Description
- Diese Erfindung bezieht sich auf neue Schmiermittelzusammensetzungen, die hervorragende Schmiermitteleigenschaften zeigen, z.B. einen hohen Viskositätsindex. Insbesondere bezieht sich diese Erfindung auf neue Schmiermittelmischungen aus einem Schmiermittelgrundmaterial aus Poly(α-olefinen) mit hohem Viskositätsindex mit herkömmlichen Poly(α-olefinen) oder einem Mineralöl-Schmiermittelgrundmaterial.
- Aufgrund ihrer Überlegenheit gegenüber auf Mineralöl basierenden Schmiermitteln haben synthetische Poly(α-olefine) (PAO) eine große Akzeptanz und kommerziellen Erfolg erzielt. Bei der Verbesserung der Eigenschaften der Schmiermittel führten industrielle Forschungsleistungen bei synthetischen Schmiermitteln zu PAO-Fluiden, die innerhalb eines großen Temperaturbereichs vorteilhafte Viskositäten zeigen, und zwar einen verbesserten Viskositätsindex (VI), wobei sie ebenfalls Schmierfähigkeit, Wärme- und Oxidationsbeständigkeit und einen Pourpoint zeigen, die gleich oder besser als beim Mineralöl sind. Diese relativ neuen synthetischen Schmiermittel verringern die mechanische Reibung, verbessern den mechanischen Wirkungsgrad innerhalb des gesamten Spektrums der mechanischen Belastungen von abgenutzen Getrieben bis zu Teilantrieben und dies gilt innerhalb eines größeren Bereichs von Umgebungsbedingungen beim Betrieb als beim Mineralöl. Diese PAO werden durch Polymerisation von 1-Alkenen unter Anwendung typischer Lewis-Säure- oder Natta-Katalysatoren hergestellt. Ihre Herstellung und Eigenschaften werden von J. Brennan in Ind. Eng. Chem. Prod. Res. Dev. 1980, 19, S. 2-6 beschrieben. Verbesserte Schmiermitteleigenschaften durch die Einarbeitung von PAO werden ebenfalls von J. A. Brennan in US Patenten 3 382 291, 3 742 082 und 3 769 363 beschrieben.
- Bei der üblichen Praxis der Schmiermitteltechnik wurden PAC mit einer Vielzahl funktioneller Chemikalien, Oligomeren und Hochpolymeren und anderen auf synthetischem Öl und Mineralöl basierenden Schmiermitteln vermischt, um die Schmiermitteleigenschaften zu verleihen oder zu verbessern, die für Anwendungszwecke, wie Schmiermittel für Motoren, Hydraulikfluide, Getriebeschmiermittel usw., notwendig sind. Mischungen und deren Komponenten werden in Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology, 3. Ausg., Bd. 14., S. 477-526 beschrieben. Ein besonderes Ziel bei der Formulierung von Mischungen ist die Verbesserung des Viskositätsindex (VI) durch Zusatz van Mitteln zur Verbesserung des VI, die typischerweise synthetische organische Moleküle mit hohem Molekulargewicht sind. Obwohl diese Mittel zur Verbesserung des VI bei der Verbesserung des Viskositätsindex effektiv sind, hat sich gezeigt, daß sie den Mangel haben, daß ihr eigentliches Merkmal des hohen Molekulargewichtes, wodurch sie als Mittel zur Verbesserung des VI von Vorteil sind, dieser Mischung bei praktischen Anwendungen auch eine Anfälligkeit bei der Scherstabilität verleihen. Dieser Mangel schränkt den vorteilhaften Anwendungsbereich bei vielen Mitteln zur Verbesserung des VI deutlich ein. Ihre Nützlichkeit wird außerdem durch die Kosten beeinträchtigt, da sie relativ teure polymere Substanzen sind, die einen beträchtlichen Anteil der abschließenden Schmiermittelmischung darstellen. Folglich forschen die in der Schmiermitteltechnik Arbeitenden weiter nach Schmiermittelmischungen mit hohem VI, die bei der praktischen Anwendung gegenüber dem Abbau durch Scherkräfte weniger anfällig sind, während sie die anderen wichtigen Eigenschaften, z.B. Wärme- und Oxidationsbeständigkeit, beibehalten.
