Abstract
一种可热封的、经取向的多层塑料薄膜、它具有低摩擦系数、优良的抗静电性和良好的光学透明度、该薄膜包括:
a)芯层、它由含抗静电添加剂的结晶聚烯烃组成、芯层的两面用下述b)直接或间接覆盖。
b)至少是一种可热封层、它由立构规整性较低的聚烯烃和抗粘连剂所组成。
这中薄膜的特征在于只有一层外层(b)含有硅油,在使用时它转移到外层(b)的另一层。
Description
本发明涉及一种可热封的、经取向的多层塑料薄膜。
美国专利4,419,411公开了一种经取向的多层聚丙烯薄膜,它包括下述(a)(b)的共挤出层:
(a)基层、由立构规整性较高的聚丙烯组成,它的前体树脂中包含一种具有约8到24个碳原子的不溶于水的单元羧酸的酰胺,及所述各种酰胺的混合物;
(b)表层,它由一种立构规整性较低的聚烯烃所组成,至少在(a)基层的一面,所述表层包含由分散的细粒硅石和硅油组合成的表面改性部分。
表层(b)的表面上喷霜有至少某些(a)中酰胺的表面改性部分。
虽然这种薄膜对于大多数高速包装操作是十分令人满意,但本发明试图提供一种有着更好性能的薄膜,它有很低的摩擦系数、优异的抗静电性,良好的光学透明度以及用于高速包装机器中,尤其是在已进行热封之处有降低薄膜粘结在一起的倾向。
因此,按照本发明,提供了一种可热封的经取向的(最好是经双轴取向)多层薄膜,它包括:
a)芯层,它由一种含抗静电添加剂的结晶聚烯烃组成,最好为聚丙烯、尤其是等规聚丙烯,该芯层的两面都用下述(b)直接或间接覆盖。
b)至少一种可热封层,它由一种立构规整性较低的聚烯烃和一种抗粘连剂所组成,其中仅一层外层(b)(表层)中含有硅油,在使用中它能转移到另一层外层(b)(表层)。
最好、本发明的塑料薄膜包括一芯层,它的两面每面都用一种可热封层直接覆盖。可以通过共挤出该多层来复盖芯层而制成本发明的塑料薄膜。然后,将该塑料薄膜通过单轴或最好是双轴形变进行取向。
最好的结晶聚丙烯是高结晶度、高立构规整聚丙烯,它在446°F的熔体流动指数(MFI)为1到25,最好为1.5到6,特别好是1.5到5;其结晶熔点为321°F到325°F;数均分子量为25,000到100,000;而密度为0.90到0.91。
芯层中所含的抗静电添加剂最好由一种胺或一种甘油脂例如单硬脂酸甘油脂所组成,该胺可以是单胺或二元胺,最好是单胺;例如:椰子胺或硬脂酰胺。该胺最好是叔胺,如N,N-双取代的烷基或链烯基胺类;例如,N,N-双(2-羟乙基)取代的这类胺,该叔胺特别好是C6到C18烷基或链烯基胺等叔胺;例如,N,N-双(2-羟乙基)椰子胺或N,N-双(2-羟乙基)硬脂酰胺。
已发现,存在甘油脂和胺、特别是叔胺的所得的塑料薄膜能耐吸尘。
组成可热封层的立构规整性较低的聚烯烃,最好是无规共聚物(例如,由乙烯和丙烯聚合成的无规共聚物)和/或三元共聚物(例如,由乙烯、丙烯和丁烯-1聚合成的三元共聚物)。最好共聚物中乙烯含量为2%到9%(重量),较好为2%到7%(重量),更好为3%到5%(重量)。特别满意的共聚物是乙烯-丙烯-丁烯-1三元共聚物,其中丁烯-1含量为2%到9%(重量),较好为3%到7%(重量),最好是4%到5%(重量)。合适的共聚物通常在446°F下的MFI为2到15,较好的为3到8;结晶熔点为245°F到302°F;数均分子量为25,000到100,000;密度为0.89到0.90。三元共聚物具有优异的热封特性。然而,它们却不具有立构规整性较高的聚丙烯所固有的优异物理特性。因此,组成芯层的高立构规整性聚丙烯具有良好的防湿性、劲度、高强度和光学性能的优异特性,而立构规整性较低的三元共聚物共挤出的薄表面层提供了优异的热封特性。为了利用这些特性,必须将表层加以改性以便使薄膜暴露于热封温度后,显示出良好的滑爽性特性和与邻近薄膜部分不相粘结的趋势。同时,要求避免加入太多的添加剂,否则会产生不均匀性和雾度。
每一表层的厚度薄于0.8微米为最好。只要能保持薄膜连续性,该表层的最小厚度是无关紧要。
