Abstract
Los caños de acero recubiertos moldeados a presión comprenden un recubrimiento de concreto o mortero anular a lo largo de un diámetro interno, y una carcasa metálica que rodea el recubrimiento, en tanto el recubrimiento está en contacto directo con la carcasa metálica. El espesor de pared del recubrimiento puede oscilar entre 10 y 50 veces el espesor de la carcasa metálica. El caño puede ser recubierto con un material dieléctrico. Un conjunto de moldeo usado para fabricar el caño incluye una cámara para una composición de concreto o mortero anular formada entre la carcasa metálica y un elemento de molde interno. Se utiliza agua presurizada en el sistema de molde para presurizar la composición de concreto o mortero y ejercer una presión deseada sobre la carcasa metálica mientras la composición se cura en el molde. Una vez alcanzado el grado deseado de curado, la presión es retirada haciendo que la carcasa metálica ejerza una fuerza de compresión deseada sobre el recubrimiento curado.