- Kürzlich wurde eine neue Klasse von PAO- Schmiermittelzusammensetzungen erhalten, die hier nachfolgend als HVI-PAO bezeichnet werden, die überraschend hohe Viskositätsindizes besitzen. Diese neuen PAO-Schmiermittel werden besonders durch ein geringes Verhältnis der Methyl- zu den Methylengruppen, und zwar niedrige Verzweigungsverhältnisse, gekennzeichnet, wie es hier später beschrieben werden wird. Diese einzigartige Struktur bietet neue Möglichkeiten zur Formulierung von deutlich überlegenen und neuen Schmiermittelmischungen.
- Diese Erfindung liefert Schmiermittelmischungen mit überraschend verbesserten Viskositätsindizes, die hydriertes HVI-PAO mit einem Verzweigungsverhältnis von weniger als 0,19 und ein flüssiges Schmiermittel umfassen, das aus Mineralöl, hydriertem PAO, Vinylpolymeren, Polyfluorkohlenstoffen, Polychlorfluorkohlenstoffen, Polyestern, Polycarbonaten, Silikonen, Polyurethanen, Polyacetalen, Polyamiden, Polythiolen, deren Copolymeren, Terpolymeren und Mischungen davon entnommen wurde. Wenn ein Schmiermittel mit geringer Viskosität mit einem Schmiermittel mit hoher Viskosität und hohem VI vermischt wird, das aus α-Olefinen erzeugt wurde, die C&sub6;-C&sub2;&sub0;-Atome enthalten, haben die resultierenden Mischungen überraschenderweise hohe Viskositätsindizes und niedrige Pourpoints. Das Schmiermittel mit hohem Viskositätsindex, das als Folge der Vermischung von HVI-PAO und PAO erzeugt wurde, hat ein viel geringeres Molekulargewicht als ein herkömmliches polymeres Mittel zur Verbesserung des VI, es bietet folglich die Möglichkeit einer größeren Scherstabilität.
- Diese HVI-PAO mit einem Verzweigungsverhältnis von weniger als 0,19, die zur Herstellung der Mischungen der vorliegenden Erfindung angewendet werden, können hydrierte C&sub3;&sub0;H&sub6;&sub2;- Kohlenwasserstoffe umfassen.
- In den Zeichnungen stellt die Fig. 1 einen Vergleich der VI gegenüber der Viskosität von Mischungen, HVI-PAO und handelsüblichem PAO dar.
- Fig. 2 und 3 vergleichen die Zunahme des VI von Mischungen aus HVI-PAO mit PAO gegenüber einer Mischung mit PAO. Fig. 4 vergleicht die Pourpoints dieser Mischungen.
- Fig. 5 vergleicht die Verbesserung des VI des Materials 142 (Definition) mit dem PAO-Material 751 (Definition) im Verhältnis zu HVI-PAO.
- Fig. 6 vergleicht VI und Viskosität bei Versuchsmischungen mit den theoretischen Mischungsgleichungen.
- Die neuen synthetischen Schmiermittelgrundmaterialien der vorliegenden Erfindung werden erhalten, indem ein Schmiermittelgrundmaterial mit geringer Viskosität mit HVI-PAO mit einem sehr hohen Viskositätsindex gemischt wird. Das Schmiermittelgrundmaterial mit geringer Viskosität, typischerweise mit einer Viskosität zwischen 1,5 und 50 mm²/s bei 100ºC, kann synthetisches PAO, jedes herkömmliche Mineralöl-Schmiermittelmaterial, das von Erdöl abgeleitet wurde, oder ein anderes synthetisches Schmiermittelmaterial sein. Dieses HVI-PAO-Schmiermittelgrundmaterial mit hoher Viskosität, typischerweise mit einer Viskosität von 10 bis 500 mm²/s bei 100ºC und einem sehr hohen VI von mehr als 130, wird aus α-Olefinen, 1-Alkenen mit C&sub6; bis C&sub2;&sub0; entweder allein oder in Mischung über einen Katalysator aus aktiviertem Chrom auf Silicat hergestellt. Dieses Grundmaterial mit hoher Viskosität und hohem VI, HVI-PAO, wird außerdem dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es ein Verzweigungsverhältnis von weniger als 0,19 aufweist. Wenn dieses HVI-PAO-Grundmaterial mit hoher Viskosität mit einem oder mehreren Schmiermittelgrundmaterialien mit geringer Viskosität vermischt wird, hat das resultierende Schmiermittel einen überraschend hohen Viskositätsindex und geringe Pourpoints. Diese PAO- Schmiermittel mit hohem VI, HVI-PAO, mit einem Verzweigungsverhältnis von weniger als 0,19 sind bessere Mischungskomponenten als handeslübliches PAO, das oft zur Verbesserung des VI verwendet wird. Diese HVI-PAO sind herkömmlichen Mitteln zur Verbesserung des VI überlegen, z.B. Polybuten und Polyacrylate, da die daraus hergestellte Mischung ein viel geringeres Molekulargewicht hat und folglich eine verbesserte Scherstabilität zeigt. Dieses HVI-PAO hat eine größere Oxidations- und Hydrolysebeständigkeit als andere Mittel zur Verbesserung des VI.
