Description
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine neue Polyaminzusammensetzung zur Verwendung als Rohstoff bei der Herstellung von Kunststoffen, z. B. beim Reaktionsspritzguss (RIM) von Polyharnstoff.
- Polyoxyalkylenpolyamine finden Verwendung als Rohstoffe bei der Herstellung von Polyharnstoff-Elastomeren und bei RIM wie auch beim Härten von Epoxyharzen. Es ist bekannt, dass, wenn Polyoxyalkylenpolyamine so modifiziert sind, dass sie mehrere sekundäre Aminogruppen an den Enden der Moleküle aufweisen, die resultierenden Produkte eine hervorragende Reaktionsfähigkeit mit Polyisocyanat-Verbindungen im Vergleich zu den entsprechenden primären Polyoxyalkylenpolyaminen aufweisen und dass deshalb die erhältlichen Polyharnstoff-Produkte hervorragende Eigenschaften aufweisen können.
- Aromatische Diamine und Xylylendiamine werden auch in der Polyharnstoff-RIM und ähnlichen Verfahren eingesetzt. Die Modifizierung ihrer primären Aminogruppen zu sekundären Aminogruppen wirkt sich vorteilhaft auf die Reaktionsfähigkeit mit Polyisocyanaten sowie auch auf die Eigenschaften der erhältlichen Polyharnstoff-Produkte aus.
- Ein Verfahren des Standes der Technik zur Herstellung sekundärer aminendiger Polyoxyalkylenpolyamine ist in den japanischen Offenlegungsschriften (Kokai) mit den Nummern 33425/1990 und 127425/1939 offenbart. Dieses Verfahren umfasst die hydrierende Aminolyse der entsprechenden Polyoxyalkylenpolyamine mit einem primären Amin. Dieses Verfahren hat den Nachteil, dass die Reaktion nur unter Hochdruck und hoher Temperatur in einem Autoklav in Gegenwart eines Katalysators wie z.B. Raney-Nickel stattfindet. Ein anderes bekanntes Verfahren ist in der japanischen Offenlegungsschrift (Kokai) Nr. 153931/1990 beschrieben und umfasst die Alkylierung der entsprechenden primären Polyamine mit Alkylhalogeniden. Auch dieses Verfahren weist bestimmte Nachteile auf, da entweder ein Teil des primären Ausgangsamins bei der Bindung des Wasserstoffhalogenid-Nebenprodukts verbraucht wird, oder ein Überschuss an säurebindendem Mittel, wie Alkalimetallhydroxid, zugegeben werden muss. Außerdem ist die Umsetzungsgeschwindigkeit zu sekundären Aminogruppen relativ niedrig, und das Alkylierungsmittel ist relativ teuer.
- Das Alkylierungsverfahren kann auch für die Herstellung von sekundären aromatischen Diaminen und Xylylendiaminen aus den entsprechenden primären Aminen angewendet werden, wie in der japanischen Offenlegungsschrift (Kokai) Nr 311116/1990 bzw. 251515/1990 beschrieben wird. Zusätzlich zu den verschiedenen oben diskutierten Nachteilen, verläuft die Alkylierung der primären Diamine dieses Typs nur schrittweise, wobei die eine primäre Aminogruppe nur unter Schwierigkeiten alkyliert werden kann, nachdem die andere primäre Aminogruppe alkyliert worden ist. Dementsprechend wird dieses Verfahren in der Praxis für die Herstellung assymmetrischer Diamine, worin eine Aminogruppe primär und die andere sekundär ist, angewendet.
- Alle der oben diskutierten Verfahren des Standes der Technik führen im Allgemeinen zu einem sekundären Amin, dessen zweiter Kohlenwasserstoff-Substituent ein Alkyl oder Aralkyl ist, der keine funktionelle Gruppe aufweist. Im Gegensatz dazu beschreibt die japanische Offenlegungsschrift (Kokai) Nr. 251515/1990 die Michael-Reaktion eines Polyamins mit einem acrylischen oder methacrylischen Monomer zur Umwandlung von niedermolekularen, geradkettigen, aliphatischen primären Diaminen oder alicyclischen primären Diaminen in die entsprechenden sekundären Diamine, die keine fünrionellen Gruppen aufweisen. Die Umsetzungsprodukte haben eine sekundäre Aminogruppe, deren zweiter Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituent eine fünktionelle Gruppe aufweist, die von dem acrylischen oder methacrylischen Monomer stammt. In eigenen Versuchen hat es sich jedoch gezeigt, dass der Gehalt der Produkte an sekundärem Amin in diesem Verfahren unbefriedigend gering ist, insbesondere dann, wenn das Monomer ein Methacryl-Monomer ist.
