Abstract

Description
技术领域
本公开内容涉及一种新且改进的基于数字成像的码符号读取系统以及在手持式操作模式和免提式操作模式这二者下操作其的方法。
背景技术
在大多数手持式数字成像系统中,在成像系统的积分周期期间,当在握持该系统的手正颤动或摇晃的同时对图像进行拍摄时,出现运动模糊。这样的运动模糊出现在这样捕获的图像中,即使当颤动轻微且对于人眼而言是不可容易观察的时也是如此。
在下列专利和专利申请出版物中已经开发并公开了多种方法以减少相机型手持式成像系统中的运动模糊:美国专利号6,924,837;7,539,403;7,565,068和7,657,164;以及美国专利公开号2006/0238621和2010/0078479。

在一个方面中,本发明提供了1、一种基于数字成像的码符号读取系统,其特征在于,包括:
具有光传输孔的可手持壳体;
设置在所述可手持壳体中的图像形成和检测子系统,其具有图像形成光学器件,所述图像形成光学器件用来产生视场(FOV)并且将该视场投射通过所述光传输孔且到区域型图像检测阵列上,所述区域型图像检测阵列用于在对象照明和成像操作期间检测所述FOV内对象的一个或多个2D数字图像;
设置在所述可手持壳体中的照明子系统,其包括照明阵列,所述照明阵列用于在所述FOV内产生宽区域照明场,并且对在所述FOV中检测到的所述对象进行照明,使得所述照明反射离开所述对象并且向回传输通过所述光传输孔且到所述图像检测阵列上以形成所述对象的所述2D数字图像;

图像形成和检测(即,照相机)子系统21包括图像形成(照相机)光学器件34和CMOS区域型图像检测阵列35,该图像形成光学器件34用于在要成像的对象上提供视场(FOV)33,该CMOS区域型图像检测阵列35用于在照明和图像采集/捕获操作期间检测被该对象反射出来的成像光。
基于LED的照明子系统22的主要功能是,当在该FOV内自动检测对象时,从LED阵列23产生宽区域照明场36。特别地,该照明场具有窄的光学带宽,并且分别在照明模式和成像模式期间,在空间上被限制于该图像形成和检测子系统21的FOV之内。设计了此布置以确保仅仅从该照明子系统22发射并且从被照明对象反射的窄带照明,最终能够传输通过该系统内的窄带传输型光学滤波器子系统40,并且到达该CMOS区域型图像检测阵列35,以进行检测和处理,而由光收集光学器件收集的所有其它周围光分量基本上在该图像检测阵列35处被抑制,由此提供了改进的SNR,因而改进了该系统的性能。
窄带传输型光学滤波器子系统40通过下列来实现:(1)在成像窗口3处内包括的高通(如红波长反射)滤波器元件,和(2)安装在CMOS区域型图像检测阵列35前面或者在超过该高通滤波器元件后面任何地方的低通滤波器元件,包括被实现为在FOV折叠式反射镜74和75中的至少一个上支持的分色镜 膜,如图2A和2B中所示。
如图2B中所示,线性LED阵列23与被包括或集成在成像窗口3的上边缘内的照明聚焦透镜结构130对准。同样,形成在PC板8中的光传输孔60在空间上在形成在前部壳体部2A中的成像窗口3内被对准。照明聚焦透镜结构130的功能是,聚焦来自单个线性LED阵列23的照明,并且对位于该系统的FOV的工作距离内任何地方的对象进行均匀地照明。

条形码符号读取操作的手动触发方法:

步骤1:对符号读取系统进行初始化,并且在存储器中设定加速度阈限。该加速度阈限可以以单位[m/s2]或等价的度量单位来度量。

条形码符号读取操作的自动触发方法:
在图4B中,示出了基于数字成像的系统1,在自动检测到该系统的FOV内的对象时,使用由基于IR的自动运动检测和分析子系统20生成的IR射束,生成并投影其线性瞄准照明射束70至该系统的FOV 33中。在此线性瞄准操作模式期间,一对基本平面化的照明射束在该系统的PC板上的FOV光学器件34周围生成,被反射离开FOV折叠式反射镜75,并最终被投射出到该FOV的中央部分中,这是因为单个线性瞄准照明射束70对于人类而言具有高可见度特性。
当读取诸如消费者产品之类的条形编码的对象时,用户将自动生成的瞄准照明射束70与该对象上的条形码符号对准,并且由子系统20自动检测该条形码符号。在自动检测到该条形码符号时,子系统21、25和26在子系统30的控制下协作,以使用图7或8中所示出的手动触发过程,来捕获、缓冲和处理该FOV的数字图像(以及它包括的所有的,以致力于读取该对象上的条形码符号,并且当读取了该条形码符号时,子系统27把符号字符数据传输给主机系统。

步骤1:对符号读取系统进行初始化,并且在存储器中设定加速度阈限。该加速度阈限可以以单位[m/s2]或等价的度量单位来度量。
步骤2:在自动检测到视场(FOV)中任何对象时,该符号读取系统在当前照明和成像时段期间进行加速度测量,然后自动确定当前加速度测量结果是否超过在存储器中设定的加速度阈限。