- Das erfindungsgemäße HVI-PAO-Schmiermittelmischmaterial kann durch Oligomerisation von 1-Alkenen hergestellt werden, wie es später beschrieben werden wird, wobei diese 1-Alkene 6 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatome aufweisen, um einen Viskositätsbereich von 8 bis 1000 mm²/s bei 100ºC zu ergeben. Die Oligomere können Homopolymere oder Copolymere dieser 1-Alkene mit C&sub6;-C&sub2;&sub0;, oder physikalische Mischungen von Homopolymeren und Copolymeren sein. Sie werden durch ihr Verzweigungsverhältnis von weniger als 0,19, einen Pourpoint von weniger als -15ºC und außerdem durch ein Zahlenmittel des Molekulargewichts im Bereich von 300 bis 70 000 gekennzeichnet.
- Im Falle von Mischungen aus PAO mit HVI-PAO wird die PAO- Komponente des Grundmaterials mit geringer Viskosität, oder allgemein bekanntes PAO, aus üblichen Quellen, z.B. von Mobil Chemical Co., mit einem Viskositätsbereich von 1,5 bis 50 mm²/s bei 100ºC erhalten. Dieses handelsübliche Material wird typischerweise durch Oligomerisation von 1-Alken in Gegenwart von Bortrifluorid, Aluminiumchlorid oder einem Natta- Katalysator hergestellt und durch ein Verzweigungsverhältnis von mehr als 0,19 und Viskositätsindizes gekennzeichnet, die deutlich geringer als beim HVI-PAO sind.
- Andere flüssige Schmiermittel, die als Mischungskomponenten mit HVI-PAO geeignet sind, umfassen Mineralöl der Schmiermittelqualität aus Erdöl, das typischerweise hydrierte C&sub3;&sub0;+-Kohlenwasserstoffe umfaßt. Weitere vorteilhafte HVI-PAO- Mischungskomponenten umfassen hydrierte Polyolefine wie Polyisobutylen und Polypropylen und ähnliche; Vinylpolymere, wie Polymethylmethacrylat und Polyvinylchlorid; Polyfluorkohlenstoffe, wie Polytetrafluorethylen und Polychlorfluorkohlenstoffe, wie Polychlorfluorehtylen; Polyester, wie Polyethylenterphthalat und Polyethylenadipat; Polycarbonate, wie Polybisphenol A-carbonat; Polyurethane, wie Polyethylensuccinoylcarbamat; Silikone; Polyacetale, wie Polymethylen; Polyamide, wie Poylcaprolactam. Die oben genannten Polymere umfassen Copolymere davon mit bekannter Zusammensetzung, die vorteilhafte Schmiermitteleigenschaften zeigen, oder dar Mischung Dispersions-, Korrosionsschutz- oder andere Eigenschaften verleihen. In anderen Fällen können die Mischungen andere Zusätze umfassen, wie sie in der bereits zitierten Entgegenhaltung von Kirk-Othmer beschrieben sind.
- Wenn es nicht anders aufgeführt ist, beziehen sich die hier erläuterten auf HVI-PAO, PAO und Mineralöl basierenden Schmiermittel vorzugsweise auf hydrierte Materialien, die für die dem Fachmann bekannte Schmiermittelherstellung zeitgemäß sind. Nicht hydriertes HVI-PAO mit hoher Viskosität und starker Nichtsättigung ist jedoch ausreichend stabil, damit es als Schmiermittelgrundmaterial verwendet werden kann.
