PATENTAMT.
Den Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung bildet ein Deckelverschlufs für Blechdosen zur Aufnahme flüssiger Farben, Lacke u. dergl., und zwar wird der Deckel ohne Löthung durch einfache Klemmwirkung an der Dose befestigt, um letztere im Bedarfsfalle ohne Zuhülfenahme besonderer Werkzeuge öffnen zu können. Die bisher gebräuchlichen Deckelverschlüsse für Blechdosen der genannten Art zeigen, wie weiter unten näher erläutert werden wird, den Uebelstand, dafs sie bei geringen Formveränderungen des Dosen- oder Deckelrandes undicht werden und das Ausfliefsen der Flüssigkeit zur Folge haben. Diesem Mangel hat man bereits dadurch abzuhelfen gesucht, dafs man die Verschlufsränder mit einem später erhärtenden Dichtungsmittel bestrich.
Nach vorliegender Erfindung soll der erwähnte Uebelstand dadurch beseitigt werden, dafs ein Deckelverschlufs mit doppelter Randdichtung zur Anwendung gebracht wird, bei welchem ein Undichtwerden des Schliefsrandes bezw. das Herausfliefsen der in der Dose ent-■ haltenen Flüssigkeit vollständig ausgeschlossen ist.
Fig. ι beiliegender Zeichnung zeigt die theilweise im Schnitt gezeichnete Ansicht einer solchen Blechdose mit Deckel, während durch Fig. 2 bis 7 der vorliegende Verschlufs und einige bisher gebräuchliche Deckelverschlüsse in gröfserem Mafsstabe veranschaulicht sind.
Wie aus der Zeichnung hervorgeht, wird die Dose α mit einem nach innen und aufsen kegelförmig abfallenden Doppelrande b1 b'2 versehen, auf welchen der Deckel c mit seinem entsprechend gestalteten Doppelrande d1 d'2 aufgesetzt wird. Wie aus einem Vergleiche der Fig. 2 und 3 ersichtlich ist, wird hierbei der innere, federnde Rand bl der Dose α durch den Innenrand dl des Deckels c derartig zurückgedrückt, dafs beide bündig auf einander zu liegen kommen. Gleichzeitig wird aber hierbei auch durch den Rand dl der äufsere Deckelrand d'2 fest gegen den Aufsenrand b'2 der Dose gezogen und auf diese WTeise eine doppelte Randdichtung geschaffen, die das Ausfliefsen der in der Dose enthaltenen Flüssigkeit verhindert, wenn eine Stelle des inneren oder äufseren Randes der Dose oder des Deckels verbogen ist.
Dafs diese Wirkung durch die bisher bekannt gewordenen Deckelverschlüsse nicht erreichbar ist, geht ohne WTeiteres aus den Fig. 5 und 7 hervor, in welchen die richtige Deckeldichtung durch punktirte Linien angedeutet ist, während die ausgezogenen Linien eine durch Formveränderung des Dosenrandes entstandene schadhafte Stelle des Verschlusses veranschaulichen, welche unter allen Umständen das Herausfliefsen der in der Dose befindlichen Flüssigkeit zur Folge haben mufs, wenn der Verschlufs hiergegen nicht ' durch einen besonderen Lacküberzug oder dergleichen gesichert wird.

Claims (1)

  1. Patent-Anspruch:
    Deckelverschlufs für Blechdosen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dafs auf den doppelten, nach innen und aufsen konisch abfallenden Ver-
    schlufsrand der Dose (α) ein mit entsprechend gestaltetem Doppelrande versehener Deckel (c) derartig aufgesetzt wird, dafs beim Zurückdrücken des inneren Dosenrandes (bl) durch den inneren Deckelrand (d1) auch der äufsere Deckelrand (d2) fest gegen den äufseren Dosenrand (b^) geprefst wird, zum Zwecke, lediglich durch Klemmwirkung des doppelten Randes ein Undichtwerden des Verschlusses zu verhüten.