步骤6:如果在步骤5处的加速度测定在加速度阈限水平之下,则该系统捕获另一数字图像并试图读取在所捕获数字图像中图形编码的条形码符号。
步骤7:如果该系统成功读取了所捕获数字图像中的条形码符号,则该系统将对应的符号字符数据传输给主机系统;以及如果该系统未能成功读取所捕获数字图像中的条形码符号,则该系统返回到步骤2并等待自动检测到该FOV中对象。

在图8中,示出有由基于数字成像的系统1支持的第二自动触发条形码符号读取方法。
步骤1:对符号读取系统进行初始化,并且在存储器中设定加速度阈限。该加速度阈限可以以单位[m/s2]或等价的度量单位来度量。

一些容易想到的修改:
在替换实施例中,照明子系统22内采用的线性照明阵列23可以使用除LED外的固态光源来实现,诸如,像可见激光二极管(visible laser diode,VLD),其在下列文献中被非常详细地教导了:于2002年5月30日公开的WIPO号WO02/43195 A2和于2007年7月19日提交并被转让给Metrologic Instruments公司的共同待决的美国申请No.11/880,087,并且这些文献通过引用将其全部内容结合于此。然而,当在本实用新型的数字图像捕获和处理系统中使用基于VLD的照明技术时,必须非常关注消除或者以其它方式充分减少当在对象照明和成像操作期间使用相干照明源时,在图像检测阵列35处生成的斑点噪声。在前的WIPO公开号WO 02/43195A2和于2007年7月19日提交的美国专利申请号11/880,087公开了不同的方法和设备,用来消除或充分减少当使用基于VLD的照明阵列时,在图像形成和检测期间的斑点噪声。
同样,线性照明阵列能够使用可见和不可见照明源这二者的组合来实现,如在申请人的于2007年7月19日提交的共同待决的美国申请号11/880,087中予以非常详细地教导的,该美国申请号11/880,087通过引用将其全部内容结合于此。这样的光谱混合技术的使用将在使用最小可见照明水平时,使得能够实现捕获具有高对比度的条形码标签的图像。
虽然CMOS图像检测阵列技术被描述为用在本实用新型的优选实施例中,但是应理解的是,在替换实施例中,可以使用CCD型图像检测阵列技术以及其它种类的图像检测技术。
虽然已经与涉及1-D和2-D条形码结构的各种类型的条形码符号读取应用结合地描述了本实用新型的说明性实施例,但是应理解的是本实用新型能够被用来读取(即识别)任何机器可读的标记、数据表单、或者图形编码的智能形式,包括但不限于条形码符号结构、字母数字字符识别字符串、笔迹、和本领域中当前已知或未来要开发的多种多样的数据表单。在下文中,术语“码符号”应被认为是包括所有这样的信息携带结构和其它图形编码的智能形式。 应当理解,说明性实施例的基于数字成像的条形码符号读取系统可以以多种方式来修改,这些修改对于受益于本文所公开的新颖性教导的本领域技术人员而言,将变得容易显而易见的。对其说明性实施例的所有这样的修改和变化都应当被认为处于附于此的权利要求书的范围之内。
Claims (4)
1.一种基于数字成像的码符号读取系统,其特征在于,包括:
具有光传输孔的可手持壳体;
设置在所述可手持壳体中的图像形成和检测子系统,其具有图像形成光学器件,所述图像形成光学器件用来产生视场FOV并且将该视场投射通过所述光传输孔且到区域型图像检测阵列上,所述区域型图像检测阵列用于在对象照明和成像操作期间检测所述FOV内对象的一个或多个2D数字图像;
设置在所述可手持壳体中的照明子系统,其包括照明阵列,所述照明阵列用于在所述FOV内产生宽区域照明场,并且对在所述FOV中检测到的所述对象进行照明,使得所述照明反射离开所述对象并且向回传输通过所述光传输孔且到所述图像检测阵列上以形成所述对象的所述2D数字图像;
基于加速计的运动检测子系统,其被设置在所述可手持壳体中,用来测量所述壳体在被支持在所述用户的手中时的加速度,并且将所述加速度测量结果与存储在所述可手持壳体上的存储器中的预设加速度阈限进行比较;
图像捕获和缓冲子系统,其被设置在所述可手持壳体中,用来捕获和缓冲由所述图像形成和检测子系统检测到的2D数字图像;
输入/输出子系统,其被设置在所述可手持壳体中,用来把经处理的图像数据输出到外部主机系统或其它信息接收或响应装置;以及
系统控制子系统,其被设置在所述可手持壳体中,用来响应于所述基于加速计的运动检测子系统的结果,在照明和成像操作期间控制和/或协调所述子系统,以便消除或减少由所述图像形成和检测子系统检测到的所述一个或多个数字图像中的运动模糊。
2.根据权利要求1所述的基于数字成像的码符号读取系统,其特征在于,还包括自动对象检测子系统,其被设置在所述可手持壳体中,用来在所述FOV内自动检测对象的存在,或与所述可手持壳体集成的可手动激励触发开关,用来响应于所述系统的用户激励可手动激励触发开关,而发起对所述FOV中的所述对象的一个或多个2D数字图像的检测。
3.根据权利要求1所述的基于数字成像的码符号读取系统,其特征在于,所述照明子系统包括LED阵列。
4.根据权利要求1所述的基于数字成像的码符号读取系统,其特征在于,所述基于加速计的运动检测子系统包括安装在所述可手持壳体中的加速度传感器芯片。