- Die folgenden Beispiele erläutern die Anwendung der vorliegenden Erfindung bei der Herstellung von Mischungen von Schmiermitteln mit hoher Viskosität und hohem Viskositätsindex durch Vermischung von HVI-PAO mit einem herkömmlichen handelsüblichen PAO. Die für den Mischversuch verwendeten Proben haben die folgenden viskosimetrischen Eigenschaften: Viskosimetrische Eigenschaften Probe Viskosität mm² /s ,40ºC Viskosität mm²/s ,100ºC Mobil SHF-61 Mineralöl Mobil SHF-1001
- Probe A: 4 g eines Katalysators aus Cr (1 Gew.-%) auf Siliciumdioxid, bei 600ºC mit Luft kalziniert und bei 350ºC mit CO reduziert, wurde in einem Kolben mit 63 g 1-Decen vermischt. Diese Mischung wurde 16 Stunden lang unter N&sub2;- Atmosphäre in einem Ölbad mit 100ºC erwärmt. Das Schmiermittelprodukt wurde durch Filtration erhalten, um den Katalysator zu entfernen, und destilliert, um die Komponenten zu entfernen, die bei 0,1 mmHg unterhalb von 120ºC sieden. Die Ausbeute des Schmiermittelproduktes betrug 92%.
- Probe B: Ähnlich wie beim vorhergehenden Beispiel, außer daß 1,7 g Katalysator und 76 g 1-Decen auf 125ºC erwärmt wurden. Die Schmiermittelausbeute betrug 86%.
- Probe C: 3 g eines aktivierten Katalysators von Cr (1 Gew.-%) auf Siliciumdioxid, bei 500ºC mit Luft kalziniert und bei 350ºC mit CO reduziert, wurden in einen Rohrreaktor aus rostfreiem Stahl gepackt und auf 119 + oder 3ºC erwärmt. Durch diesen Reaktor wurde 1-Decen mit 15,3 g pro Stunde bei 1480 kPa (200 psig) geleitet. Nach einer Betriebszeit von etwa 2 Stunden wurden 27,3 g des rohen Produktes aufgefangen. Nach der Destillation wurden 19 g des Schmiermittelproduktes erhalten.
- Probe D: Im gleichen Versuch wie im oben genannten Beispiel wurden nach einer Betriebszeit von 15,5 Stunden 108 g des rohen Produktes erhalten. Nach der Destillation wurden 86 g des Schmiermittelproduktes gewonnen.
- Die PAO-Proben EM 3002 und EM 3004 wurden im Handel von Emery Chemical Co. erhalten. Mobil SHF-61 und Mobil SHF-1001 wurden von Mobil Chemical Co. erhalten. Das bei dieser Untersuchung verwendet Mineralöl ist 100' , ein lösungsmittelneutrales Mineral-Grundmaterial von Mobil Oil Corporation, Produktnummer 71326-3.
- In den Tabellen 1 bis 6 sind die Ergebnisse der Mischungsversuche unter Anwendung der oben genannten Proben gezeigt. Bei diesen Mischungsversuchen wurden die Mischungsprodukte erhalten, indem geeignete Mengen der unterschiedlichen Ausgangsmaterialien vermischt wurden.
- Beispiel 1, (Tabelle 1), 5,6 mm²/s PAO (Mobil SHF-61), mit Probe B vermischt.
- Beispiel 2, (Tabelle 2), 5,6 mm²/s PAO (Mobil SHF-61), mit Probe A vermischt.
- Beispiel 3, (Tabelle 3), 3,9 mm²/s PAO (EM 3004), mit Probe D vermischt.
- Beispiel 4, (Tabelle 4), 1,8 mm²/s PAO (EM 3002), mit Probe C vermischt.
- Beispiel 5, (Tabelle 7), Mineralöl 100" , mit Probe C vermischt.
- Kontrollbeispiel A, (Tabelle 5) , 4 mm²/s PAO, mit 100 mm²/s PAO vermischt.
- Kontrollbeispiel B, (Tabelle 6), 5,6 mm²/s PAO, mit 100 mm²/s PAO vermischt.
- Kontrollbeispiel C, (Tabelle 8), Mineralöl, mit 100 mm²/s PAO (Mobil SHF-1001) vermischt.
- Die Werte der Kontrollbeispiel A und B wurden aus der Handelsbroschüre von Synthon PAO von Uniroyal Chemical Co. erhalten.
