Description
Es dient also z. Method of making shoe soles resistant to wear. The invention relates to a further development of the process protected in main patent 669948 for the preservation of shoe soles. against. Wear in which the cleaned and dried soles with a non-volatile solvent such as turpentine oil, pine oil o. The like "and then several times with a spread consisting of a Mixture of in. A more volatile solvent, such as benzene or xylene, dissolved bitumen, pine soot, calcium carbonate and sea sand or the like., is coated. The pretreatment with the less volatile solvent has the purpose of the best possible penetration of the mixture to be applied later into the interior to secure the leather. The components of the mixture are chosen so that the most diverse Orders of magnitude of the attachments are present at the same time, so that the more finely distributed Substances that are less finely distributed can take with them into the sole during their hike. So it serves z. B. the bitumen dissolved in benzene, xylene or the like. as a carrier for the pine soot, this in turn for the calcium carbonate or the like, and finally both for the sand.
In order to promote this effect even more, according to the invention, the spread mixture is a. Natural or synthetic resin added. This addition also causes the stickiness of the spread to disappear more quickly. The addition of the resin is carried out in such a way that, for. B. spruce resin is dissolved in a saturated bitumen-xylene solution, the ratio of 50 g resin to one liter of the solution proving to be useful.
