorteilhaften Ausgestaltung weist die Dunstabzugshaube eine nach unten strahlende Infrarotstrahlungsquelle, wie z.B. eine Infrarotlampen oder einen Rohrheizkörper auf, sodaß sie zur Warmhaltung herangezogen werden kann oder bei entsprechender Leistung auch Speisen auf dem Tisch überbacken kann. So kann durch Verwendung des so geschaffenen Gerätes in einem daruntergestellten Topf mit einem überbackenen Gericht dieses nach der ersten Entnahme der überbackenen obersten Schicht bis zum Nachservieren neu überbacken werden.
