Abstract
System, welches umfasst:mindestens eine Reformerbaugruppe (26), die Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoff aufnimmt und Wasserstoff aus einem ersten Ausgang abgibt und separat von dem Wasserstoff abgebenden ersten Ausgang ein wasserstoffabgereichertes Produkt aus einem zweiten Ausgang abgibt;mindestens eine Brennstoffzelle (28), die von dem ersten Ausgang des Reformers (26) Wasserstoff aufnimmt, aber nicht mit dem zweiten Ausgang des Reformers (26) verbunden ist, wobei die Brennstoffzelle (28) eine erste Energieabgabe und eine Abgabe von Wasserdampf vorsieht;wobei der Wasserdampf mit einem Produkt von dem zweiten Ausgang des Reformers (26) gemischt wird, um eine Mischung vorzusehen;wobei die Mischung mit Brennstoff gemischt wird und zu einer Turbine (12) gelenkt wird, um auf die Turbine (12) ein Drehmoment auszuüben;wobei die erste Energieabgabe der Brennstoffzelle (28) ebenfalls verwendet wird, um ein Drehmoment auf die Turbine (12) auszuüben.
Description
- Gebiet der Erfindung
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft allgemein das Kombinieren von Brennstoffzellen und Turbinen, um elektrische Energie oder Antrieb zu erzeugen.
- Hintergrund der Erfindung und Stand der Technik
- Die Bedeutung von energiesparenderen Vorrichtungen versteht sich von selbst. Es müssen nicht nur fossile Brennstoffe effizienter verbraucht werden, sondern das Beschränken der Menge fossiler Brennstoffe, die zum Erreichen von Energieerzeugung verbrannt werden müssen, scheint für die Umwelt sehr vorteilhaft.
- So offenbart die
US 5 678 647 A beispielsweise eine Vorrichtung, die zum direkten Bestromen eines unipolaren Elektromotors mit Gleichstrom (DC) vorgesehen ist und einen Steuermechanismus und eine Festoxid-Brennstoffzelle (SOFC) mit einem Brennstoff- und einem Oxidationsmitteleingang umfasst. - Zudem offenbart die US 2004 / 0 241 505 A1 eine Erfindung, die sich auf Prozessverbesserungen bei der Herstellung von Wasserstoff aus Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoff und dessen Verwendung in Brennstoffzellen bezieht. Insbesondere bezieht sich diese Erfindung auf ein Verfahrensschema, bei dem Synthesegas, das in einem zyklischen Reformierungsprozess erzeugt wird, in eine Festoxid-Brennstoffzelle („SOFC“) integriert und in dieser verwendet wird.
- Aus der
EP 1 926 171 A1 ist eine Vorrichtung sowie ein Verfahren bekannt, bei dem die in der Vorrichtung erzeugten Produkte vorteilhaft genutzt werden, um den Gesamtwirkungsgrad der Energieerzeugung der Vorrichtung zu erhöhen. Bei dieser autothermen Reformierung (ATR) eines Flüssigbrennstoffprozessors (LFP) wird ein teilweise reformiertes Synthesegas erzeugt, wobei ein flüssiger Kohlenwasserstoff, z.B. Schiffs- oder Fahrzeugdiesel, und Wasserdampf als Reaktanten verwendet werden. - Ferner beschreibt die
US 5 482 791 A eine Erfindung, die sich auf ein kombiniertes Brennstoffzellen-/Gasturbinen-Energieerzeugungssystem und insbesondere auf ein solches kombiniertes Energieerzeugungssystem mit einer Hochdruck-Phosphorsäure-Brennstoffzelle und einer Gasturbine in Kombination bezieht. Zudem bezieht sich diese Erfindung auf ein Verfahren zum Betrieb eines solchen kombinierten Brennstoffzellen-/Gasturbinen-Energieerzeugungssystems. - Zusammenfassung der Erfindung
- Erfindungsgemäß umfasst ein System einen Reformer, der Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoff aufnimmt und einen Wasserstoffstrom und einen Kohlenstoffstrom (z.B. in Form von Kohlenmonoxid) getrennt von dem Wasserstoffstrom abgibt. Eine Brennstoffzelle nimmt von dem Reformer ausgegebenen Wasserstoff auf, doch den Kohlenstoffstrom nimmt die Brennstoffzelle nicht auf. Die Brennstoffzelle sieht eine erste Energieabgabe und eine Abgabe von Wasserdampf vor, der mit von dem Reformer ausgegebenem Kohlenstoff gemischt wird, um eine Mischung vorzusehen. Die Mischung wird gegen Schaufeln einer Turbine gelenkt und verbrannt, um auf eine Ausgangswelle der Turbine ein Drehmoment auszuüben, während die erste Energieabgabe der Brennstoffzelle ebenfalls verwendet wird, um auf die Ausgangswelle der Turbine ein Drehmoment auszuüben.
