Description
Als Fungizide zum Schutz vor in Landwirtschaft und Gartenbau
auftretenden Pflanzenkrankheiten werden Organoquecksilberverbindungen, Organochlorverbindungen, Organophosphorverbindungen
und gasförmige Verbindungen eingesetzt. Die Organoquecksilberverbindungen haben den Nachteil, dass sie gegenüber
Mensch und Tier sehr stark toxisch sind. Organochlorverbindungen weisen eine beträchtliche Phytotoxizität
gegenüber den Pflanzen auf. Da sie zur Erzielung einer zufriedenstellenden prophylaktischen Wirkung in grossen Mengen
und starken Konzentrationen eingesetzt werden müssen, besteht die Gefahr, dass Rückstände in den Pflanzen oder im
Boden verbleiben. Gasförmige Fungizide weisen den Nachteil eines reizenden oder unangenehmen Geruchs auf.
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, Fungizide für Landwirtschaft und Gartenbau zur Verfügung zu stellen, die die vorgenannten
Nachteile nicht aufweisen und bereits in geringen Konzentrationen in Landwirtschaft und Gartenbau einen hochwirksamen

Schutz gegen Pflanzenkrankheiten bieten, insbesondere gegen Kohlhernie bei Kreuzblütern und Reisbrand (rice blast
disease).
Der Gegenstand der Erfindung ist in den Patentansprüchen definiert.
Den beanspruchten Verbindungen am nächsten kommen N-(1-Methylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-benzamid,N-(1-Methylthio-
2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-chlorbenzamid und N-(1-Methylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-methylbenzamid
(vgl. Ann. Appl. Biol., Bd. 75 (1973), S. 49 bis 55. Keine dieser Verbindungen weist
eine fungizide Wirkung auf. Demgegenüber stellen die Verbindungen der Erfindung wertvolle Wirkstoffe mit fungizider
Wirkung dar.
Die Verbindungen der Erfindung sind gegenüber Mensch und Tier nur sehr wenig toxisch, bewirken keine Pflanzenschädigungen,
rufen keine reizenden oder unangenehmen Gerüche hervor und bewirken in geringen Konzentrationen einen Schutz
gegen Pflanzenkrankheiten. Somit eignen sich die Verbindungen der Erfindung in idealer Weise als in geringen Mengen einzusetzende
Fungizide in Landwirtschaft und Gartenbau, wobei eine Bodenkontamination nicht zu befürchten ist.
Beispiele für Alkoxycarbonylreste mit 1 bis 3 Kohlenstoffatomen sind die Methoxycarbonyl-, Äthoxycarbonyl- und Propoxycarbonylgruppe.
Beispiele für Alkylreste mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen
sind die Methyl-, Äthyl-, Propyl-, Butyl-, Octyl-, Nonyl-,
Decyl- und Dodecylgruppe.
Beispiele für Alkoxycarbonylmethylreste mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen
im Alkoxyrest sind die Methoxycarbonylmethyl-, A'thoxycarbonylmethyl-, Propoxycarbonylmethyl-, Butoxycarbonylmethyl-,
Octyloxycarbonylmethyl-, Decyloxycarbonylmethyl-

Beispiele für Halogenatome sind Chlor- und Bromatome.
Bevorzugt werden Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I, in der R- ein Wasserstoffatom oder eine Acetylgruppe und R2
einen Alkylrest mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet und η den Wert 0 hat.
Nachstehend ist die Herstellung der Verbindungen der Erfindung erläutert.

Die nachstehenden Beispiele erläutern die Herstellung der Verbindungen der Erfindung.
N-(1-Äthylthio-2>2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-aGetoxybenzamid
(Verbindung Nr. 1)
50 ml Dichlormethan werden zu 7,9 g N-(1,2,2,2-Tetrachloräthyl)-2-acetoxybenzamid
gegeben. Die erhaltene Lösung wird unter Rühren mit 1,3 g Äthylmercaptan und sodann tropfenweise
bei 10 bis 15°C mit 2,0 g Triäthylamin versetzt. Nach 1-stündiger Umsetzung bei Raumtemperatur wird das Reaktionsgemisch mit Wasser versetzt und stehengelassen. Anschliessend
wird die Dichlormethanphase abgetrennt, mit wasserfreiem Natriumsulfat getrocknet und eingedampft. Man erhält 7,0 g
der Titelverbindung in Form von weissen Kristallen vom F. 100 bis 1020C.
N-(1-n-Octyloxycarbonylmethylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid (Verbindung Nr. 14)
5 g Thionylchlorid werden tropfenweise unter Rühren zu einem Gemisch aus 10 g N-(1-Hydroxy-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid,
50 ml Tetrachlorkohlenstoff und 0,1 g N,N-Dimethylformamid
gegeben. Nach 1-stündiger Umsetzung unter
Rückfluss wird das Lösungsmittel unter vermindertem Druck abdestilliert. Man erhält N-(1,2,2,2-Tetrachloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid
vom F. 113 bis 113,5°C. Ohne diese Verbindung zu isolieren wird das Reaktionsgemisch mit 50 ml Aceton
und 7,2 g Thioglykolsäure-n-octylester versetzt. Das

Gemisch wird 1 Stunde bei Raumtemperatur gerührt. Der nach dem Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels erhaltene Rückstand wird
säulenchromatographisch an Kieselgel gereinigt. Man erhält 3,0 g der Titelverbindung in Form eines hellgelben Öls.

