Rieselkondensator.
Trickle condenser. The present invention relates to an improvement
on trickle condensers with externally sprinkled, steam flowing through, in horizontal
Rows of lying cooling tubes and is particularly used for condensers on locomotives
certainly. It consists in the fact that the rows of tubes in a vertical direction against each other
are offset that the cooling water dripping from the tubes of a horizontal row of tubes
does not hit the two rows of tubes below, but first
can drip onto the third row of tubes or onto an even lower row of tubes.
The invention is in the following description and through the drawing
explained in more detail.

a zugeführt wird. The cooling water trickles out of the supply pipes a through nozzles b in an even distribution over the cooling pipes of the top row c. However, as can be seen from the figures, the water that drips off again from row c does not drip onto the next row of pipes d or onto the next but one row of pipes s, but only onto the next row of pipes f. As a result, the surface, ie the cooling and evaporation surface, of the water dripping from one pipe to the other becomes considerably larger, and the air that enters through openings g and exits through opening h has significantly more opportunity to extract heat from the water than with the previous arrangements in which the water drips onto the next row or the next but one. The arrangement can also be made so that the water only drips onto one of the rows of tubes below. The water, cooled back to its initial temperature, collects at the bottom in the container, from which it is fed back to the pipes a by a pump (not shown).
From Fig.3 and q. it can be seen that in the application of per se
known elliptical or oval tubes the space utilization is even better than
as with round pipes, and that furthermore the desired path for the cooling water
is achieved more safely than as with the round tubes, while at the same time the free
Rotary passage cross-section for the air becomes larger. The arrangement described is obvious
repeated for the pipes below. The new pipe arrangement is not
limited to condensers for steam; it can with dry coolers of any kind, for example
also used in dry coolers for the cooling water of diesel engines and others
will.
