Bei dem Wasserleitungshahn ist das Ventil a lose mit dem Kolben b verbunden und wird beim Oeffnen oder Schliefsen durch die in der Nabe des letzteren befindlichen Stifte e e mitgenommen. Das Ventil α führt sich mit seinem Stiftende, welches mit einer halsförmigen Eindrehung h versehen ist, in der cylindrischen Bohrung des Kolbens b und an den in der Kolbennabe befestigten Stiften e e. Der Hals h des Ventilstiftendes ist so lang gemacht, dafs in der tiefsten Kolbenstellung, wenn also das Ventil geschlossen ist, ober- und unterhalb der Stifte e e noch genügend Spielraum vorhanden ist, so dafs das Ventil α keinen anderen als den Wasserdruck erleidet. Bei anderen Wasserleitungshähnen wird das Ventil durch die Schraube von Hand festgeprefst, die Dichtung wird dadurch schnell beschädigt. Dieser Uebelstand fällt bei diesem Hahn fort, da das Ventil nur durch den Wasserdruck geschlossen wird.In the case of the water supply tap, the valve a is loosely connected to the piston b and is carried along by the pins ee in the hub of the latter when it is opened or closed.