可热封层中所含有的较好的抗粘连剂可以为任何颗粒状的无机材料,它最好具有0.5到5微米的平均颗粒尺寸。市场上可购到的一种硅石平均颗粒尺寸为0.75微米,另一种平均颗粒尺寸为4.5微米,发现它们都很适用。金属硅酸盐、玻璃、粘土和其它粉末状无机材料也都可使用。每一可热封层中所含的抗粘连剂为0.05%到0.5%(重量),最好为0.1%到0.3%(重量)。
本发明的塑料薄膜中的一个重要组分是硅油。将该硅油以一定量加进可热封层的一层中,结果使加入硅油的该层上保持了较低的摩擦系数,并且在使用中与该层表面接触的另一可热封层的裸露表面上也有很低的摩擦系数。可热封层中该硅油的含量较好为0.5%到5%(重量),例如3.0%(重量),但更好的为1.1%到1.5%(重量)。
本发明的塑料薄膜可采用市场上购到的用于共挤出树脂的系统来制备。于是,立构规整性较高的聚丙烯均聚体最好可与一种乙烯-丙烯无规共聚物进行共挤出,该无规共聚物为含有普通任选的组分(如蜡)和抗粘连剂的立构规整性较低的聚合物。可将这两种聚合物加热到熔融状态并用普通的挤出机通过平片模头共挤出,该熔体流在从模头中被挤出之前先在模头接套中混合。离开模口之后,将塑料薄膜急冷,然后最好将该急冷的薄膜再加热并通常将其沿轴向拉伸4到6倍,接着通常沿横向拉伸4到10倍。然后可修整膜边,最后将该膜收卷于芯筒上。
最好,将上述制取的薄膜在约80°到125°F温度条件下调理或平衡6小时到1星期。所得的塑料薄膜将具有0.10到0.40的摩擦系数(COF),较好为0.20到0.30;例如0.25,并且将其保持在高达140°F的温度后再紧卷薄膜也将不会结块。
摩擦系数(COF)可通过美国专利3,399,156所述的“运动滑块-静态膜”(moving slide-stationary film)法进行测定。
市场上可购到的聚丙烯均聚物和几种共聚物以及它们大致的熔点列于下表中。

可以通过将薄膜料卷送入一台立式或卧式类型的包装机中对所制取的塑料薄膜进行试验。这些包装机上装有高精度控制器。在输送过机器期间,每个包装都经过可造成包装与包装相粘结和阻力的三个热封区域。热封时间为几分之一秒。为避免产生导致包受卡和停机的阻力,薄膜在室温下的COF必须保持在约0.2-0.3之间,通常约为0.25。操作的成功取决于实际没有包与包间的粘结和阻力存在和使包运行过体系所需要的中等到较低的力以及在整个密封表面上至少40°F(最好70°)到90°F的密封范围。
下面实例进一步说明本发明。
对比例1
将一种高立构规整性的聚丙烯均聚物(MFI约为4,DSC熔点约为160℃)熔融,然后与两层表层共挤出,两层表层分别是,上层为含约0.3%硅石抗粘连剂的乙烯-丙烯-丁烯-1三元共聚物层,底层也是这种三元共聚物,但它含1.2%的液态硅氧烷和0.2%的硅石作为抗粘连剂。然后将共挤出膜急冷到80°F到110°F,再加热到240°F到280°F并沿轴向拉伸4到10倍。所得到的单轴取向薄膜再在合适的温度条件下用绷架沿横向进行取向。
所制的薄膜总厚度为21微米,其中每一表层厚为0.6微米,其后该薄膜经电晕放电处理然后再收卷以形成料卷。
这种薄膜容许在立式或卧式包装系统中使用。它在斯堪的那(Scandia)香烟包装机中使用也得到了令人满意的性能,不过所制得的包装抗静电性差。
对比例2
重复对比例1,只是在聚丙烯均聚物中包含约1000PPM的N,N-双(2-羟乙基)椰子胺、1000PPM的N,N-双(2-羟乙基)硬脂酰胺和500PPM的单硬脂酸甘油酯,并且两层表层的组成一样,都含有液态硅氧烷。
试验表明:上层的热封能力基本消失,因此该薄膜不适于在立式、卧式或Scandia包装机中使用。
对比例3
重复对比例2,只是在上层表层中不加硅石和硅氧烷。
因为该薄膜的摩擦性能差,所以在立式、卧式或Scandia包装系统中的试验不到1分钟就卡住了。
实例4
