Process for processing cellulose esters using acyloxy fatty acid esters.

It is known that esters of oxyfatty acids can be added to cellulose esters, especially acetylolose and celluloid. In this way, solutions of the cellulose esters can be produced and the softness and suppleness of the finished structure can be increased.

It has now been found that the acyloxy fatty acid esters are still superior to the non-acylated compounds. The acyloxy fatty acid esters can be used either on their own or in admixture with other detergents and solvents.

Example: 2 parts of ethyl acetyloxyacetate are added to a solution of 10 parts of acetyl cell silose in 75 parts of acetone. The solution gives off very soft, pliable skin when it evaporates.