- In beispielhaften, erfindungsgemäßen Ausführungsformen umfasst die Mischung weiterhin einen oberflächenaktiven Stoff. Die Ausgangswelle der Turbine kann bei Bedarf mit einem Generator gekoppelt werden, um den Generator zu veranlassen, elektrischen Strom abzugeben, wenn die Ausgangswelle gedreht wird, oder die Turbine kann verwendet werden, um ein Fahrzeug anzutreiben, so dass es sich bewegt.
- Die erste Energieabgabe der Brennstoffzelle kann mit einem Elektromotor verbunden sein und der Elektromotor mit einer Rotorkupplung in der Turbine gekoppelt sein, wobei die erste Energieabgabe den Elektromotor aktiviert. In manchen Ausführungsformen wird der Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoff zusätzlich zu dem Liefern zu dem Reformer einem Einlass der Turbine geliefert. Bei Bedarf kann die Brennstoffzelle auch mit einer Turbinenzündkomponente elektrisch verbunden werden, um dieser Zündenergie zu liefern.
- In einer nicht erfindungsgemäßen Ausgestaltung umfasst ein System eine Turbine mit einer Ausgangswelle und eine Abgabe vorsehende Brennstoffzelle, die mit der Turbine gekoppelt ist, um auf die Ausgangswelle ein Drehmoment auszuüben.
- In einer nicht erfindungsgemäßen Ausgestaltung umfasst ein Verfahren das Reformieren von Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoff zu Wasserstoff und Kohlenstoff, das Verwenden des Wasserstoffs, um elektrischen Strom zu erzeugen, und das Verwenden des elektrischen Stroms, um auf eine Ausgangswelle einer Turbine ein Drehmoment auszuüben.

1 -3 zeigen verschiedene veranschaulichende, nicht einschränkende Anwendungen von vorliegenden Prinzipien. Ein weiter unten beschriebenes Betätigungssystem 10 übt auf einen Rotor einer Turbine 12 ein Drehmoment aus, um eine Ausgangswelle 14 der Turbine zu drehen. Die Turbine 12 kann einen Kompressorabschnitt und einen Turbinenabschnitt gemäß Turbinenprinzipien umfassen und kann auch einen oder mehrere Rotoren oder Wellen aufweisen, die typischerweise miteinander gekoppelt sind und die zueinander konzentrisch sein können. - In
1 ist eine Ausgangswelle 14 der Turbine mit dem Rotor eines Stromgenerators 16 gekoppelt, um den Generatorrotor in einem elektrischen Feld zu drehen und somit den Generator 16 elektrischen Strom abgeben zu lassen. In2 ist die Ausgangswelle 14 mit dem Rotor eines Luftfahrzeugpropellers 18 verbunden, um den Propeller zu drehen und ihn somit Schub zum Antreiben eines Turboprop-Düsenflugzeugs erzeugen zu lassen. In3 ist die Ausgangswelle 14 mit dem Rotor einer Antriebskomponente 20 gekoppelt, wie etwa dem Rotor eines Hubschraubers, der Welle eines Wasserfahrzeugs, an dem ein Propeller montiert ist, oder einer Antriebswelle eines Landfahrzeugs, wie etwa einem Militärpanzer, um je nachdem den Rotor/die Welle/die Antriebswelle zu drehen, um die Plattform abhängig von der Natur der Beförderung durch die Luft oder das Wasser oder über Land vorwärtszutreiben. Die Antriebskomponente 20 kann einen Antriebsstrang umfassen, der eine Kombination von aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Komponenten umfassen kann, z.B. Kurbelwellen, Getriebe, Achsen usw. -
