Production of a sandwich plate, using a lower mold (10) providing the contour of the plate and an upper mold (8) with injection and deaeration nozzles, involves successively applying coarse fabric layer(s) (6), strengthening plate(s) (7) and further coarse fabric layer(s) to the interior of the lower mold; tightly closing the upper mold (if necessary after spraying with gel coat) onto the lower mold; injecting casting resin (12) through the injection nozzle; sucking out air via the deaeration nozzle; and hardening the plate in the mold. Production of a sandwich plate, using a lower mold (10) providing the contour of the plate and an upper mold (8) with injection and deaeration nozzles, involves: (1) applying coarse fabric layer(s) (6) on the inside of the lower mold (if necessary after spraying with a gel coat and optionally further covering with fine fabric layer(s); (2) applying reinforcing plate(s) (7) to provide insulation and dimensional stability; (3) applying coarse fabric layer(s) (6), optionally followed by applying fine fabric layer(s); (4) tightly closing the upper mold (if necessary after spraying with gel coat) onto the lower mold; (5) injecting casting resin (12) into the mold through the injection nozzle; (6) sucking air from the mold via the deaeration nozzle; and (7) hardening the sandwich plate in the mold. Independent claims are included for: (A) a variant of the process, in which the upper mold does not have an injection nozzle and (instead of injection of the resin) a thin layer of resin is applied to the fabric layer-reinforcing plate-fabric layer assembly before closing the mold; (B) the production of adapted frames (3) for the reverse side of door panels, by covering the indentations for the frame in a lower mold with fabrics, optionally applying a filling (11), closing the mold at the exterior side with a rotated upper mold and injecting resing, deaerating and hardening as above; and (C) a variant on the frame production process, in which the mold is closed with a separate upper mold for multiple models of frames and multiple injection nozzles are optionally used.
