In den meisten Fällen wird ein besonderes Reinigungsmedium nicht einmal mehr erforderlich sein, denn schon die Anwendung von Dampf genügt in vielen Fällen bereits zum Lösen der Schmutzteilchen. Dabei kann das Absaugen gleichzeitig mit dem Sprühvorgang stattfinden. Das Absaugen hat weiterhin den Vorteil, dass die im flüssigen Zustand abgesaugten Reinigungsmedien oder beispielsweise durch Kondensation von Wasserdampf entstandenes Wasser effektiver erfolgen kann, als die Trocknung mittels Pressluft.
