Abstract

Σύμφωνα με μια νέα διεργασία για την βιομηχανική παρασκευή φουρφουράλης, ένα «περιέχων-πεντοζάνη» ακατέργαστο υλικό που είναι και δεν είναι οξινοποιημένο, θερμαίνεται σε μια θερμοκρασία Τ1 μέσω αποδοχής ατμού δια μέσου της βαλβίδας 2 ενώ οι βαλβίδες 3 και 4 είναι κλειστές. Κατά την διάρκεια της πολύ βραχείας διεργασίας θέρμανσης, ο ατμός συμπυκνώνεται αυξάνοντας συνεπώς το περιεχόμενο υγρασίας του φορτίου. Κατόπιν, η βαλβίδα 2 κλείνει και ανοίγει η βαλβίδα διαφυγής 3, έτσι ώστε να παραχθεί μια σταθερή μικρή ροή ατμών προϊόντος μέσω βαθμιαίας αποσυμπίεσης. Αυτό προκαλεί μια αργή πτώση στην θερμοκρασία. Όταν επιτευχθεί κατ' αυτόν τον τρόπο ή καταλλήλως επιλεχθείσα θερμοκρασία Τ2, τότε η βαλβίδα διαφυγής 3 κλείνει για την περάτωση της πρώτης «βαθμιαίας» αποσυμπίεσης. Εφόσον κατά το πέρας αυτής της χρονικής περιόδου δεν ελήφθη καθόλου περισσότερη φουρφουράλη, τότε η διαδικασία παραμονής ενός ιζήματος μέσα στο μητρικό υγρό κατά την οποία αυξάνεται το μέγεθος των κρυστάλλων συμπληρώνεται μέσω διάνοιξης της βαλβίδας 4 για την απόρριψη του καταλοίπου. Εφόσον ωστόσο, λαμβανόταν ακόμη φουρφουράλη, τότε ο αντιδραστήρας επανα-θερμαίνεται και υποβάλλεται σε μια άλλη χρονική περίοδο «βαθμιαίας αποσυμπίεσης».
