Description

Method for making shoe soles durable against wear. The invention relates to a further embodiment of the method for making shoe soles protected in the additional patent 672 827 , in which the cleaned and dried "sole" is pretreated with a poorly volatile solvent such as turpentine oil, pine oil or the like and then several times with a spread consisting of a mixture of bitumen, resin, pine soot, calcium carbonate and sea sand o To considerably increase the durability of the coating layer, according to the invention, after the first coating mixture has dried, it is repainted with a solution in a thin layer which contains bitumen and resin in a, once again different solvent, such as carbon disulfide io the durability of the coating layer around the Is increased multiple times. While in many cases the spread has to be renewed after a few weeks, depending on the level of use, the repetition is usually only necessary after months when applying the follow-up treatment. In addition, the combined treatment according to the invention causes softened or damaged areas of the soles to become firm again.