3,2 g N-(1-Isopropylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-acetoxybenzamid, 30 ml Äthanol und 0,5 ml 35-prozentige Salzsäure
werden vermischt. Die Reaktion wird 2 Stunden unter Rühren und unter Rückfluss durchgeführt. Anschliessend wird das
Lösungsmittel abdestilliert. Der Rückstand wird mit Wasser gewaschen und getrocknet. Man erhält 2,7 g der Titelverbindung
in Form von weissen Kristallen vom F. 131 bis 133°C.
Beispiel 4 N-(1-Phenylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid
(Verbindung Nr. 25)

10,3 g einer 20-prozentigen wässrigen Natriumhydroxidlösung werden tropfenweise unter Rühren bei 10 bis 150C zu einem
Gemisch aus 16,6 g N-(1,2,2,2-Tetrachloräthyl)-2-acetoxybeniaamid,
70 ml Aceton und 5,3 g Phenylmercaptan gegeben.
_- Die Umsetzung wird 1 Stunde bei Raumtemperatur durchgeführt.
Nach Zusatz von Wasser wird die Dichlormethanphase abgetrennt. Die Lösung wird getrocknet und eingedampft. Der Rückstand
wird mit 100 ml Äthanol und 1,5 ml 35-prozentiger Salzsäure versetzt. Sodann wird 2 Stunden unter Rückfluss
umgesetzt. Nach dem Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels erhält
man 14,5 g der Titelverbindung in Form von weissen Kristallen vom F. 103 bis 1060C.
N-(1-Isopropylsulfiny1-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-acetoxybenzamid
(Verbindung Nr. 32)
15,0 g N-(1-Isopropylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-acetoxybenzamid
werden tropfenweise unter Rühren mit 80 ml Essigsäure und 3,8 g 35-prozentiger Wasserstoffperoxidlösung
versetzt. Die Umsetzung wird 3 Stunden bei MO bis 500C
durchgeführt. Anschliessend wird das Reaktionsgemisch in Wasser gegossen. Sodann werden 100 ml Essigsäureäthylester

! zugegeben. Die Lösung wird abgetrennt, getrocknet und eingedampft.
Der Rückstand wird gewaschen und getrocknet. Man erhält 12,3 g der Titelverbindung vom F. 90 bis 92°C.
N-(i-n-Butylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-äthoxyearbonyloxybenzamid (Verbindung Nr. 3*0
13 g Chlorameisensäureäthylester werden unter Rühren zu einem Gemisch aus 3,4 g N-(1-n-Butylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid
und 50 ml Aceton gegeben. Anschliessend wird bei 0 bis 50C 1,0 g Triäthylamin zugetropft. Nach 1-stündiger
Umsetzung bei Raumtemperatur wird das Lösungsmittel unter vermindertem Druck abgedampft. Der Rückstand wird mit 50 ml
Wasser versetzt. Die Lösung wird mit Essigsäureäthylester extrahiert. Nach Waschen des Extrakts mit Wasser und Trocknen
wird das Lösungsmittel abgedampft. Man erhält 3,2 g der Titelverbindung als braunes öl.

14,2 g N-(1-Hydroxy-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid
werden mit 100 ml Dichlormethan, 7,2 g Thionylchlorid und 0,1 g Ν,Ν-Dimethylformamid vermischt. Die Umsetzung wird
unter Rühren und unter Rückfluss 3 Stunden durchgeführt. Nach dem Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels erhält man N-(1,2,2,2-Tetrachloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid
vom F. 113 bis 113,5°C.
Ohne dieses Produkt zu isolieren werden 100 ml Dichlormethan 30
und 3,8 g Isopropylmercaptan zugesetzt. Anschliessend werden 4,0 g Pyridin zugetropft. Nach 1-stündiger Umsetzung bei

