Abstract

The improvements allow frequent and simplified inspection and maintenance of a fire extinguisher with minimal training and without requiring specialized equipment. The improvements include an anti-agglutination mechanism that can be articulated from outside the chamber to sponge, mix or stir the powder inside the chamber and thus keep it in a liquefaction state. Other improvements include a larger opening for rapid filling and inspection of the dust inside the chamber. Another improvement includes the use of a <sub> 2 </sub> CO cartridge located outside the chamber to facilitate maintenance or replacement of only the <sub> 2 </sub> CO cartridge as well as the capacity of maintaining the chamber in a pressure-free condition which allows shipping without HASMAT. These features extend maintenance intervals as long as they keep the fire extinguisher in active condition. </p>
