Description

Precipitation bath for the production of fibers, ribbons, films and the like from viscose In the main patent S19349 spinning baths are described in which certain, on the Precipitation of viscose, especially fully aged viscose, has a beneficial effect As a result, additives are in a state of complete or near saturation, that the precipitation baths have high levels of electrolytes (inorganic acids and salts) exhibit.

So brauch man z. It has now been shown that the effect of such additives is particularly favorable when the state of their high degree of saturation in the spinning bath is not brought about by inorganic electrolytes, but rather by a high, absolute concentration of the additives themselves. This high concentration then corresponds to the desired degree of saturation of the bath with the additive in question when the spinning bath, which is rich in additive, cannot tolerate significant amounts of electrolytes, in particular sulfuric acid, e.g. B. ro 1 to 5% sulfuric acid without the additive is colloidally eliminated immediately or after standing. In such a case of saturation, the viscose is smoothly precipitated into particularly strong threads even if the acidity of the spinning bath is relatively low per se. So you need z. B. when using the condensation product between naphthalene sulfonic acid and formaldehyde, known as an artificial tanning agent under the registered name Neradol ND, no mineral sulfuric acid at all, and when using carbazole sulfonic acid, a titrimetrically determined acidity of the precipitation bath of a few percent is sufficient for pure smooth precipitation of viscose, especially when using fully aged viscose.

Beispiele i. Additives which have the property of being absorbed by adsorption onto the viscose thread that is forming are of excellent effect. With these substances in particular, it becomes clear that the beneficial effect of these additives appears to be based on a protective layer formed by adsorption on the viscose. This gives z. B. when using carbazole sulfonic acid to recognize the precipitation bath by a strong coloration of the fiber. Due to their high tensile strength, these threads are particularly suitable for black dyeing and as woven silk. Examples i. A 5%, completely unripened viscose at 9 ° C. is injected into a spinning bath at 13 ° C. which contains 37.5% of the condensation product Neradol ND, which is known commercially as an artificial tanning agent. This artificial tanning agent contains about 54 a / o naphthalene sulfonic acid condensed with formaldehyde, and about 7% free sulfuric acid, which corresponds to a total acidity of about 19% calculated on sulfuric acid. With the above content of formaldehyde-condensed naphthalene sulphonic acid, the bath should contain, in addition to an acidity of 4.5% due to the organic sulphonic acid, so much sulfuric acid that the total acidity is 12% calculated on sulfuric acid. For this purpose it is necessary to add about 4.9% monohydrate sulfuric acid to the spinning bath in addition to the free mineral sulfuric acid present in the artificial tanning agent. The individual filter is 44 denier, the bath length 70 cm, the air gap r 10 cm. The result is fibers which, twisted into rayon after the usual aftertreatment, have a tensile strength of approximately 2.5 g per denier. exhibit elongation at about 7Alo.

It is a rayon exactly among those described in example i Conditions created, but by means of a Fällboden, which is 66 parts of water Contains 25% sodium carbazölsulfosaures and 9% sulfuric acid. This mixture shows in all probability due to the titrimetric influence of the in carbazole secondary nitrogen atom contained in the titration with phenolphthalein in the hot, highly diluted state an acidity of only 5.7% on sulfuric acid calculated. With this spinning bath threads are obtained with a tensile strength of 2.65 g per den. and io% elongation. These threads are colored extremely purple-brown.