Vergleichsbeispiel 1
1719 g o-Acetylsalicylaraid werden in 70 ml Methylchloroform
suspendiert. Sodann werden 17,6 g Chloral zugegeben. Die Umsetzung wird unter Rühren 3 bis 4 Stunden bei 70 bis 75°C
durchgeführt. Man erhält 28,2 g N-(1-Hydroxy-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-acetoxybenzamid
in Form von weissen Kristallen vom F. 124 bis 1260C.
Diese Verbindung wird mit 100 ml Methylchloroform und 0,3 ml N,N-Dimethylformamid vermischt und tropfenweise unter Rühren
mit 13,4 g Thionylchlorid versetzt. Das Gemisch wird 3 Stunden auf 60 bis 7O0C erwärmt. Nach dem Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels
unter vermindertem Druck erhält man 30,0 g
der Titelverbindung in Form von hellgelben Kristallen vom
F. 88 bis 900C.
Herstellung von N-(I,2,2,2-Tetrachloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid

14,2 g N-(1-Hydroxy-2,2,2-Trichloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid werden mit 100 ml Dichlormethan, 0,1 g N,N-Dimethylformamid
und 7,2 g Thionylchlorid versetzt. Die Umsetzung wird unter Rühren und unter Rückfluss 3 Stunden durchgeführt. Überschüssiges
Thionylchlorid wird zusammen mit dem Lösungsmittel unter vermindertem Druck abgedampft. Man erhält 15,1 g
der Titelverbindung vom F. 113 bis 113,5°C.
Die Verbindungen der Erfindung werden gelegentlich direkt als Fungizide in Landwirtschaft und Gartenbau eingesetzt.
Im allgemeinen werden sie aber in Form von verschiedenen Präparaten zusammen mit Trägerstoffen oder anderen Hilfsstoffen
verwendet. Beispiele für derartige Präparate sind Emulsionen, benetzbare Pulver, Stäubemittel, Granulate und
Mikrogranulate, je nach dem vorgesehenen Verwendungszweck.
Der Anteil der Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I in diesen Präparaten entspricht dem Wirkstoffanteil von her-

kömmlichen Präparaten, d.h. O bis 95 Prozent und vorzugsweise
2 bis 70 Prozent. Der Anteil an Hilfsstoffen beträgt
dementsprechend 99,5 bis 5 Prozent und vorzugsweise 98 bis
30 Prozent.

Es können feste oder flüssige Trägerstoffe verwendet werden. Beispiele für feste Trägerstoffe sind Ton, Kaolin, Talcum,
Diatomeenerde, Siliciumdioxid und Calciumcarbonat. Beispiele für flüssige Trägerstoffe sind Alkohole, Aceton, Xylol,
Toluol, Methylnaphthalin, Cyclohexan, Dimethylformamid, Dimethylsulfoxid,
tierische oder pflanzliche Öle, Fettsäuren, Fettsäureester und viele Arten von grenzflächenaktiven Mitteln.
Neben Trägerstoffen können auch andere Hilfsstoffe, die üb-
licherweise in landwirtschaftlichen Chemikalien eingesetzt werden, verwendet werden. Beispiele dafür sind Streuhilfsmittel,
Emulgatoren, Netzmittel, Dispergiermittel und Fixiermittel. Diese Hilfsstoffe werden in entsprechender Weise
vermischt, um die gewünschte Wirkung zu gewährleisten. 20
Die Verbindungen der Erfindung können im Gemisch mit anderen
Herbiziden, Insektiziden, Akariziden, Fungiziden für Acker- und Gartenbau, Bodenfungiziden, Bodenstabilisatoren
oder Düngemitteln verwendet werden.
Die Herstellung von entsprechenden Präparaten wird nachstehend erläutert. Teilangaben beziehen sich auf das Gewicht.

10 Teile der Verbindung Nr. 1, d.h. N-( 1-Äthylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-acetoxybenzamid,
41 Teile Talcum und 49 Teile Ton werden vermischt und zu einem Stäubemittel pulverisiert.

8θ Teile der Verbindung Nr. 18, d.h. N-(1-Isopropylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid,
15 Teile Kaolin, 3 Teile Natrium-höherer-alkohol-sulfat und 2 Teile Natriumpolyacrylat
werdenvermischt und zu einem benetzbaren Pulver pulverisiert.
Präparat 3
Granulat
3 Teile der Verbindung Nr. 25, d.h. N-(i-Phenylthio-2,2,2-triehloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid,
35 Teile Diatomeenerde, 23 Teile Bentonit, 37 Teile Talcum und 2 Teile eines Sprengmittels
werden vermischt. Das Gemisch wird zur homogenen Befeuchtung mit 18 Teilen Wasser versetzt. Anschliessend
wird das Gemisch mittels einer Spritzgussvorrichtung zur Herstellung eines Granulats extrudiert. Das Granulat wird
getrocknet, in einem Brecher behandelt und mittels einer Granuliervorrichtung zu einem Granulat der Teilchengrösse
0,6 bis 1 mm verarbeitet.
Präparat 4
Mikrogranulat
5 Teile der Verbindung Nr. 15, d.h. N-(1-Methylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid
werden homogen mit 6 Teilen Bentonit und 9 Teilen Ton zu einem konzentrierten Pulvergemisch
vermischt.
Getrennt davon werden 80 Teile eines nicht-absorbierenden
groben Mineralpulvers von 105 bis I^ μ in eine entsprechende
Mischvorrichtung gegeben. Sodann werden 20 Teile Wasser unter Drehbewegung zugesetzt, um das Pulver zu befeuchten.
Anschliessend wird zur Ausbildung eines Überzugs auf die-
sem Pulver das vorerwähnte konzentrierte Pulvergemmiseh zugesetzt.
Das Produkt wird zu einem Mikrogranulat getrocknet.