4 zeigt die Einzelheiten einer beispielhaften Ausführungsform des Betätigungssystems 10. Ein Brennstofftank 22, der kohlenwasserstoff-basierten Brennstoff, wie etwa Kerosin, enthält, aber nicht darauf beschränkt ist, kann dem Einlass 24 der Turbine 12 Brennstoff liefern. Der Brennstoff wird typischerweise durch Injektoren in die Turbine eingespritzt, wo er sich mit Luft mischt, die durch den Kompressorabschnitt der Turbine verdichtet und in einem so genannten „Flammenhalter“ oder „Topf“ gezündet wird. „Einlass“ bezeichnet im Allgemeinen diese Teile der Turbine, die die vor den Turbinenschaufeln liegen. Die Hochdruckmischung wird dann so gelenkt, dass sie auf die Turbinenschaufeln 25 auftrifft, die mit der Ausgangswelle 14 gekoppelt ist. Auf diese Weise wird auf die Ausgangswelle 14 ein Drehmoment ausgeübt, um sie um ihre Achse drehen zu lassen. - Zusätzlich zu oder statt des Betätigen der Turbine 12 mit Brennstoff direkt aus dem Brennstofftank 22 kann das Betätigungssystem 10 einen Reformer 26 umfassen, der Brennstoff aus dem Brennstofftank 22 erhält. Der Reformer 26 erzeugt Wasserstoff aus dem Brennstoff, und der Wasserstoff wird zu einer Brennstoffzelle 28 geschickt, in manchen Fällen wie gezeigt zuerst durch einen Wasserstofftank 29. Bei Bedarf können mehrere Reformer und/oder Brennstoffzellen parallel zueinander verwendet werden.
- Die Brennstoffzelle 28 nutzt den Wasserstoff, um elektrischen Strom zu erzeugen, typischerweise mit einem relativ hohen Wirkungsgrad, indem der Wasserstoff mit Sauerstoff aus z.B. der Umgebungsatmosphäre gemischt wird. Die Brennstoffzelle 28 kann ohne Einschränkung eine Polymeraustauschmembran-Brennstoffzelle (PEMFC), eine Festoxid-Brennstoffzelle (SOFC), eine alkalische Brennstoffzelle (AFC), eine Schmelzkarbonat-Brennstoffzelle (MCFC), eine Phosphorsäure-Brennstoffzelle (PAFC) oder eine Direktmethanol-Brennstoffzelle (DMFC) sein.
- Elektrischer Strom aus der Brennstoffzelle 28 wird wiederum zu einem Elektromotor 30 geschickt, um eine Ausgangswelle des Motors 30 drehen zu lassen. Die Motorwelle ist durch eine Rotorkopplung 32 mit einem Rotor der Turbine 12 mechanisch gekoppelt. Typischerweise ist der Turbinenrotor, mit dem der Motor 30 gekoppelt ist, nicht das gleiche Segment des die Schaufeln 25 lagernden Rotors, auch wenn dies bei manchen Umsetzungen der Fall sein kann. Stattdessen kann der Turbinenrotor, mit dem der Motor 30 gekoppelt sein kann, ein Segment des Schaufelrotors, der keine Schaufeln trägt, oder ein Rotor getrennt von dem Schaufelrotor und konzentrisch dazu oder anderweitig damit gekoppelt sein. In jedem Fall übt der Motor 30 bei Einschalten durch die Brennstoffzelle 28 (bei Bedarf durch geeignete Kupplungen) durch einen Turbinenrotor ein Drehmoment auf die Ausgangswelle 14 der Turbine 12 aus, die in manchen Fällen die gleiche Welle wie die den Turbinenrotor bildende sein kann.
- Um weitere Effizienzen zu verwirklichen kann ferner Wasser in Form von Dampf, der durch die Brennstoffzelle 28 erzeugt wird, mit Kohlenstoff von dem Reformer 26 in einer Mischvorrichtung 34 gemischt werden, die ein Tank oder ein einfaches Rohr oder ein anderer Hohlraum sein kann, in dem sich Wasser und Kohlenstoff mischen können, wobei die Mischung dann (durch z.B. geeignete Rohre oder Leitungen) zu dem Turbineneinlass 24 gelenkt wird. Bei Bedarf kann ein oberflächenaktiver Stoff aus einem Tank 36 für oberflächenaktiven Stoff ebenfalls der Dampf-/Kohlenstoffmischung beigegeben werden. In jedem Fall lässt sich nun nachvollziehen, dass die Dampf-/Kohlenstoffmischung eine Brennstoffeinspritzung direkt aus dem Brennstofftank 22 zu dem Turbineneinlass 24 ergänzen kann oder eine Brennstoffeinspritzung direkt aus dem Brennstofftank 22 zu dem Turbineneinlass 24 ganz ersetzen kann.