- Wenn HVI-PAO als Mischungskomponenten verwendet wurde, hatten die resultierenden Mischungen bei einer bestimmten Viskosität einen höheren VI, als das neue PAO, das direkt aus 1-Decen über einem Cr/SiO&sub2;-Katalysator synthetisiert wurde, oder als PAO, das über sauren BF&sub3;- oder AlCl&sub3;-Katalysatoren hergestellt wurde, wie es in Fig. 1 gezeigt ist. Nachfolgend ist die Zunahme des VI bei diesen Mischungen dargestellt, wobei der VI von Ölen mit 10 mm²/s verglichen wurde, die durch verschiedene synthetische Verfahren oder durch Mischung hergestellt wurden.: Öl mit 10 mm²/s von Gewinn beim VI Direkte Synthese (handelsüblich) Direkte Synthese durch Cr/SiO&sub2; Mischungen von PAO + HVI-PAO
- Wie in den Fig. 2 und 3 gezeigt ist, hatten die resultierenden Mischungen in den Beispielen 1 bis 3 mit einer spezifischen Viskosität auch einen höheren VI als die Mischungen, die in den Kontrollbeispielen hergestellt wurden.
- Die Mischungsprodukte in den Beispielen 1 bis 4 weisen hervorragende Eigenschaften bei geringer Temperatur auf. Die Pourpoints der Mischungen in den Beispielen 1 bis 4 waren entweder niedriger oder ähnlich wie die Pourpoints der gegenwärtig handelsüblichen PAO oder der Mischungen, die in den Kontrollbeispielen hergestellt wurden, wie es in Fig. 4 gezeigt ist.
- Wenn ein Mineral-Schmiermittel, wie es bereits definiert wurde, mit einer Viskosität bei 100ºC bei 4,2 mm²/s und einem VI von 97 mit diesem PAO mit hoher Viskosität und hohem VI (HVI-PAO) vermischt wurde, wurde der VI der resultierenden Mischungen ähnlich verbessert (Beispiel 5, Tabelle 7). Fig. 5 zeigt, daß der VI der Mischungen im Beispiel 5 größer als der VI der Mischungen ist, die im Kontrollbeispiel B hergestellt wurden, wenn das Material 142 mit einem gegenwärtig handelsüblichen PAO vermischt wurde (Tabelle 8). Wenn z.B. 9,1 Gew.-% eines HVI-PAO mit 157,6 mm²/s und einem VI von 217 mit Mineralöl (VI = 97) vermischt werden, hatte das resultierende Schmiermittel einen VI und Viskositäten, die einem handelsüblichen synthetischen PAO mit geringer Viskosität, Mobil SHF-61, vergleichbar waren: 9% HVI-PAO in Mineralöl Mobil SHF-61
- Wenn HVI-PAO entweder mit synthetischem PAO oder mit Mineral- Schmiermittel vermischt wurde, haben die resultierenden Mischungen unerwartet hohe Viskositätsindizes und hervorragende Eigenschaften bei geringer Temperatur, z.B. niedrige Pourpoints. Diese Mischungen mit sehr hohem VI können als Ausgangsmaterial für Motorenöle oder Hydrauliköle verwendet werden, wobei wenig oder kein Mittel zur Verbesserung des VI zugesetzt wird. - Es hat sich gezeigt, daß empirische Mischungsgleichungen, wie die im Anhang 2 von ASTM D341-77 "Viscosity-Temperature Charts for Liquid Petroleum Products" angegebenen, das Verhältnis von Viskosität/VI nicht vorhersagen können, das bei den hier aufgeführten neuen Mischungen gefunden wurde. Obwohl die Viskosimetrie der neuen Mischungen dieser Erfindung nicht genau vorhergesagt wird, bildet die folgende Gleichung, die von M. Horio, T. Fujii und S. Onogi (J. Phys. Chem., 68 (1964)) genannt wird, die beste Annäherung:

- worin A die Mischungsviskosität, B und C die dynamischen Viskositäten der Komponenten B und C und wA und wB die Gewichtsfraktionen darstellen. Die Fig. 6 vergleicht den VI und die Viskosität der Versuchsmischungen mit Kurven, die aus bekannten Mischungsgleichungen entwickelt wurden.
- Die folgenden Beispiele dienen der weiteren Erläuterung der Herstellung und der Eigenschaften von HVI-PAO, das bei den hervorragenden Mischungen dieser Erfindung eingesetzt wurde, und der Verfahren zur Herstellung des Katalysators, der bei der Herstellung dieses HVI-PAO angewendet wurde. Durch die folgenden Verfahren kann ein HVI-PAO mit einem Gewichtsmittel des Molekulargewichts zwischen 300 und 150 000; einem Zahlenmittel des Molekulargewichts zwischen 300 und 70 000; einer Gewichtsverteilung zwischen 1 und 5 mit einem VI von mehr als 130 und einem Pourpoint unter -15ºC hergestellt werden. Das Gewichtsmittel des Molekulargewichts liegt vorzugsweise zwischen 330 und 90 000, das Zahlenmittel des Molekulargewichts vorzugsweise zwischen 300 und 30 000 und die Molekulargewichtsverteilung zwischen 1,01 und 3.
