应当理解,在逻辑节点201、211和216中的查询是示例性的,并不意图穷举可进行的查询类型,也不意图穷举这一系列逻辑节点的顺序/结构。或者,逻辑节点201、211、216当中可以有多重检查和互相依赖。例如,可以查询活动是否在特定位置(如浴室或厨房)中开始以及是否在预定时间周期内停止。一个可能的查询可以是是否检测到水填满浴缸,以及水打开的时间长度。另一个可能的查询可以是炉子是否被使用,以及它使用了多久。应当理解,在生成时间报告之前等待的时间周期可以根据收集关于活动数据的活动传感器14的位置来适配。例如,可以将厨房中的传感器设置成在生成报告前较长的等待时间周期,例如12个小时。
护理者38特别关心的一点是住户的移动能力的长期变化。运动速度是很好的健康变化的预测器。常常,活动的长期变化难以通过连续观察来量化或者证实。如下面参照图4所述,可以通过系统10来量化住所12的住户的长 期移动能力。
在步骤100中,提供活动传感器14并将其布置在住所12中。在步骤105中使用传感器14收集数据。在步骤110中将所收集的数据发送到远程监视中心22上的数据库24。然后,在步骤315中,通过搜索机制25(图1)在数据库24存储的数据中搜索活动模式。比较有用的模式是那些一周发生几次的模式,例如从传感器14收集的指示在进餐时间厨房中的活动、或者在就寝时间或接近就寝时间卧室中的活动的数据。使用模式匹配算法来找到多数日子里出现的共同模式。
然后,在步骤320中,推断和研究每种活动的完成时间。可以通过任何数量的已知计算方法来完成研究。例如,可以在预定时间周期上(如两个月)映射结束活动的最长时间周期,来显示时间随着住户执行该活动所花的时间周期的变化。或者,可以在预定时间周期上映射结束活动所需的所有时间周期。可以扔掉离群数据(outlier data)、边界上的数据(例如,表示最长和最短时间周期的25%的数据),并且使用其余数据来显示时间随着住户执行该活动所花的时间周期的变化。
最后,在步骤325中,护理者38接收关于住户完成特定推断和研究的活动所花时间的长期变化。在较早的时限向护理者38提供指示住所12的住户移动能力的可量化的变化,可以使得更多地了解状况的变化。例如,移动能力的变化可以源自药物治疗的变化,或者可以源自住户情绪的变化。较早检测到移动能力的变化可以使得较早诊断移动能力变化背后的起因,从而可以使得较早治疗引起移动能力变化的状况。应当理解,可以并发地研究住所12中的多个模式,从而确保研究的健壮性。例如,如果长期变化看起来指示完成一个任务的时间量增加而另一任务所需的时间量减少,那么可能有除了移动能力之外的因素在起作用。另一方面,如果数据看起来指示完成许多任务的时间都在长期地增加,那么看来确定住户的移动能力减弱了。
和移动能力的变化一样,睡眠模式的变化可以显示医学问题。例如,睡眠模式的变化可以是抑郁的指示,或者它可以指示需要改变药物或者最近药物的改变在影响住户的睡眠模式。图5示出对住所12的住户的睡眠模式进行记录以确定任何特定睡眠模式是正常还是异常的示例性方法。图6示出利用隐式马尔可夫建模技术分析睡眠模式的一个示例性实施例。
如图5所示,该方法在步骤400中以训练周期开始。步骤400的训练周 期用于获得关于住所12的住户的基准睡眠模式数据。训练周期的长度应当足够提供住户的所有睡眠模式的基准睡眠图案数据。通过睡眠量、睡眠位置、以及任何睡眠中断的频率和持续时间来确定睡眠模式。这些因素以及星期几(例如,周末对平日)常常对每个住户产生多个睡眠模式。训练周期的长度可以短到几天,或者长到一个月或更长。
一旦获得了基准睡眠模式数据,在步骤405中收集关于住所12中的住户的数据以便于监视住户的睡眠模式。最后,在步骤410中,分析睡眠模式数据来确定这些数据是否证实住户最近的睡眠模式相对于基准睡眠模式数据正常或不正常的结论。如果数据证实最近睡眠模式不正常的结论,则可以生成报告并且通过上述通信媒介发送给护理者38。或者,可以执行另外的分析步骤来确定最近睡眠模式的不正常是否不正常到足以向护理者38发出报告。可以根据预定的规则集、来自护理者的反馈(可以帮助重新训练住所)或者这两者的组合,来确定是否认为睡眠模式十分不正常。