- Wie durch die elektrische Leitung 38 in
4 angedeutet, kann des Weiteren ein durch die Brennstoffzelle 28 erzeugter elektrischer Strom nicht nur verwendet werden, um den Elektromotor 30 zu aktivieren, sondern auch um Zündstrom für die entsprechenden Komponenten in dem Turbineneinlass 24 vorzusehen. Elektrischer Strom von der Brennstoffzelle kann auch für andere Hilfszwecke genutzt werden, z.B. zusätzlich zum Aktivieren des Elektromotors zum Antreiben anderer elektrischer Geräte. In Fällen, da der Reformer 26 Kohlendioxid und Dampf erzeugt, können diese Fluide direkt von dem Reformer 26 oder durch die Mischvorrichtung 34 auch zu dem Einlass 24 gelenkt werden. - In manchen Ausführungsformen kann bei Bedarf Wasser von der Brennstoffzelle 28 durch eine Wasserleitung 40 zu dem Reformer 26 zurückgeleitet werden. Bei Bedarf kann auch Wärme von der Turbine 12 aufgefangen und durch Leitungen/Rohre zurück zu dem Reformer 26 geführt werden, um den Reformer zu erwärmen.
- Während die bestimmte TURBINE MIT VERBESSERTEM WIRKUNGSGRAD hierin im Einzelnen gezeigt und beschrieben wird, ist der Schutzumfang der vorliegenden Anmeldung nur durch die beigefügten Ansprüche beschränkt.
Claims (7)
- System, welches umfasst: mindestens eine Reformerbaugruppe (26), die Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoff aufnimmt und Wasserstoff aus einem ersten Ausgang abgibt und separat von dem Wasserstoff abgebenden ersten Ausgang ein wasserstoffabgereichertes Produkt aus einem zweiten Ausgang abgibt; mindestens eine Brennstoffzelle (28), die von dem ersten Ausgang des Reformers (26) Wasserstoff aufnimmt, aber nicht mit dem zweiten Ausgang des Reformers (26) verbunden ist, wobei die Brennstoffzelle (28) eine erste Energieabgabe und eine Abgabe von Wasserdampf vorsieht; wobei der Wasserdampf mit einem Produkt von dem zweiten Ausgang des Reformers (26) gemischt wird, um eine Mischung vorzusehen; wobei die Mischung mit Brennstoff gemischt wird und zu einer Turbine (12) gelenkt wird, um auf die Turbine (12) ein Drehmoment auszuüben; wobei die erste Energieabgabe der Brennstoffzelle (28) ebenfalls verwendet wird, um ein Drehmoment auf die Turbine (12) auszuüben.
- System nach
Anspruch 1 , wobei die Mischung weiterhin einen oberflächenaktiven Stoff umfasst. - System nach
Anspruch 1 , wobei die Ausgangswelle (14) der Turbine (12) mit einem Generator gekoppelt ist, um den Generator elektrischen Strom abgeben zu lassen, wenn die Ausgangswelle (14) gedreht wird. - System nach
Anspruch 1 , wobei die Turbine (12) ein Fahrzeug antreibt, so dass es sich bewegt. - System nach
Anspruch 1 , wobei die erste Energieabgabe der Brennstoffzelle (28) mit einem Elektromotor (30) verbunden ist und der Elektromotor (30) mit einer Rotorkupplung der Turbine (12) gekoppelt ist, wobei die erste Energieabgabe den Elektromotor (30) aktiviert. - System nach
Anspruch 1 , wobei der Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoff zusätzlich zum Liefern zu dem Reformer (26) einem Einlass (24) der Turbine (12) geliefert wird. - System nach
Anspruch 1 , wobei die Brennstoffzelle (28) mit einer Turbinenzündkomponente elektrisch verbunden ist, um dieser Zündenergie zu liefern.