- 1,9 g Chrom(II)-acetat Cr&sub2;(OCOCH&sub3;)&sub4;.2H&sub2;O (5,58 mMol) (handelsüblich) wurden in 50 ml heißer Essigsäure gelöst. Danach wurden 50 g Kieselgel mit einer Größe von 8 bis 12 mesh, einer spezifischen Oberfläche von 300 m²/g und einem Porenvolumen von 1 ml/g zugesetzt. Der größte Teil der Lösung wurde vom Kieselgel absorbiert. Die Endmischung wurde bei Raumtemperatur eine halbe Stunde lang auf einem Rotationsverdampfer gemischt und bei Raumtemperatur in einer offenen Schale getrocknet. Der trockene Feststoff (20 g) wurde zuerst mit N&sub2; bei 250ºC in einem Röhrenofen gespült. Danach wurde die Ofentemperatur 2 Stunden lang auf 400ºC erhöht. Die Temperatur wurde dann auf 600ºC eingestellt, wobei 16 Stunden lang mit trockener Luft gespült wurde. Im Anschluß daran wurde der Katalysator unter N&sub2; auf eine Temperatur von 300ºC abgekühlt. Danach wurde 1 Stunde lang ein Strom aus reinem CO eingeführt (99,99%, von Matheson). Schließlich wurde der Katalysator unter N&sub2; auf Raumtemperatur abgekühlt und war verwendungsbereit.
- Der in Beispiel 1 hergestellte Katalysator (3,2 g) wurde in einen Rohrreaktor aus rostfreiem Stahl mit 9,5 mm (3/8'') in einer mit N&sub2; abgeschirmten Trockenkammer gepackt. Der Reaktor unter der N&sub2;-Atmosphäre wurde dann mit einem Lindberg- Einzonenofen auf 150ºC erwärmt. Vorgereinigtes 1-Hexen wurde bei 1079 kPa (140 psi) und 20 ml/h in den Reaktor gepumpt. Der flüssige Abluß wurde aufgefangen und bei 0,05 mm Hg vom unreagierten Ausgangsmaterial und dem gering siedenden Material getrennt. Die restliche klare farblose Flüssigkeit wies Viskositäten und Werte des VI auf, die fur ein Schmiermittelgrundmaterial geeignet sind.
- Ähnlich wie im Beispiel 7 wurde eine frische Probe des Katalysators in den Reaktor gegeben und 1-Hexen wurde bei 1 atm und 10 ml/h in den Reaktor gepumpt. Wie es nachfolgend gezeigt ist, wurde ein Schmiermittel mit hoher Viskosität und hohem VI erhalten. Diese Versuche zeigten, daß bei unterschiedlichen Reaktionsbedingungen ein Schmiermittelprodukt mit hohen Viskositäten erhalten werden kann. - Es wurde ein handelsüblicher Chrom/Siliciumdioxid-Katalysator verwendet, der 1% Cr auf einem synthetischem Kieselgel mit hohem Porenvolumen enthielt. Der Katalysator wurde zuerst 16 Stunden lang mit Luft bei 800ºC kalziniert und 1,5 Stunden lang bei 300ºC mit CO reduziert. Danach wurden 3,5 g des Katalysators in einen Rohrreaktor gepackt und unter einer N&sub2;- Atmosphäre auf 100ºC erwärmt. 1-Hexen wurde mit 28 ml/h bei 101 kPa (1 Atmospähre) hindurchgepumpt. Die Produkte wurden aufgefangen und wie folgt analysiert: Probe Betriebszeit,h Schmiermittelausbeute, % Viskosität, mm²/s bei 40ºC
- Diese Versuche zeigten, daß auch unterschiedlich viel Cr auf dem Siliciumdioxidkatalysator für die Oligomerisierung von Olefinen zu Schmiermittelprodukten effektiv ist.
