Description

Process for the production of cellulose ester masses. It was found, that the cyclohexanol ester of phthalic acid or the esters of substituted phthalic acids perfectly suitable for processing with cellulose esters. These phthalic acid esters of cyclohexanol are excellent plasticizers for cellulose esters. Man. can cellulose esters together with phthalic acid esters des Cyclohexanol with or without the use of any other solvent on paints, Process films or other plastic masses that are particularly flexible and flexibility. The phthalic acid esters of cyclohexanol can also work particularly well with camphor or other camphor substitutes.

The use of phthalic acid esters of lower aliphatic alcohols for making films is already known, but these compounds have become proved to be of little use. If the films made with them are stored for a long time these become easily brittle and fragile, a disadvantage caused by the use of the Phthalic acid cyclohexanol ester is switched off.

Furthermore, in the patent specification 251351, the use of lower fatty acid esters is of cyclohexanol as a substitute for amyl acetate, i.e. as something that does not remain in the film Solvent described. The use of the phthalic acid ester of cyclohexanol so does not occur according to the present process in the same sense as easily evaporating Solvents, a use that is also known as very high-boiling volatile compounds would not be excluded, but as remaining in the film, Surprisingly, it gives the film a special suppleness and flexibility Additive.

Example: 1 oo g of nitrocellulose are dissolved with 30 g of cyclohexanolphthalic acid ester in the appropriate amount of acetone and processed into a plastic mass.
