Abstract

En el presente documento se describe un empaque que reduce la cantidad de material utilizado para su construcción, por lo menos parcialmente, conforme a los contenidos almacenados en el mismo. El empaque incluye una bandeja rígida o semi-rígida que incluye unapared inferior, una pared posterior, y un par de paredes laterales. Las paredes están configuradas de manera que la bandeja tiene una abertura en al menos dos caras, tales como una cara frontal y una cara superior, que están inclinadas en un ángulo de al menos ciento ochenta grados en relación la una con la otra. La abertura está definida por bordes libres de las paredes, incluyendo un borde frontal de la pared inferior, un borde superior de la pared posterior, y bordes de las paredes laterales. La bandeja además incluye opcionalmente una brida periférica que se extiende desde los bordes de la misma, tales como hacia el interior o hacia el exterior de la misma. La brida periférica proporciona superficies de sellado para la adhesión a una cubierta o para de otra forma acoplarse con una cubierta que cubre la abertura a la bandeja.
