Description
Heart or crossing piece for railways At crossings of railroad tracks the running surfaces of the rails each have a gap for the wheel flanges. With consideration on it wing rails are provided to achieve good guidance, which guide the flanges on the inside. Unless you have the heart or cross pieces not made as a whole from cast steel, they are assembled from Vignole rails, or it will be the tips (wedges), which are the most heavily loaded parts represent, from one-sided reinforced rails, the wings from normal Vignole rails manufactured. The head may be on one side of the wing rails partially removed, depending on whether it is a road or a railroad crossing acts, and their distance to the rails traveled is determined by z. B. cast iron Lining pieces determined which matched the profile of the tip and the wing rail and fastened with through bolts. The number of these pieces of food is determined according to the length of the crossing piece, which itself depends on the crossing angle depends. Usually this number is eight to twelve for an intersection. Heart or intersection pieces assembled in this way have the disadvantage that the lining pieces must be sanded down according to the rail profile, which of course causes considerable costs. But what is worse is that through driving on the crossing piece against the rail head and the rail foot lying inclined surfaces of the chuck pieces are subject to heavy wear, whereby the food pieces loosen and! the firm bond of the whole crossing piece is lost unless the through bolts are retightened repeatedly.
The invention completely and easily avoids both disadvantages in that not only the tip of the crossing piece, but also the wings be made of rails with a profile reinforced on one side, with the reinforced Side a groove, z. B. is attached by rolling. In both legs of the intersection The rails of a top and a wing with the strengthened sides become each other attached facing; in the case of small railways, they are placed directly against one another, after either or both feet have been partially planed away; the constraining channel for the flanges is done by planing away part of the wing rail head obtained, which is made possible by the fact that the reinforced side is at this point of the rail web is located; those also facing each other Grooves on both rails are made with a continuous piece of lining or with special Filling plates filled in at the point of the connecting bolts. Keep with main railways the wing rails have their full profile (reinforced on one side); the constraining channel for the flanges is achieved by placing the tip between the rails and of the wing a continuous one over the entire length of the wing, into the grooves attaches a suitably planed spacer to both parts and this by means of bolts attached. Of course, you can also combine both methods.
VI-VI bis X-X in Abb. 2.The drawing illustrates two embodiments of a cardiac or Crossing piece, according to the invention. Figs. I and 2 are top views, Fig. 3 to 5 and 6 to 10 cross-sections according to the lines III-III to V-V in Fig. I and VI-VI to X-X in Fig. 2.
The centerpiece according to Fig. I and 3 to 5 consists of four reinforced on one side Rails i to 4, of which i and 2 in the wing rails 5 and 6 on both sides the tip assembled from rails 3 and 4. The reinforced Sides of rails i and 2 face one another, those of rails 3 and 4 turned away from each other. The rails i and 3 are reinforced with their Pages against each other, as can be easily seen from Figures 4 and 5. At The reinforcement of the rails is inherited at the four ends of the frog so that these ends have the normal profile. The rail 3 (top rail), which forms the continuous part of the tip, extends into the throat between the Rails i and 2 continue, which at this point, for example at line III-III, where the The tip descends, is bent and continues into wings 5 and 6. The- Way in which the rail foot, the rail web and the rail head, the latter to form the Zwangxinne for the wheel flanges, which are planed, goes without further details Explanation from the drawing. The one that forms the continuous part of the tip and therefore the most heavily loaded rail 3 reaches its full capacity as quickly as possible Profile. There is a suitably planed one in each of the grooves in the reinforced sides of the rails continuous piece of food or special pieces of food 9, io are attached; between the rails 3 and 4 of the tip is a piece of lining B. A fixed connection of the different parts is achieved by means of through bolts. The ones in the tread of the wedge lying seam between the rails 3 and 4 is welded.
The centerpiece according to Fig. 2 and 6 to io is for heavier material certainly. The reference numbers are relative to the corresponding numbers in the other figures increased by ten each. The rails i i and 12 are the narrowest Place of the Zwangrinne-_: kinked and sit with an unchanged profile in the Wings 15 and 16 continue. The compulsory channels for the wheel flanges are not here by planing off the wing rail head, but by planing them to fit into the grooves, continuous spacers i9 and 2o achieved. The top rail 13 is about this a certain length (section 6 to 8) also on the unreinforced side with a groove Mistake.
Heart or cross pieces of the type described above form a solid A whole that is not subject to wear and tear, except on the running surfaces therefore cannot loosen up. As a result, they correspond in terms of durability and security to the highest requirements.