- Ferner beschreibt die EP 0 046 088 die Michael-Reaktion von Polyoxyalkylenpolyaminen mit Derivaten der Acrylsäure, wie z. B. Hydroxyethylacrylat, -methacrylat oder mit -CL-cyanoacrylat und Diethylenglycolmonoacrylat, oder mit Verbindungen, die Oxiraringe aufweisen wie Ethylenoxid, Propylenoxid, n-Butylglycidylether und Styroloxid. Die Umsetzungsprodukte können vorteilhaft als Härtungsmittel für Polyurethanzubereitungen verwendet werden.
- Dementsprechend besteht ein Bedarf an sekundären Polyarninzusammensetzungen und an Verfahren zu deren Herstellung, durch die die Nachteile der Zusammensetzungen und Verfahren nach Stand der Technik vermieden oder verbessert werden.
- Die vorliegende Erfindung stellt eine Zusammensetzung zur Verwendung bei der Herstellung von Kunststoffen zur Verfügung, die ein Polyaminprodukt umfasst, das erhältlich ist durch Umsetzung eines unter n-Butylacrylat, Isobutylacrylat, t-Butylacrylat und 2-Ethylhexylacrylat ausgewählten Acrylatesters mit einem unter Polyoxypropylentriamin, Tolylendiamin und Diethyltolylendiamin ausgewählten Polyamin, um die primären Aminogruppen des Polyamins wenigstens teilweise zu sekundären Aminogruppen der Formel
- -NH-CH&sub2;-CH&sub2;-COOR
- umzuwandeln,
- worin R für eine n-Butyl-, Isobutyl-, t-Butyl- oder 2-Ethylhexyl-Gruppe steht.
- Die Herstellung der Polyaminzusaminensetuung der vorliegenden Erfindung bezieht die folgende Michael-Reaktion ein:
- -NH&sub2; + CH&sub2;=CH-COOR T -NH-CH&sub2;-CH&sub2;-COOR
- Entsprechend unterscheidet sich das sekundäre Polyaminj, das durch diese Reaktion gebildet wird, in der Strukrr von bekannten sekundären Ammen dadurch, dass der zweite Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituent der ersteren eine Elektronen entziehende Gruppe enthält.
- Die primären Ausgangspolymine der vorliegenden Erfindung umfassen Polyoxypropylentriamine, Tolylendiarnine und Diethyltolylendiamine, die herkömmlicherweise bei der Herstellung von Polyharnstoff-Elastomeren und bei RIM eingesetzt werden.
- Die Polyoxypropyltriamine mit mehreren primären Aminogruppen an den Enden des Moleküls können, wie in dem belgischen Patent Nr. 677124 offenbart, durch hydrierende Aminolyse der entsprechenden Polyoxypropylenpolyole hergestellt werden. Die Polyoxypropylenpolyole können ihrerseits hergestellt werden durch Additionspolymerisation eines Alkylenoxids wie Ethylenoxid, Propylenoxid, Butylenoxid, Tetrahydrofuran oder einer Mischung davon unter Einsatz eines Initiators in Gegenwart basischer Katalysatoren wie Alkylimetallhydroxide. Gebräuchliche Initiatoren umfassen Wasser; Polyole wie Ethylenglykol, Di-, Tri- oder andere Polyethylenglykole, Propylenglykol, Di-, Tri- oder andere Polypropylenglykole, Glycerin, Diglycerin, Pentaerythritol, Sorbit und Sucrose; Polyphenole wie Bisphenol-A, Bisphenol-S und Resorcin; und Alkanolamine wie Diethanolamin und Triethanolamin. Polyoxypropylenpolyole, die ein mittleres Molekulargewicht von 200 bis 10 000, bevorzugt von 400 bis 8 000, werden üblicherweise eingesetzt.
- Die Polyoxypropylentriamine sind im Handel erhältlich, einschließlich der Polyoxypropylentriamine Texrim TR-5050 (Texaco Chemical, Aminäquivalent etwa 1930) und Jeffamine T-403 (Texaco Chemical, Aminäquivalent etwa 160). Diese handelsüblichen Produkte werden bevorzugt in der vorliegenden Erfindung verwendet.
