Verfahren zur Erhöhung der Weichheit und .Elastizität nitrozellulosehaltiger Kunststoffe. Als Weichhaltungsimittel für nitrozelluloselialtige Kunststoffe (Filme, Kunstleder usw.) wurden bisher fast nur Ester venvvendet. tll)erraschien:der@veise hat sich nun gezeigt, :daß auch Azetale, sofern sie einen, gienügend hohen Siedepunkt und niederen Schmelzpunkt besitzen, für .den genannten Zweck hervorragend g2.eignet sind, obwohl sie den Sauerstoff nur in wenig aktiver, ätherartiger Bindung enthalten und demientspnechend -ihr Lösungsvermögen für Nitrozellulose nicht groß ist. Insbesondere kommen die Azetale des Azetalrl.ehyds mit Benzylalkohol und seinen Homologen in Betracht Die guten Eigenschaften dieser Produkte ,waren um so weniger zu. :erwarten, als die früher bereits als Lösungsmittel bzw. Kamp-f erersatzmittel vorgeschlagenen ei:nrfachen Äther des Benzylalkohols sich als praktisch unbrauchbar herausgestellt .haben.
