Description

Method for fulling textile fabrics. Additional patent 381,418-3814i8 by the patent is protected by textiles, a method for fulling, wherein one by the addition of natural or artificial tanning agents to the usual neutral, acidic or alkaline Walke reaches an accelerated entanglement of Gewebhaare. Furthermore, it has been described in patent 381418 that the so-called fat splitters, such as Twitchell-Pfeilring- or Konta.ktspalter, can serve as an additive to accelerate the felting during rolling. Also those aromatic or hydroaromatic sulfonic acids, which are essentially substituted by higher molecular weight alkyls or by cyclic hydrocarbons and have fat-splitting properties, but do not belong to the class of tannins, such as. B. propylated and butylated naphthalene sulfonic acids have been proposed for the same purpose.

It has now been found that an excellent matting accelerator Effect is due to those sulfonic acids which can be obtained by treating aromatic or hydroaromatic hydrocarbons or mixtures thereof and methyl or Receives ethyl alcohol with sulfonating agents. This effect was by no means foreseeable, especially since these low molecular weight compounds differ from those previously proposed Products also differ in that they are neither tanning nor fat-splitting Possess properties. From an economic point of view means the use of these products, for the sake of cheap presentation, is considerable Progress. Because of their ready solubility, these sulfonic acids are as well as their salts can be used without further ado in neutral, alkaline or acidic mills. The fulling process is carried out as described in the main patent.

PATENT CLAIM: Process according to patent 381418 for rolling textiles, characterized in that the low molecular weight sulfonic acids or their salts are used here, which are obtained by treating aromatic or hydroaromatic hydrocarbons or mixtures thereof and methyl or ethyl alcohol with sulfonating agents.
