Diese neuen Verbindungen zeichnen sich-durch besondere Riechstoffeigenschaften aus und können demzufolge für Parfümerie- zwecke Verwendung finden.
Der Geruch des 3-^ormoxy-3,7-dimethyl-6,7-epoxy-l-octens (R der Formel I=H; Siedepunkt 66°/O,3 mm; n^ : 1,4486) ist weich, holzig-krautig, mit einer grünen Teenote.
Der Geruch des 3-Jsobutyryloxy-3,7-dimethyl-6l!7-epoxy-l-octens (R der Formel I = Jsopropyl; Siedepunkt 86°/0,8 mm; n£ : 1,4406) ist weichn süss und blumig.

Diese neuen Verbindungen können z.B. nach dem Verfahren der deutschen Patentanmeldung P 15 43 033.8 durch Epoxydierung entsprechender Linalylester der allgemeinen Formel II