- Für die vorliegende Erfindung geeignete aromatische Diamine umfassen Tolylendiamine oder Diethyltolylendiamine wie 2,4- oder 2,6-Diaminotoluol, 2,4- oder 2,6-Diamino-1-methyl-3,5- diethylbenzol. Eine Reihe aromatischer Diamine sind im Handel erhältlich, einschließlich derjenigen, die unter dem Namen Etacure 100 (Asano Chemicals, eine Mischung aus 1 -Methyl- 3,5-diethyl-2,4-diaminobenzol und 1-Methyl,3,5-diethyl-2,6-diaminobenzol) und Tolylendiamin Mitsui Toatsu Chemicals, 2,4-Diamintoluol) verkauft werden. Diese Handelsprodukte werden bevorzugt in der vorliegenden Erfindung verwendet.
- Wie schon beschrieben wird erfindungsgemäß als ethylenisch ungesättgte Verbindung oder Monomer einen Acrylatester, ausgewählt unter n-Butylacrylat, Isobutylacrylat, t-Butylacrylat und 2-Ethylhexylacrylat in der Michael-Reaktion mit den primären Polyaminen verwendet.
- Es wurde nun geflinden, dass die Michael-Reaktion des primären Polyamins und des ethylenischen Monomers durch einen sauren oder neutralen Veresterungskatalysator unerwartet verbessert werden kann.
- Beispiele für geeignete Katalysatoren umfassen anorganische oder organische Sauren wie Salzsäure, Schwefelsäure, Salpetersäure, Phosphorsäure, Propionsäure, Ameisensäure, Essigsäure, Dichloressigsäure, Trichloressigsäure, Trifluoressigsäure, Benzoesäure oder p- Toluolsulfonsäure; einheitliche Metalloxide wie Aluminiumoxid, Siliciumoxid und Nioboxid; komplexe Metalloxide wie SiO&sub2;/Al&sub2;O&sub3;, TiO&sub2;/SiO&sub2;, SiO&sub2;/La&sub2; O&sub3; und TiO&sub2;/Al&sub2; O&sub3;; Sulfide wie Zinksulfid; Sulfate wie Nickelsulfat oder Kupfersulfat; Phosphate wie Aluminiumphosphat und Titanphosphat; Chloride wie Aluminiumchlorid und Kupferchlorid; Tonerde wie saure Tonerde, Montmorillonit und Kaolin; Säuren in fester Form wie verfestigte Phosphorsäure, verfestigte Schwefelsäure und verfestigte Borsäure und saure lonentauscherharze. Dazu zählen auch zinnorganische Verbindungen wie Dibutylzinnoxid und Dibutylzinndilaurat, aluminiumorganische Verbindungen wie Aluminiumisopropylat, Mono-sec.- butoxyaluminiumdiisopropylat, Aluminiumethylat, Mummiumethylacetoacetatdiisopropylat, Aluminium-tris-ethylacetoacetat und Aluminium-bis-ethylacetoacetatmonoacetylacetonat, titanorganische Verbindungen wie Titantetraisopropylat, Titantetra-n-butylat, Titantetrakis-2- ethylhexylat, Titantetrakis-stearylat, Diisopropoxy-bis-(acetylacetonat)titan, Di-n-butoxybis(triethanol-amin)titan und Titanbislactathydroxid.
- Es wurde auch gefimden, dass die Michael-Reaktion des primären Polyoxypropylentriamins und des ethylenischen Monomers durch eine benzoide Verbindung mit wenigstens einem Elektronendonor- oder Elektronenakzeptor-Substituenten am Benzolring anstelle von oder zusätzlich zum Veresterungskatalysator verbessert werden. Chinone können zur Beschleunigung der Michael-Reaktion ebenso verwendet werden. Beispiele für verwendete Benzoidverbindungen und Chinone umfassen alkyl- oder aralkylsubstituierte Benzoide wie Toluol, Xylol, Ethylbenzol, t-Butylbenzol und Diphenylniethan; aromatische Amine wie Anilin, N,N-Dimethylanilin, Diaminotoluol, Xylidin, Diaminodiphenylmethan, Bis-(N- ethylamino)toluol und Aminonaphthalin; Hydroxylverbindungen wie Phenol, Kresol und Naphthol; Halogenverbindungen wie Fluorbenzol, Chiorbenzol, Brombenzol, Iodbenzol, Chlornaphthalin und Iodnaphthalin; Stickstoffverbindungen wie Nitrobenzol, Dinitrotoluol und Dinitronaphthalin; Cyanidverbindungen wie Benzonitrile und Naphthonitrile, Ketone wie Acetophenon und Propiophenon; Benzolverbindungen mit einer Kombination aus den genannten Substituenten; und Chinone wie Benzochinon und Naphthochinon.
