Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft sterilisationsbeständige
Schichtstoffe auf der Basis von Polypropylenfilmen, die für
die Herstellung von Behältern, Umschlägen, kleinen Beuteln, Gefäßen und ganz allgemein für Gegenstände, die für die Verpackungsindustrie
bestimmt sind, verwendet werden können.
Bekanntlich itissen Verpackungsmaterialien gute mechanische
und ästhetische Eigenschaften besitzen; sie müssen weiterhin undurchlässig und durch Wärmeeinwirkung verschweißbar sein.
-Alle diese Eigenschaften gleichzeitig besitzen solche Filme
im allgemeinen nicht, die nur aus einer einzigen Polymertype
besteh/en. Daher werden Schichtstoffe verwendet, die durch Vereinigung mehrerer Filme unterschiedlicher Zusammensetzung
erhalten werden.
Gegenstand ;der vorliegenden Erfindung sind nun Schichtstoffe mit besseren Eigenschaften bezüglich Undurchlässigkeit von
Gasen, Aromastoffen, Fetten und Feuchtigkeit, die darüberhinaus
sehr gute mechanische Eigenschaften und außerdem ausgezeichnete ästhetische Eigenschaften, wie Transparenz
und Brillanz besitzen sowie leicht durch Wärmeeinwirkung
sterilisiert v/erden können«

Bei der Herstellung von Schichtstoffen, die für die Verpackung von Lebensmitteln und insbesondere für die Sterilisierung der Verpackung durch Wärmeeinwirkung bestimmt sind,
wird oft eine Lösung der den Verpackungsfilm bildenden
Schichten voneinander beobachtet« Besonders augenscheinlich
ist dies im Falle von Schichtstoffen aus:
a) einem Film aus Polypropylen, der im wesentlichen aus ,
Makromolekülen besteht, die eine isotaktische Struktur
besitzen und mit. Hilfe von stereospezifischen Katalysatoren hergestellt ist;
b) einer Klebstoffschichtj
c) einem Film oder einer Folie aus Aluminium.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß es möglich ist, Schichtstoffe auf
der Basis von Polypropylenfilmen zu erhalten, die sich während der Sterilisierung durch Wärmeeinwirkung nicht in 'Schichten
auflösen. Die Schichtstoffe gemäß der Erfindung bestehen aus:
a) einem gegebenenfalls verstreckten, und zwar einfach oder
zweifach verstreckten Polypropylenfilm, der im wesentlichen aus Makromolekülen mit isotaktischer Struktur besteht und
mittels stereospezifischer Katalysatoren hergestellt wurde,
b) einer Klebstoffschicht,
c) einer Schicht aus einer Verbindung, die durch Teilreaktion eines gegebenenfalls polymeren Amins mit einem gegebenenfalls polymeren Oxiranderivat erhalten wurde,
d) einem Film oder einer Folie^aus Aluminium, einem Polyester
oder Polyamid.
Die unter c) erwähnte "Teilreaktion'1 ist so zu verstehen,
daß die Oxiranverbindung in einem niedrigeren als dem stöchiometrischen
Verhältnis verwendet wird; die Molverhältnisse der Reaktionskomponenten (Amin : Oxiranverbindung) liegen zwischen

Der Klebstoff (b) kann entweder allein; oder irr Misehung mit
anderen Klebstoffen aus; Eösungen oder Dispersionen desselben
Klebstoffes in Wasser oder Im einem organ!sehen: Lösungsmittel
oder in. Eisehungen davon, in, an sich bekannter Weise, insbesondere
durch Aufstreichen oder Eintauchen , aufgebracht
werden.. Als; LSsungsmitteit, können Kohlenwassersfeaffe,r wie

