The invention relates to the use of phosphoric acid amides as a means for improving or increasing the resistance of plants to drought stress (dry stress tolerance), which is associated with a strengthening of plant growth and an increase in the yield.
Beschreibungdescription
Zu den abiotischen Stressoren zählen beispielsweise Wasser (Trockenheit, Überflutung), extreme Temperaturbedingungen (Hitze, Kälte, Frost), chemische Belastungen (Nährstoffmangel, Versalzung, Schwermetalle, gasförmige Noxen), Belastungen durch Strahlung und reaktive Sauerstoffspezies (oxidativer Stress).Abiotic stressors include, for example, water (dryness, flooding), extreme temperature conditions (heat, cold, frost), chemical pollution (lack of nutrients, salinisation, heavy metals, gaseous pollutants), exposure to radiation and reactive oxygen species (oxidative stress).
It is known that plants have developed specific mechanisms on a morphological-anatomical, physiological, biochemical and molecular level in order to allow adaptations to occurring stress conditions and to maintain productivity.
From a plant cultivation point of view, there are several ways to improve the resistance of plants to drought stress. This is done, for example, by a breeding approach, whereby by selection plants are produced with desirable properties. This is very costly and time consuming.
Likewise, it is now possible with the help of plant genetic engineering to equip plants specifically with improved agronomic or economic properties. However, the genetic complexity of stress tolerance and the partial lack of social acceptance make the fast and worldwide use of these plants difficult.
The increase of the dry stress tolerance of crops by application of active substances therefore represents a commercially attractive alternative.
Stand der TechnikState of the art
In this context, a number of substances are known to activate the plant's defense against abiotic stress. Such substances are applied either by seed dressing, by foliar spraying or by soil treatment.
In addition, there are a number of commercial pesticides that increase resistance to abiotic stress.
The said agents have varying degrees of often insufficient biological effectiveness or application safety. Due to the manifold factors influencing the practical conditions (eg location and climate), the results obtained under experimental conditions are often insufficiently reproducible.
A further disadvantage is that complex syntheses are often required for the preparation of many active ingredients.
Aufgabenstellungtask
The present invention therefore an object of the invention to find compounds through the application of the resistance of the plant is increased against drought stress. This should help to make the naturally existing yield potential of agricultural crops, even under dry stress conditions, more usable.
The active ingredients should be accessible here at low production costs and only a few reaction stages from basic chemicals.

The concrete application conditions can quickly be determined or optimized by the skilled person by means of simple routine tests.
In this case, a phosphoric acid amide used according to the invention can be applied alone or it is applied in combination with other phosphoric acid amides used according to the invention, at the same time or successively in different application steps.
The plants which are preferably treated with the phosphoric acid amides used in the present invention include agricultural crop, horticultural, ornamental and forestry species in their natural or genetically modified form.
In contrast, no yield-reducing effects of the phosphoric acid amides used according to the invention are observed with optimum water supply (see Table 2). This increased application security of the compounds used according to the invention represents a further significant advantage over the prior art.
