Es ist schon vielfach versucht worden, Dampflokomotiven mit Kondensation zu betreiben. Eine der größten Schwierigkeiten bietet die Wegschaffung der dem Dampf beim Verlassen der Kraftmaschine - Kolbenmaschine oder Dampfturbine - verbleibenden Wärmemenge zwecks Erzielung eines hinreichend hohen Vakuums. Wo die Kondensation des Dampfes mittels Kühlwasser erfolgen soll, besteht die Schwierigkeit, das vom Dampf erwärmte Wasser auf die Anfangstemperatur zurückzuführen-und so für weitere Kondensation zu befähigen. Man hat schon vorgeschlagen, entweder vor oder zu beiden Seiten der Lekomotive Rückkühleinrichtungen anzuordnen, um den durch die Fahrgeschwindigkeit- entstehenden Luftzug unmittelbar auszunutzen. Soll aber die Rückkühlung hinreichend wirksam sein, so muß die hierfür erforderliche Einrichtung große Abmessungen erhalten. Baut man sie vor die Lokomotive, so verliert der Führer die Übersicht über das Geleise; neben der Lokomotive ist wegen des vorgeschriebenen Profils nur ein geringer Querschnitt zulässig, und die Einrichtung würde sich deshalb auf eine allzu große Baulänge erstrecken und den größten Teil der Lokornotivlängsseite verbauen. Diese Übelstände werden durch vorliegende Erfindung behoben. Ein Oberflächenkondensator, aus welchem das Kondensat wiederum zur Kesselspeisung verwendet werden kann, ist vorn an der Lokomotive, also in unmittelbarer Nähe der Dampfkraftmaschine angebracht, so daß der Abdampf von letzterer einen kurzen Weg zurückzulegen hat und keines großen Spannungsabfalles zu seiner Förderung bedarf. Das im Oberflächenkondensator erwärmte Kühlwasser wird sodann in eine hinter der Lokomotive angeordnete Rückkühleinrichtung geleitet, wo genügend Raum vorhanden ist, um ihr die erforderlichen großen Abmessungen zu geben und wo die erforderliche Kühlluft in hinreichender Menge zu- und abgeführt werden kann. Besonders günstig gestaltet sich die ganze Anordnung, wenn die Rückkühleinrichtung auf einem besonderen, an die Lokomotive angehängten Tender untergebracht ist. Daraus saugt mittels des Rohres 8 eine von einer Hilfsturbine 9 angetriebene Pumpe io Wasser an und drückt es durch das Rohr i i dem Oberflächenkondensator 2, zu. Das erwärmte Wasser fließt durch das Rohr 12 zurück und wird von der ebenfalls von der Hilfsturbine 9 angetriebenen Pumpe 13 mittels des Rohres 14 in einen oberen -Behälter 15 gefördert, von welchem es in feiner Verteilung frei nach unten fallen kann. Hierbei wird es von dem durch die Fahrgeschwindigkeit sich bilden--den Luftzug bestrichen und abgekühlt. Die Luft tritt bei 16 in einen zu diesem Zweck gebildeten Kanal ein und bei 17 wieder aus. Das Wasser sammelt sich im untersten Teil dieses Kanals und strömt alsdann in den Behälter 7, aus welchem es unter Einwirkung der Pumpe io den Kreislauf von neuem beginnt. Auf dem Tender ist überdies ein großer Vorratsbehälter 18 angeordnet, aus welchem unter Einwirkung des Schwimmerventils ig, 2o Wasser in den kleinen Behälter 7 überströmt, sobald der darin befindliche Wasserspiegel unter ein gewisses Maß sinkt.The drawing shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