auf dem· Film eine Klebstoffmenge: zwischen: S ueö: IQ g/m
Film zu erhalten, werden EösAangen mit. einer Konzentration
zwischen 5 und 40 G"ew.-$r des KXebers verwendete.. Insbesondere:
eignen sieh synthetische Klebstoffe aus thermoplastischen
Harzen,(wie beispielsweise Zelluloseestern und -äthern,
Polyacryl- und -alkylacry!estern, Polyamiden, Polystyrol,
synthetische Kautschukarten oder Polyvinylalkohol u. dgl.)
und aus thermohärtenden Harzen, (wie beispielsweise Polyestern, Epoxydharzen, Harnstoff-Formaldehydharzen, Phenol—
formaldehaydharzen oder Melaminformaldehydharzen). Mit
besonderem Vorteil können die handelsüblichen Klebstoffe:
"K 29/9 extra" (Wikolin), "Ültraflex 11" (Isaar Ghemie),
"Cortexin R-66" (Isaar-Chemie), "Golla Ep Special"
(K. Herberts), "Versamld 125" (General Mills), "Epikote
und 820" (Shell), "Bostik 701n,"Bostonia 5075 BY und
10 9828/179 5
5076 PYn (B.B. Chemical Co.) verwendet werden.
Die Schicht (c) besieht vorzugsweise aus den TeilreaktiansprDankten
von Diglyeidylderlvaten mit AlkyleniTOinpolymeren,
wie z.B. Polyäthylenimin oder Polypropylenimin oder mit
einfachen AmlnverbinaTarige^ wie z,B. Äthylendiamin, Diathyleaitriamin
oder Tetraathylenpentamin.
Die Qxiranverbindung kann ein polymeres Reaktionsprodukt
von Epiehlorhydrin mit Bisphenolen (handelsübliche Produkte Epikate) sein oder ein Glycidylderivat, wie beispielsweise
Diäthylendiglycidyläther oder Ν,Ν'-Diglyeidylpiperazin.
Die Herstellung der Verbindung der Schicht (c) erfolgt durch Mischen verdünnter wässeriger Lösungen der Aminverbindung
mit verdünnten wässerigen Lösungen oder Dispersionen der Oxiranverbindung bei Zimmertemperatur. Die so erhaltenen
wässerigen Lösungen haben eine ausreichende Stabilität. Der überzug aus dieser Verbindung kann in an sich bekannter
Weise aufgebracht werden, z.B. aus Lösungen oder Dispersionen in Wasser oder in organischen Lösungsmitteln, durch
Aufbringen oder Eintauehen des Films; die Menge dieser Verbindung auf dem Trägerfilm beträgt zwischen 0,01 und
0,1 g/m des Tragerfilms.
Es ist auch möglich, eine Schicht (e) zwischen Polypropylenfilm (a) und Klebstoffschicht- (b) aufzubringen.
Das Aufbringen der Schicht (b) und/oder (e) auf den Polypropylenfilm
kann vor einer oder beiden Verstreckungen des Films erfolgen, wobei die zweite oder beide Verstreckungen
an den mit den Schichten (b) und/oder (c) überzogenen Polypropylenfilmen durchgeführt wird bzw. werden.
Die Schicht (d) besteht, wie bereits erwähnt, aus einegi
Film oder einer Folie aus Aluminium, einem Polyester oder Polyamid.

Die Herstellung der Schichtstoffe gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung kann in an sich bekannter Weise durchgeführt
werden, beispielsweise durch Extrusionsbeschichtung oder Beschichtung von zwei Filmen miteinander.
| Die Schiohtstaffe gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung finden
\ vor allem Verwendung auf dem Gebiet der Verpackung von Lebensmitteln,
deren Aroma erhalten werden muß, wie etwa Kaffee, Tee,
t Gewürzen und genießbaren Substanzen fettiger Natur, die durch
j atmosphärischen Sauerstoff verderben. Überdies können sie zur
I Verpackung von Produkten unter Vakuum und zur Herstellung
J. von sterilisierbaren Verpackungen verwendet werden.
\ Die Schichtstoffe gemäß der Erfindung zeigen erhebliche Ver-
' besserungen und Vorteile gegenüber jenen herkömmlicher Art;
. insbesondere ist ihre Widerstandsfähigkeit gegenüber der
I Auflösung der Schichten nach Sterilisation bei 125°C höher als
1 150 g/cm (Schältest gemäß ASTM D 905-49), während die der
■ bekannten Schichtstoffe höchstens 100 g/den ist.
\ Die folgenden Beispiele sollen die Erfindung erläutern;
■ hierbei wurden die Schichtstoffe in einer Beschichtungs-
; maschine nach Kampf der Type Labsmaster hergestellt.
Eine Aluminiumfolie von 18 Mikron Dicke wird auf einer Seite (mittels einer Auftragevorrichtung) mit einer l#igen Lösung
des Reaktionsproduktes von 14 Molen Polyäthylenimin und 1 Mol
Epoxyharz, das durch Polykondensation von Eplchlorhydrin
mit 4,4'-Di-(oxyphenyl)-(dimethyl)-methan (Bisphenol A) zu
einem Produkt mit einem mittleren Molgewicht von 450 erhalten
wurde, in Methyläthylketon/Isopropylalkohol (2:1) überzogen.
Die Folie wird dann in einem Ofen getrocknet und mit einem 5O/U dicken Polypropylenfilm, der vorher mit einem 4/u dicken

