wurde gefunden, daB die in dem Patent 445 27o beschriebenen Chinonküpenfarbstoffe,
die - man durch Kondensation der Arylaminoderivate von o-Aminoarylmerkaptanen der
allgemeinen Formel:
oder ihrer Äquivalente mit Arylchinonen und ihren Derivaten, insbesondere ihren
Halogensubstitutionsprodukten, erhält und welche wahrscheinlich folgende Zusammensetzung
haben
(R1 = Aryl, R = H oder Alkyl oder Aralkyl, X = H oder einwertiger Substituent),
sulfhydraten, Alkalisulfiden oder Polysulfiden, in sehr- wertvolle blaue Schwefelfarbstoffe
übergehen. Dieselben zeichnen sich überraschenderweise durch hervorragende Wasch-
und Lichtechtheit aus und übertreffen darin die bisher bekannten blauen Schwefelfarbstoffe,
insbesondere diejenigen aus Indophenolen bzw. Leukoindophenolen, die aus Diphenylamin
und Nitrosophenolen hergestellt werden, obwohl sie diesen Farbstoffen wahrscheinlich

werden in eine Lösung von etwa 25o kg Sprit, 6o kg wasserfreiem Schwefelnatrium
und 3o kg Schwefel eingetragen, und das Ganze wird in
einem mit
Rückflußkühler und Rührwerk versehenen Gefäß etwa 2o bis 40 Stunden erhitzt. Der
Sprit wird abdestiRiert, -der Rückstand mit Salzlösung verdünnt, und- der abgeschiedene
Farbstoff filtriert, gewaschen und getrocknet. Er färbt Baumwolle im Schwefelnatriumbade

man z. B. an Stelle des oben angeführten Kondensationsproduktes die äquivalente
Menge desjenigen aus 5-M-toluylamino-z, i-aminothiophenol und Chloranil, so erhält
man einen Farbstoff, der Baumwolle in lebhaft grünstichigblauen Tönen von gleich
guten Echtheitseigenschaften im Schwefelnatriumbade oder in der Küpe anfärbt.The process can be carried out in the same way with other quinone vat dyes