- Das Verhältnis von ethylenischem Monomer zu Ausgangspolyamin kann gewünschtenfalls in einem weiten Bereich variiert werden. Das Äquivalentverhäitnis von ethylenischer Verbindung zur primären Aminverbindung kann von 0,01 bis 100, bevorzugt von 1 bis 10 betragen. Das bedeutet, dass die Gegenwart einer gewissen Menge an nicht-umgesetzten primaren Aminverbindungen oder ethylenischen Verbindungen im Reaktionsgemisch toleriert werden kann.
- Die Menge der Veresterungskatalysatoren kann, sofern verwendet, variieren, sollte aber nicht mehr betragen als die katalytisch wirksame Menge.
- Die Menge aromatischer Verbindungen mit Elektronen spendender oder entziehender Gruppe sollte nicht größer sein als das tolerierbare Limit in der modifizierten Polyoxypropyltriamin Verbindung. Diese Menge beträgt im Allgemeinen nicht mehr als ein Äquivalent bezüglich der primären Aminfunktion des Ausgangspolyoxypropylentriamins.
- Die Michael-Reaktion kann bei einer Temperatur von Raumtemperatur bis etwa 150 ºC durchgeführt werden. Nach der Reaktion kann das Reaktionsgemisch z. B. als Rohmaterial im Polyharnstoff-RIM-Verfahren verwendet werden. Umfasst das Reaktionsgemisch nichtumgesetztes ethylenisches Monomer und/oder Katalysator, können diese Verunreinigungen durch Polymerisation, Neutralisation oder andere brauchbare Methoden entfernt werden.
- Die folgenden Beispiele sollen die vorliegende Erfindung näher erläutern. Alle darin genannten Teil- und Prozentangaben sind, falls nicht anders angezeigt, auf das Gewicht bezogen.
- Ein 500 ml-Kolben mit einem Rührer, Rücklaufkühler, Tropftrichter, Thermometer und einem Stickstoffeinlass wurde mit 386 g Texrim TR-5050 (tritänktionales Polyoxyalkylenpolyamin, Aminäquivalent 1930, mittleres Molargewicht 5000) befüllt und auf 120 ºC erhitzt. Hierzu gab man innerhalb 4 Stunden tropfenweise 73,6 g 2-Ethylhexylacrylat und ließ weitere 24 Stunden reagieren. Der Umsatz des Reaktionsgemischs in sekundäres Amin wurde mit dem Salicylaldehyd-Verfahren gemäß dem modifiziertem Wagner-Verfahren (C. D. Wagner et al., J. Am. Chem. Soc. 69, 2609-2611 (1947)) bestimmt. Das Ergebnis wird in Tabelle 1 gezeigt. Der Umsatz ist in Prozent sekundären Amins bezogen auf die Gesamtaminzahl dargestellt.
- In denselben Reaktor wie in Beispiel 1 gab man 386 g Texrim TR-5050 und 19,8 g Diaminodiphenylmethan. Dann tropfte man 4 Stunden 2-Ethylhexylacrylat zu und ließ weitere 36 Stunden reagieren. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 1 angegeben.
- Beispiel 2 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterscbied, dass Diaminodiphenylmethan durch 18,6 g Anilin ersetzt wurde. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 1 angegeben.
- Beispiel 2 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterschied, dass Diaminodiphenylmethan durch 21,2 g Ethylbenzol ersetzt wurde. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 1 angegeben.
- Beispiel 2 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterschied, dass 2-Ethylhexylacrylat durch 51,2 g n- Butylacrylat ersetzt wurde und dass die Reaktion 20 Stunden fortgesetzt wurde. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 1 angegeben.
- In denselben Reaktor wie in Beispiel 1 gab man 200 g Jeffamin T-403 (trifunktionelles Polyoxypropylentriamin, Aminäquivalent 160, mittleres Molargewicht 400). Hierzu gab man innerhalb 2 Stunden tropfenweise 230 g 2-Ethylhexylacrylat und ließ weitere 3 Stunden reagieren. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 1 angegeben.
- Derselbe Raktor wie in Beispiel 1 wurde mit 386 g Texrim TR-5050 und 0,6 g Essigsäure gefüllt und auf 120 ºC erhitzt. Hierzu tropfte man innerhalb 4 Stunden 73,6 g 2- Ethylhexylacrylat und ließ weitere 4 Stunden reagieren. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 2 angegeben.