handelsüblichen Polyesterklebstoff, wie EPS-Kleber der
Herberts Co. oder Ultraflex 11 Isaar oder ähnlichen Produkten
überzogen wurde, vereinigt. Der so erhaltene 72/u dicke
Schichtstoff besteht aus:
1) einem Polypropylenfilm,
2) einer ersten Schicht Polyesterklebstoff,
j5) einer zweiten Schicht aus einer Polyimin-Epoxyharzmischung
und
4) einer Aluminiumfolie
und zeigt die folgenden Werte der Widerstandsfähigkeit gegenüber der Lösung der Schichten:
vor der Sterilisation bei 125°C 260 g/cm
nach B " " 1250C 180 g/cm
Eine Aluminiumfolie von 18 Mikron Dicke wird auf einer Seite mittels einer. Auftragevorrichtung mit einer l#igen Lösung des
Reaktionsproduktes von 5 Molen Polyäthylen-imin und 1 Mol Epoxyharz, das durch Polykondensation von Epichlorhydrin mit
4,4'-Di-(oxyphenyi)-(dimethyl)-methan (Bisphenol A) erhalten
wurde und ein mittleres Molgewicht von 450 aufweist, in
Methyläthylketon/lsopropylalkohol (2:1) überzogen. Die Folie
wird dann in einem Heizschrank getrocknet und mit einem 50/U dicken Polypropylenfilm, der vorher mit einem 4/u dicken
handelsüblichen Polyesterkleb^toff, wie EPS-Klebstoff der
Herberts Co. oder Ultraflex 11 Isaar oder ähnlichen Produkten überzogen wurde, vereinigt. Der so erhaltene 72 /u dicke
Schichtstoff besteht aus:
1) einem Polypropylenfilm,
2) einer ersten Schicht aus einem Polyesterklebstoff,
5) einer zweiten Schicht aus einer Polyimin-Epoxyharzmisetmng
und

4) der Aluminiumfolie
und zeigt die folgenden Werte der Widerstandsfähigkeit gegenüber
der Lösung der Schichten;
vor der Sterilisation "bei 125°C 310 g/cm

Ein Film aus Polyamid (Nylon 11) von 40 Mikron Dicke wird auf einer Seite mittels einer Auftragevorrichtung mit einer
l#igen Lösung des Reaktionsproduktes von 5 Molen Polyäthylenimin und 1 Mol Epoxyharz, das durch Polykondensation von
Epichlorhydrin mit 4,4'~Di-(oxyphenyl)-(dimethyl)-methan
(Bisphenol A) erhalten wurde und ein mittleres Molgewicht von 450 aufweist, in Methyläthylketon/lsopropylalkohol
(2:1) überzogen. Der Film wird dann in einem Heizschrank getrocknet
und mit einem 50/U dicken Polypropylenfilm, der vorher
mit einem handelsüblichen Polyesterklebstoff (EPS-Klebstoff
der Herberts Co,) überzogen wurde, vereinigt. Der erhaltene Schichtstoff mit einer Dicke von 94 Mikron zeigt
die folgenden Werte der Widerstandsfähigkeit gegenüber der
Lösung der Schichten:
vor der Sterilisation bei 125°C 215 g/cm

Claims (1)
- Patentansprüche1. Sterilisationsbeständige Plastikschichtstoffe, gekennzeichnet durcha) einen Film aus Polypropylen, der.im wesentlichen aus Makromolekülen mit isotaktischer Struktur besteht und mit Hilfe von stereospezifischen Katalysatoren hergegestellt wurde,b) eine Klebstoffschicht,c) eine Schicht aus einer Verbindung, die durch Teilreaktion eines mono- oder polymeren Amins mit einem mono- oder polymeren Oxiranderivat erhalten wurde,d) einem Film oder einer Folie aus Aluminium, einem Polyester oder Polyamid.2. Plastikschichtstoffe nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Polypropylenfilm eine Dicke zwischen 5 und 1000 Mikron hat und gegebenenfalls einfach oder zweifach verstreckt ist.5. Plastikschichtstoffe nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Polypropylenfilm Stabilisatoren, Schmiermittel, Farbstoffe und/oder antißtatische Mittel enthält.4. Plastikschichtstoffe nach Anspruch 1 bis 3* dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Verbindung der Schicht (c) aus dem Reaktionsprodukt von Alkyleniminpolymeren mit einer Oxiranverbindung besteht.5. Plastikschichtstoffe nach Anspruch 1 bis 3» dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Verbindung der Schicht (c) aus dem Reaktionsprodukt von Aminen mit einer Oxiranverbindung besteht.6. Plastikschichtstoffe nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als Alkyleniminpolymere Polyäthylenimin oder Polypropylenimin verwendet.109828/17957. Plastikschichtstoffe nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als Amine Äthylendiamin, Diäthylentriamin oder Tetraäthylenpentamin verwendet.8. Plastikschichtstoffe nach Anspruch .4 bis 7* dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als Oxiranverbindung ein polymeres Reaktionsprodukt aus Epichlorhydrin und einem Bisphenol verwendet.9. Plastikschichtstoffe nach Anspruch 4 bis 7* dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als Oxiranverbindung Äthylenglykoldiglycidyläther oder Ν,Ν'-Diglycidylpiperazin verwendet.10. Verfahren zur Herstellung von Plastikschichtstoffen nach Anspruch 1 bis 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein Polypropylenfilm zunächst mit einem an sich bekannten Klebstoff aus thermoplastischen oder thermohärtenden Harzen überzogen und getrocknet und dann mittels einer Zwischenschicht aus einer Verbindung, die durch Teilreaktion ,eines mono- oder polymeren Amins mit einem mono- oder polymeren Oxiranderivat erhalten wird, mit einer Folie aus Aluminium, Polyester oder Polyamid vereinigt wird.109828/1795