- Wie im Beispiel 9 wurde durch den Reaktor gereinigtes 1-Decen bei 1830 bis 2310 kPa (250 bis 320 psi) gepumpt. Das Produkt wurde periodisch aufgefangen und von den gering siedenden Produkten abgetrennt, die Siedepunkte unter 343ºC (650ºF) hatten. Es wurden Schmiermittel mit hoher Qualität und hohem VI erhalten (siehe folgende Tabelle). Reaktionstemperatur, ºC Eigenschaften des Schmiermittelproduktes
- Bei der Prüfung der Oligomerisierung von 1-Hexen bei unterschiedlichen Temperaturen wurde ein ähnlicher Katalysator angewendet. 1-Hexen wurde mit 28 cm³/h und mit 1 Atmosphäre zugeführt. Probe Temperatur, ºC Schmiermittelausbeute, Gew.-% Viskosität, mm²/s
- 1,5 g eines ähnlichen Katalysators, wie er im Beispiel 9 hergestellt wurde, wurden unter einer N&sub2;-Atmospähre einem Zweihals-Kolben zugesetzt. Danach wurden 25 g 1-Hexen zugesetzt. Diese Aufschlämmung wurde 2 Stunden lang unter der N&sub2;-Atmospähre auf 55ºC erwärmt. Danach wurde etwas Lösungsmittel Heptan zugesetzt, und der Katalysator wurde durch Filtration entfernt. Das Lösungsmittel und das unreagierte Ausgangsmaterial wurden abgetrennt, um eine viskose Flüssigkeit mit einer Ausbeute von 61% zu erhalten. Diese viskose Flüssigkeit wies Viskositäten von 1536 und 51821 mm²/s bei 100ºC bzw. 40ºC auf. Dieses Beispiel zeigt, daß die Reaktion diskontinuierlich durchgeführt werden kann.
- Die 1-Decen-Oligomere, die nachfolgend beschrieben sind, wurden durch Reaktion von gereinigtem 1-Decen mit einem aktivierten Katalysator von Chrom auf Siliciumdioxid synthetisiert. Dieser aktivierte Katalysator wurde hergestellt, indem Chromacetat (1 oder 3% Cr) auf Kieselgel 16 Stunden lang bei 500 bis 800ºC kalziniert wurde, danach wurde der Katalysator 1 Stunde lang bei 300 bis 350ºC mit CO behandelt. 1-Decen wurde mit dem aktivierten Katalysator gemischt und 16 bis 21 Stunden lang auf die Reaktionstemperatur erwärmt. Der Katalysator wurde anschließend entfernt, und das viskose Produkt wurde destilliert, um die geringsiedenden Komponenten bei 150ºC und 13 Pa zu entfernen.
- Die Reaktionsbedingungen und die Ergebnisse dieser Schmiermittelsynthese sind nachfolgend zusammengefaßt Tabelle 9 Beispiel Nummer Cr auf Siliziumdioxid Kalzinierungstemperatur Behandlungstemperatur Verhältnis 1-Decen/Katalysator Schmiermittelausbeute Verzweigungsverhältnisse und Schmiermitteleigenschaften der α- Olefin-Oligomere der Beispiele 13 bis 16 Tabelle 10 Beispiel Nummer Verzweigungsverhältnisse CH&sub3;/CH&sub2;
- Es wird ein handelsüblicher Katalysator aus Cr auf Siliciumdioxid verwendet, der 1% Cr auf einem synthetischem Kieselgel mit hohem Porenvolumen enthält. Dieser Katalysator wird zuerst 16 Stunden lang mit Luft bei 700ºC kalziniert und 1 bis 2 Stunden lang bei 350ºC mit CO reduziert. 1,0 Gew.- Teile des aktivierten Katalysators werden zu 200 Gew.-Teilen 1-Decen in einem geeigneten Reaktor zugegeben und auf 185ºC erwärmt. Dem Reaktor wird 1-Decen kontinuierlich mit 2 bis 3,5 Teile/min zugeführt und alle der 100 Teile der Beschickung des 1-Decen werden 0,5 Gew.-Teile Katalysator zugesetzt. Nachdem 1200 1-Decen und 6 Teile Katalysator zugesetzt sind, wird die Aufschlämmung 8 Stunden lang gerührt. Der Katalysator wird filtriert und das geringsiedende Produkt wird abgetrennt, das bei 13 Pa (0,1 mm Hg) unter 150ºC siedet. Das restliche Produkt wird bei 200ºC mit einem Katalysator aus Ni auf Kieselgur hydriert. Das Endprodukt hatte eine Viskosität bei 100ºC von 18,5 mm²/s , einen VI von 165 und einen Pourpoint von -55ºC.