- Beispiel 7 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterschied, dass Essigsäure durch 1,9 g Toluolsulfonsäure ersetzt wurde. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 2 angegeben.
- Beispiel 8 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterschied, dass man 2 Stunden 36,8 g 2- Ethylhexyalacrylat zutropfte und weitere 6 Stunden reagieren ließ. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 2 angegeben.
- Beispiel 8 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterschied, dass 2-Ethylhexylacrylat durch 51,2 g n- Butylacrylat ersetzt wurden. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 2 angegeben.
- Beispiel 7 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterschied, dass Essigsäure durch 20 g verfestigte Phosphorsäure E48A1 (P&sub2;O&sub5; /SiO&sub2; /TiO&sub2; -Typ der Fa. JGC Corporation) ersetzt wurden. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 2 angegeben.
- Beispiel 7 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterschied, dass Essigsäure durch 20 g Kieselsäure- Aluminiumoxid-Katalysator N631HN (JGC Corporation) ersetzt wurde. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 2 angegeben.
- Beispiel 7 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterschied, dass Essigsäure durch 3,4 g Titantetrabutylat ersetzt wurden. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 2 angegeben.
- Beispiel 7 wurde wiederholt mit dem Unterschied, dass Essigsäure durch 6,3 g Dibutylzinndilaurat ersetzt wurde. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 2 angegeben.
- Derselbe Reaktor wie in Beispiel 1 wurde mit 200 g Jeffamin T-403 und 11,9 g p- Toluolsulfonsäure befüllt und auf 80 ºC erwärmt. Hierzu tropfte man innerhalb 2 Stunden 230 g Ethylhexylacrylat und ließ weitere 3 Stunden reagieren. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 2 angegeben. Beispiel 16
- Ein 500 ml-Kolben mit einem Rührer Rücklaufkühler, Tropfirichter, Thermometer und Stickstoffeinlass wurde mit 91,5 g Diamintoluol (bifunktional, Aminäquivalent 61, Molekulargewicht 122) und 14,3 g p-Toluolsulfonsäure befüllt und auf 120ºC erhitzt. Hierzu tropfte man innerhalb 2 Stunden 192 g n-Butylacrylat und ließ weitere 12 Stunden reagieren. Das Produkt wurde hinsichtlich Bildung und prozentualer Umwandlung in sekundäres Amin mittels FT-IR Spektrometrie, Flüssigchromatographie und ¹³C-NMR untersucht. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 3 angegeben.
- Beispiel 16 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterschied, dass n-Butylacrylat durch 276 g 2- Ethylhexylacrylat ersetzt wurde. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 3 angegeben.
- Analog Beispiel 16 setzte man 133,5 g Etacure 100 (13i5(ethylamino)toluol, Aminäquivalent 89, Molekulargewicht 178 der Fa. Asano Chemicals Co., Ltd.) mit 192 g n-Butylacrylat 24 Stunden um. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 3 angegeben.
- Beispiel 16 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterschied, dass p-Toluolsulfonsäure durch 4,5 g Essigsäure ersetzt wurde. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 3 angegeben.
- Beispiel 16 wurde wiederholt, mit dem Unterschied, dass p-Toluolsulfonsäure durch 20 g verfestigte Phosphorsäure E48A1 ersetzt wurde. Der Umsatz ist in Tabelle 3 angegeben. Tabelle 1

Claims (4)
1. Zusammensetzung zur Verwendung bei der Herstellung von
Kunststoffen, umfassend ein Polyaminprodukt, das
erhältlich ist durch Umsetzung eines unter n-Butylacrylat,
Isobutylacrylat, t-Butylacrylat und 2-Ethylhexylacrylat
ausgewählten Acrylatesters mit einem unter
Polyoxypropylentriamin, Tolylendiamin und
Diethyltolylendiamin ausgewählten Polyamin, um die
primären Aminogruppen des Polyamins wenigstens teilweise
zu sekundären Aminogruppen der Formel:
-NH-CH&sub2;-CH&sub2;-COOR
umzuwandeln,
worin R für eine n-Butyl-, Isobutyl-, t-Butyl- oder 2-
Ethylhexyl-Gruppe steht.
2. Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, worin wenigstens 30 % der
primären Aminogruppen zu sekundären Aminogruppen
umgewandelt werden.
3. Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, worin das
Polyoxypropylentriamin ein mittleres Molekulargewicht von
200 bis 10 000 besitzt.
4. Verwendung einer Zusammensetzung nach einem der Ansprüche
1 bis 3 als Reaktand für das Polyharnstoff-RIM.
