Description
Oil burner The invention relates to an oil burner with a front Atomizing nozzle of the burner head arranged greatly expanded combustion chamber, its Walls are equipped with openings for the combustion air and through which the Combustion air is blown in at right angles to the direction of the emerging flame.
There are oil burners of various types known that with burn a bright flame, often sooting at least at the edges of the flame, which essentially extends to a narrow cone in front of the burner mouth, the combustion and thus the formation of the flame essentially through one more or less large excess air is conditioned or influenced. For many uses, in the glass industry, for example, is a strongly luminous, "oxidizing" flame he wishes. However, the appearance of unburned oil and the settling of soot lead in any case often to operational disruptions. In addition, the imperfect combustion, which manifests itself in the remaining and settling of unburned components, too undesirable for economic reasons.
With the aim of achieving as complete a combustion as possible, you have the burner with a flat mouthpiece located in front of the atomizing nozzle equipped, which forms the combustion chamber, and here the combustion air exclusively openings surrounding the atomizer nozzle or a corresponding annular gap fed. However, this combustion air only reaches the outer area of the flame and does not penetrate into the core of the flame, so that the desired complete Combustion with only a small excess of air is not achieved by these known burners will.
There are also known burner designs mentioned at the beginning, in which the combustion air is essentially through in the walls of the air supply and openings arranged in the combustion chamber is blown in. The known devices but have the disadvantage that the air blown in does not reach the flame core advances to in this way a complete, but only with a small excess of air to achieve burning flame. These disadvantages result in particular from that the burner walls are circular or elliptical in cross section are and that in the known arrangements of this type, the air inlet openings are centric-symmetrical are arranged so that the incoming air leads to a constriction of the flame. With the known burners there is neither a complete combustion with little Excess air still has a wide flame with over, which is desirable for many applications achieved their cross-section approximately uniform heat distribution.
The present invention is based on the object of an oil burner to be designed in such a way that with the formation of an over the entire outlet cross-section of the Combustion chamber distributed flame a complete combustion without significant excess of air is achieved so that the flame externally resembles that of a gas burner.
According to the invention, this is done in that the aforementioned oil burners, the combustion chamber has a flat cross-section in a manner known per se and that the wider walls have rows of numerous smaller openings as well - additional ones have larger openings, preferably in a row-shaped arrangement, the Rows of the smaller openings each wedge-shaped in the direction of the atomizing nozzle are arranged converging.
The new design of the oil burner is not just like the well-known burners with a flat combustion chamber, a very limited one in one plane Oil mist cone and a flame corresponding to this cone achieved, but it is by arranging the smaller openings in the form of converging towards the atomizer nozzle Arrange a separation or division of the flame into individual partial flames or flame strips achieved.
Besides this splitting of the flame one achieves a guidance of the same, so that the flame over the cone width, which it is only due to the nozzle design and the combustion chamber wall would receive, is greatly expanded and at the same time the required combustion air is supplied through the small and larger openings receives. The combustion air can as a result of the arrangement of the openings on the broad sides of the burner deep into the relatively flat flame penetrate in order to reach the core of the flame, without this affecting the acquaintance Constrictions of the flame caused by the radial arrangement of the openings occur. Rather, the falmme is divided roughly in the form of a broom, and it is entirely possible due to the fact that it is blown into the core from two sides across the flame Air to make the flame bluish, i.e. H. reducing or shining or burns oxidatively, which was previously not possible with oil burners. One achieves a completely soot-free and odorless and low-loss combustion without difficulty with a very hot flame. For this purpose, they are preferably arranged in rows larger holes offset to the rows of smaller holes, on a gap or immediately placed behind it, so that the smaller openings between the rows located flame strips by means of the larger openings to complete Combustion required air is supplied.
To achieve that through the smaller openings in the combustion chamber incoming air currents cause a division of the flame and accordingly how partitions and guiding walls act, the invention also provides that within the rows the distance between the smaller openings is at most half as large is like the distance between adjacent larger openings.
Due to the strong widening of the oil mist cone or the flame, the latter is pushed towards the narrower walls of the combustion chamber and leads Here too strong heating, so that the walls already after a short period of operation be destroyed.
To avoid these disadvantages, the invention provides that in the narrower walls of the combustion chamber and in those that converge towards the atomizing nozzle Share some more air supply openings are provided. Through this training As experiments have shown, sufficient cooling of the narrower walls is achieved achieved.
It is useful if, according to a further feature of the invention the wider walls of the combustion chamber are shaped in flat waves, with the wave crests run in planes perpendicular to the axis of the burner and the openings are provided on the sides of the wave crests facing away from the fuel nozzle. Through this one achieves an additional effect on the oil mist cone or the flame, which consists in the fact that the oil mist cone or the flame in the direction of the outlet side of the burner is preferred.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment in a simplified representation the invention.
F i g. 1 ist ein Achsenschnitt durch den Brenner; F i g. 2 stellt einen Schnitt entlang der Linie II-II gemäß F i g. 1 dar, wobei jedoch die Außenwand des Ölbrenners nicht wiedergegeben ist.F i g. 1 is an axial section through the torch; F i g. 2 represents a section along the line II-II according to FIG. 1, but with the outer wall of the oil burner is not shown.
The outer wall 1 of the oil burner also forms the main air supply pipe, which can be narrowed inside like a venturi, towards the front in a flat rectangular cross-section passes over and encloses the combustion chamber 2.
The actual burner device of the usual type, the atomizing nozzle of which, like the other device parts, can act in any way, is located in an inner tube 3 through which the air used for atomizing is also passed. The inner pipe 3 lies coaxially in the main air supply pipe formed by the outer wall 1 and in turn receives the oil supply pipe 4 coaxially, to which the oil is supplied through the connector 5. The oil emerges from the atomizing nozzle 6. The amount of oil supplied to the combustion is controlled by a valve cone 7, which sits on a spindle 8 guided in a thread 9 and can be adjusted by a handwheel 10. This control can be coupled to a rotary slide valve that controls the amount of atomizing air. So that the atomizing air flowing through the inner tube 3 receives a vortex movement, it is blown through a vortex insert 11 arranged near the atomizing nozzle 6 , the air passage channels of which are arranged helically. The atomizing air enters the inner tube 3 through a nozzle 12. The main combustion air is supplied through a connecting piece connected to the main air supply pipe formed by the outer wall 1 from a burner fan not shown in the drawing.
The combustion chamber 2, which is held in a flat rectangular cross-section, has, as the drawing shows, in the wider walls 16 rows of numerous smaller openings 15 and rows of larger openings 14, the rows of smaller openings 15 each converging in the direction of the atomizing nozzle 6 in a wedge shape . The openings 15 are essentially arranged in such a way that the spacing of the openings within their rows is at most half as great as the spacing between adjacent larger openings 14.
It can also be seen from the drawing that the wider walls 16 of the combustion chamber 2 are formed in flat waves, the wave crests extending in planes perpendicular to the axis of the burner. The larger openings 14 are provided on the sides of the wave crests which face away from the atomizing nozzle 6, so that the openings 14 are directed somewhat obliquely forwards.
