Description

Verfahren zur Herstellung von Kunstmassen aus Casein unter Zugabe formaldehydabspaltender Stoffe Die Härtung von Kunstmassen aus Casein oder anderen Eiweißstoffen geschieht bis heute ausschließlich durch Nachbehandlung mit Formaldehydlösung. Dieses Verfahren, das außerordentlich zeitraubend ist, hat man bereits dadurch zu umgehen versucht, daß man dem Casein schon vor der Verarbeitung Substanzen zusetzte, die Formaldehyd abzugeben imstande sind. Eine solche Arbeitsweise hat sich bis jetzt aber nicht einzuführen vermocht, weil die Härtung entweder nur ungenügend oder aber zu schnell verläuft, wobei im letztgenannten Fall sich der besondere Nachteil geltend macht, daß die Mischung sich bei der üblichen Behandlung in einer geheizten Presse nicht mehr zu einer zusammenhängenden Masse von genügender Festigkeit verarbeiten läßt.Process for the production of artificial masses from casein with addition formaldehyde-releasing substances The hardening of synthetic masses made from casein or others To this day, protein substances are only done through post-treatment with formaldehyde solution. Als solche Körper wurden Methylolderivate von Urethanen besonders geeignet gefunden, die vorzüglich gehärtete und gut durchscheinende Produkte liefern und die lange, verteuernde Nachbehandlung mit Formaldehydlösung überflüssig machen.
