Abstract

The method forms a heat conductive joint between a pipe containing a heat transfer medium and a flat heater body, by clamping the latter to the pipe, to form a sidewall heater in a bus. The pipe (5) is first aligned for height by the inner supporting face (8) of a channel section extruded component (6). The body (4) is then lowered onto the pipe bearing against an end flange (9) on the extruded component. A profiled portion (11) with ramp face (10) on the body aligns the pipe in the vehicle lengthwise direction. Finally a wedge with a recess (15) towards the pipe and a locking lip (17) is pressed home between the pipe and a supporting surface (13) on the extruded component, on the opposite side to the profiled portion.
