Description
Process for the preparation of catechol. It became the most remarkable Observation made that by fusing lignins or lignin derivatives, z. B. those of the sulphite waste liquor (lignosulphonic acids), which in fier saccharification of the Wood and other vegetable raw materials remaining lignin-containing residues, Wood itself and other vegetable raw materials etc. with caustic alkalis thereby in good yield catechol that gets hydrogen through during the melt the reaction mass is passed.
The course of the process is surprising, since one is without hydrogen mainly leads to protocatechuic acid and oxalic acid.
The conversion can be accelerated by adding approved catalysts and are improved: Also for the implementation of simpler organic compounds, As with aromatic phenol carboxylic acids, the process can find an - @, - ending. So you can z. B. from protocatechuic acid itself obtained in this way catechol.
For the extraction of catechol from protocatechuic acid by alkali melt there is a new technical effect to the extent that it is for the usual spin-off of carbonic acid from protocatechuic acid much higher temperature (namely 300 ° and above) is required. In the alkali melt, on the other hand, the carbonic acid is already split off Hei 240 'in front of you to a considerable extent. The heat required for the technical implementation of the new process will be so less.
Beispiel r.Otherwise it is the formation of catechol it is that one starts from lignin or the like on the one hand, and from protocatechuic acid on the other hand - to a common new inventive idea insofar as in the case of lignin o. The like. Protocatechuic acid is formed as an intermediate as the starting material. example r.
Ausbeute 2; Prozent Rohprodukt und 21 Prozent Reinprodukt (berechnet auf die angewandte Menge Ausgangsstoff).i oo parts by weight r, ignin (from spruce wood using concentrated Hydrochloric acid deposited) with 300 parts by weight of water and about 500 parts by weight Potassium hydroxide mixed and then in the iron or iron pan under continual Stir heated to --.Io to 28o1. During the heating process, hydrogen gas is introduced into slowly flowing into the crucible down to the bottom. When the melt has cooled down, so it is dissolved in water; after the undissolved material has been filtered off, added the solution is mixed with methylic acid, with acetic acid or the like. As a result, they are not grounded completely implemented lignin-, s.-iuren, ials from precipitated. and extract that filtered the filtrate until now - exhaustion with ether. The after evaporation of the Ether remaining residue is now extralated again to exhaustion finite benzene, the benzene evaporates and the crude catechol is obtained as a residue. This can easily be cleaned by sublimation will. yield 2; Percent raw product and 21 percent pure product (calculated on the amount used Starting material).