- Ähnlich wie Beispiel 17, außer daß die Reaktionstemperatur 125ºC beträgt. Das Endprodukt hatte eine Viskosität bei 100ºC von 145 mm²/s, einen VI von 214, einen Pourpoint von -40ºC.
- Ähnlich wie Beispiel 17, außer daß die Reaktionstemperatur 100ºC betrug. Das Endprodukt hatte eine Viskosität bei 100ºC bei 298 mm²/s, einen VI von 246 und einen Pourpoint von -32ºC.
- Die abschließenden Schmiermittelprodukte der Beispiele 17 und 19 enthielten die folgenden Mengen an Dimer und Trimer und hatten die folgende Isomer-Verteilung (Verteilg.) Beispiel Pourpoint,ºC Dimer, Gew.-% Isomer-Verteilg. Dimer, Gew.-% n-Eicosan 9 -Methylnonacosan Trimer,Gew.-% 11-Octyldocosan 9-Methyl, 11-octylhenicosan Andere

- Unter ähnlichen Bedingungen kann ein HVI-PAO-Produkt hergestellt werden, das eine Viskosität von 3 mm²/s und 1000 mm²/s und einen VI zwischen 130 und 280 hat.
Claims (8)
1. Schmiermittelmischung mit verbessertem Viskosität, welche
umfaßt:
ein hydriertes Poly(α-olefin) mit einem Verzweigungsverhältnis
von weniger als 0,19 und einem Pourpoint von weniger als -15ºC
und ein flüssiges Schmiermittel, daß aus Mineralöl, hydrierten
Polyolefinen, Vinylpolymeren, Polyfluorkohlenstoffen,
Polychlorfluorkohlenstoffen, Polyestern, Polycarbonaten,
Polyurethanen, Polyacetalen, Polyamiden, Polythiolen, deren
Copolymeren, Terpolymeren und Mischungen davon ausgewählt ist.
2. Schmiermittelmischung nach Anspruch 1, worin das Poly(α-
olefin) ein Gewichtsmittel des Molekulargewichtes zwischen 300
und 150 000; ein Zahlenmittel des Molekulargewichtes zwischen
300 und 70 000; eine Molekulargewichtsverteilung zwischen 1
und 5 und einen Viskositätsindex von mehr als 130 aufweist.
3. Schmiermittelmischung nach Anspruch 1, worin das hydrierte
Poly(α-olefin) den hydrierten Polymer- oder Copolymerrest
von 1-Alkenen umfaßt, die aus der Gruppe entnommen sind, die
aus 1-Alkenen mit C&sub6; bis C&sub2;&sub0; besteht.
4. Schmiermittelmischung nach Anspruch 1, worin das Poly(α-
olefin) Polydecen umfaßt.
5. Schmiermittelmischung nach Anspruch 4, worin das Polydecen
einen VI von mehr als 130 und einen Pourpoint von weniger als
-15ºC hat.
6. Schmiermittelmischung nach Anspruch 1, worin das Mineralöl
Erdöl-Kohlenwasserstoffe umfaßt, die hydrierten Polyolefine
Polyisobutylen, Polypropylen und Poly(α-olefine) mit einem
Verzweigungsverhältnis von mehr als 0,19 umfassen, die
Vinylpolymere Polymethylmethacrylat und Polyvinylchlorid
umfassen, die Polyether Polyethylenglycol umfassen, die
Polyfluorkohlenstoffe Polyfluorethylen umfassen, die
Polychlorfluorkohlenstoffe Polychlorfluorethylen umfassen,
die Polyester Polyethylenterephthalat und Polyethylenadipat
umfassen, die Polycarbonate Polybisphenol A-carbonat
umfassen, die Polyurethane Polyethylensuccinoylcarbamat
umfassen, die Polyacetale Polyoxymethylen umfassen und die
Polyamide Polycaprolactam umfassen.
7. Schmiermittelmischung nach Anspruch 1, worin die Mischung
zwischen 1 und 99 Gew.-% Poly(α-olefin) mit einer
kinematischen Viskosität bei 100ºC von 3 bis 1000 mm²/s (cSt)
umfaßt.
8. Schmiermittelmischung nach Anspruch 7, worin das Poly(α-
olefin) eine kinematische Viskosität von 4 bis 20 mm²/s
aufweist und vorzugsweise etwa 20 Gew.-% dieser Mischung
umfaßt.