Präparat 5
Emulsion
20 Teile der Verbindung Nr. 17, d.h. N-(1-n-Propylthio-2,2,2-trichloräthyl)-2-hydroxybenzamid,
werden in 63 Teilen Xylol, in das 17 Teile eines Gemisches aus einem Alkylphenol-Äthylenoxid-Kondensat
und Calciumalkylbenzolsulfonat (8 : 2) eingemischt worden sind, gelöst. Das Produkt
wird nach Verdünnung mit Wasser in Form einer Emulsion verwendet.

Die nachstehenden Versuchsbeispiele erläutern die Wirkung der Verbindungen der Erfindung.
Ein Topf von 15 cm Durchmesser wird mit Erde gefüllt, die mit Plasmodiophora brassicae infiziert und mit 10 Prozent
des Stäubemittels von Präparat 1 in einer Menge von 2 g pro Topf vermischt ist. Anschliessend werden 15 Samen von
Chinakohl (Taibyo 60-nichi) in jedem Topf ausgesät. Die Töpfe werden auf das Feld gebracht.
Als Kontrolle wird 20-prozentiges PCNB (Wirkstoff: Pentachlornitrobenzol)
verwendet und gemäss dem vorstehend erläuterten Verfahren getestet.
4 Wochen nach dem Aussäen werden die Chinakohlpflanzen entnommen und auf das Ausmass ihres Pilzbefalls beobachtet.
Der prozentuale Anteil an gesunden Sämlingen wird folgendermassen berechnet:

Prophylaxe gegen Reisbrand (rice blast)
Etwa 50 Reiskörner (Saitama mochi Nr. 10) werden jeweils in
einem Topf der Abmessungen 15 x 5 x 10 cm ausgesät. Nach 20 Tagen wird auf die Sämlinge (2- oder 3-blättriger Zustand)
eine bestimmte Menge an 10-prozentigem Granulat, das gemäss Beispiel 3 hergestellt worden ist, aufgebracht. Anschliessend
werden die Sämlinge durch Bespritzen mit einer Lösung, in der Sporen von Pyrcuralia oryzae suspendiert sind, bespritzt.
Sodann werden die Sämlinge in ein Gewächshaus verbracht.
Zur Kontrolle wird ein Granulat mit einem Gehalt an 17 Prozent
IBP (Wirkstoff: 0,0-Diisopropyl-S-benzylphosphorthioat)
verwendet und gemäss dem vorstehenden Verfahren getestet.

Versuchsbeispiel 3
Ein Topf von 12 cm Durchmesser wird mit Erde gefüllt, wobei pro Topf 5 g pathogene Erde, in der Rhizoctonia solani gezüchtet
worden ist, zugesetzt wird. Anschliessend werden 10 Gurkensamen (Ohyashima) pro Topf ausgesät. Anschliessend
wird ein 80-prozentiges benetzbares Pulver, das gemäss Präparat 2 hergestellt worden ist, auf die Pflanzen aufgebracht,
indem man das Präparat mit Wasser verdünnt und die Pflanzen pro Topf mit 50 ml des flüssigen Produkts übergiesst.
Zur Kontrolle wird ein benetzbares Pulver mit einem Gehalt an 50 Prozent PCNB (Wirkstoff: Pentachlornitrobenzol) verwendet.
Der Test wird auf die vorstehend beschriebene Weise durchgeführt.
10 Tage nach dem Aussäen wird das Ausmass des Pilzbefalls festgestellt. Der prozentuale Anteil an gesunden Sämlingen
wird folgendermassen berechnet:

7. Fungizide Mittel für Landwirtschaft und Gartenbau, enthaltend 0,5 bis 95 Gewichtsprozent einer Verbindung nach
Anspruch 1 und 99,5 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent Hilfsstoffe.
8. Verfahren zum Verhindern von durch Pilze hervorgerufenen Pflanzenkrankheiten, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass.man eine fungizid wirkende Menge einer Verbindung nach Anspruch 1 anwendet.
9· Verwendung der Verbindungen nach Anspruch. 1 als Fungizide.