重复对比例2,只是在上层表层中不加硅氧烷。在立式包装系统中的试验以每分钟22个包装速度良好操作(在新型系统上,可以高达每分钟70个包装的速度操作是可能的)。在卧式包装系统中,该薄膜以每分钟170个包装的速度良好操作。在Scandia香烟包装机中,该薄膜以每分钟172个包的速度良好操作。
薄膜样品表明,在上层和底层基材上有0.25到0.30的摩擦系数,有良好的静态半衰期行为并且没有发现吸尘现象。实际上不存在包装与包装间的粘结问题,所以包装能很顺利地进行。
实例5
重复实例4,只是聚丙烯均聚物中只包含1000PPM的N,N-双(2-羟乙基)椰子胺。
试验表明:在立式、卧式和Scandia包装机中使用,该膜具有令人满意的性能,仅有极小的吸尘现象。
Claims (15)
1、一种可热封的、经取向的多层塑料薄膜,它包括:
a)芯层,它由含抗静电添加剂的结晶聚烯烃组成,该芯层的两面用下述b)直接或间接覆盖,
b)至少一种可热封层,由立构规整性较低的聚烯烃和抗粘连剂所组成,
这种薄膜的特征在于外层(b)仅有一层含有硅油,在使用过程中它转移到另一外层(b)。
2、按照权利要求1所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中包括一个芯层,该芯层的两面每面都直接用一种可热封层覆盖。
3、按照权利要求1或2所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中通过共挤出出多层进行覆盖。
4、按上述任一权利要求所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中芯层中所含的抗静电添加剂为胺或甘油酯。
5、按照权利要求4所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中胺为单或二叔胺。
6、按照权利要求4或5所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中甘油酯为单硬脂酸甘油酯。
7、按上述任一权利要求所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中组成(b)层的聚烯烃为一种无规共聚物。
8、按照权利要求7所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中无规共聚物为乙烯和丙烯共聚物,并且在不同可热封层中可以是相同或不同的无规共聚物。
9、按上述任一权利要求所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中组成(b)层的聚烯烃为一种三元共聚物。
10、按照权利要求9所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中三元共聚物为乙烯、丙烯和丁烯-1三元共聚物,并且在不同可热封层中可以是相同或不同的三元共聚物。
11、按照权利要求7到10任一所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中共聚物包括2%到7%(重量)的乙烯。
12、按上述任一权利要求所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中抗粘连剂包括平均颗粒尺寸为0.5到5.0微米的颗粒状无机物。
13、按上述任一权利要求所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中可热封层每层中的抗粘连剂为0.05%到0.5%(重量)。
14、按上述任一权利要求所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中外层(b)的一层包含0.5%到3.0%的硅油。
15、按上述任一权利要求所述的一种塑料薄膜,其中基本无硅油的外层(b)经过电晕放电、化学或火焰处理。