一种用于分析睡眠模式数据的示例性方法是通过隐式马尔可夫建模技术,这将参照图6进行描述。马尔可夫模型特性是给定当前状态,要发生的下一状态独立于所有之前状态。这导致这样的干扰,即,特定状态之间的转换是概率的(probabilistic),从而可以被建模。隐式马尔可夫建模技术是用于建模符号序列的技术。它是将模式序列建模为随机过程的输出的概率模式匹配方法。
如图6所示,存在四种与住户的睡眠模式有关的可能的状态,即,卧室415、睡眠中420、中断的睡眠425和醒来430。记录下状态415、420、425、430之间的转换,并且识别这些状态转换并且将其与在步骤400中获得的基准睡眠模式数据进行比较。睡眠中状态420是在预期睡眠的时间周期期间的安静周期。术语“安静”是在住所12中超过15分钟没有发生活动的周期。推断为睡眠中状态420之前的位置被标记为卧室状态415。在睡眠中状态420之后发生的任何活动被标记为中断状态425或醒来状态430。中断和醒来状态425、430之间的差别在于醒来状态是持续超过30分钟的中断状态。
参照图5、6,在步骤400中在训练时间周期内从活动传感器14取出数据,以建立基准睡眠模式数据的数据库。睡眠模式数据可以自动分成类似的睡眠模式。在获得了足够的基准睡眠模式数据之后,将各个睡眠模式标识为对住户是正常的。然后,在步骤405中,监视住户的睡眠模式。在步骤410 中利用隐式马尔可夫建模技术来分析睡眠模式。状态之间的转换以10分钟的时间片435进行。该方法考虑多个转换时间片。因此,如果住户的睡眠中状态420持续4个小时,则从睡眠中状态到睡眠中状态的转换的计数将是24。对于该住户,使用基准睡眠模式数据来预测用户最近的睡眠模式是属于之前标识的睡眠模式(因而是正常的),还是不属于任何之前标识的睡眠模式(因而是不正常的)。如果住户的睡眠模式被确定为不正常,则产生报告来标识该住户睡眠模式的反常。
住所12的住户可能有问题的另一个指示是在住户正常的时间没有醒来。护理者38常常担心住户可能在床上病倒或丧失能力,无法联系任何人寻求帮助,并且在任何人认识到这个问题之前在相当长的时间内仍没有能力。如图6所示,可以使用系统10来建模醒来习惯,并且当任何醒来时间在可接受的极限之外时报告给护理者38。
在步骤100中,提供传感器14并将其布置在住所12中。在步骤450中,在一段时间内记录住户的就寝时间和醒来时间。通过推断在一段时间上的就寝时间和醒来时间,可以编辑关于住户的睡眠周期正常长度的更精确的数据。该数据用于确定睡眠模式。一种方法是利用上面参照图5所述的隐式马尔可夫建模技术。另一种方法是寻找住所12中安静的长周期,如6到8小时。或者,可以搜索数据来确定在一段时间(如最近60天)内最迟的醒来时间,如果醒来时间超过了该时间一定量(例如1小时),则可以产生报告。
当住户在正常时间醒来(意味着在基于分析的历史睡眠模式数据的预定极限之内)时,在步骤455中,生成更新的状态报告并且近实时地将其发送给护理者38,报告正常醒来时间。另一方面,如果在预定极限结束前没有识别到醒来,则可以在步骤460中联系护理者38。可以使用任何适合的方法来联系护理者,例如,有线或无线电话、寻呼机、双向步话机、传真、电报、电子邮件或其他因特网支持的通信媒介(例如通过弹出的通知格式)。

Claims (1)
1.一种允许护理者监视独自居住在住所中的住户的睡眠模式的方法,包括步骤:
提供活动传感器来布置在住所中;
从活动传感器收集数据;
通过通信平台,将从活动传感器收集的数据发送到数据库;
所述来自活动传感器的数据包括关于住户是否处于正在卧室中、在睡眠、在间歇睡眠或清醒状态的睡眠模式数据以及关于在各状态之间转换的数据;
使用隐式马尔可夫建模技术分析从活动传感器收集的睡眠模式数据,来确定该睡眠模式数据是否指示偏离基准睡眠模式数据并显示不正常的睡眠模式,在训练周期内从活动传感器取出基准睡眠模式数据;以及
如果该睡眠模式数据指示偏离基准睡眠模式数据,则生成给护理者的报告。
