技术领域
本发明涉及一种存储容器,并且尤其是涉及一种用于存储易燃燃料的容器。
背景技术
用于易燃燃料的多种存储容器为人们所熟知。
燃料通常以压缩气体或者以液化的形式储存在压力汽缸中。传统的汽缸通常包括单一的存储腔室,并且被构造成能够防止较轻的碰撞造成的刺穿,但是一般情况下并没有被设计成能够承受重创。
当燃料处于液态形式时,该存储容器可以具有一系列的隔板,用于防止移动过程中该液体的运动导致容器失去平衡。然而,这样的隔板通常不能提高该容器承受重创的能力。
当存储容器被刺穿时,单一的存储腔室设计无法对燃料的泄露施加任何控制措施,通常导致压缩燃料从容器中爆发性地泄露。
在存在火焰或火花的情况下,大量燃料的突然泄露可能引发高速的火球。或者,有可能火焰回燃进容器,引爆余下的燃料内容物和容器,产生飞出弹片的严重危险。
向着利用碳氢化合物之外的替代燃料的进展同样已经增加了对于汽车、卡车以及公共汽车(以下称为汽车)上的用于高易燃性燃料的固有安全存储容器的需求。
一些容器被设计成用于存储比如氢等燃料。到此为止,这些容器中的很多容器已经以将氢化学吸收进基体的合金的应用为基础。在某些控制条件下,这些合金释放适合于作为燃料的氢。然而,这些合金需要一套控制条件用于吸收燃料以及另一套控制条件用于释放燃料。照此,这些装置的复杂性使得它们较昂贵,并且不适合在比如汽车等较小的存储情况下使用。
此外,在汽车遭受碰撞的情况下,存储容器有可能受到剧烈的冲击。必要的是使容器内容物的任何喷射以可控的方式泄露,用以防止爆炸。
作为公认的事实,术语“包括”(‘comprise’)在不同的司法权下,具有既可以表示排他的意思也可以表示包含的意思的属性。作为用于本说明书中的目的,除非另外指明,术语“包括”(‘comprise’)应该具有包含的意思,也就是,该术语不仅意味着包含该术语直接提及列出的部件,而且包含其它未专门说明的部件或元件。当术语“包括”(‘comprised’or‘comprising’)在方法或过程中涉及一个或多个步骤而被使用时,所述解释将同样适用。
发明内容
本发明旨在解决前述的问题或者至少提供给公众一种有用的选择。
本发明的进一步的方面和优点将从仅仅由例子给出的随后的说明中变得明朗。
根据本发明的一个方面,提供一种用于存储流体物质的存储容器,所述存储容器包括多个单独的存储腔室,所述存储腔室被装配以能够承受大于大气压的压力,相邻的存储腔室之间形成至少一个流体通道,其特征在于:至少一个所述存储腔室包括被构造成与所述容器的其余部分相比相对较脆弱的外围密封部,其中,所述流体物质能够从一个存储腔室移动到另一个存储腔室,并且所述存储腔室的构造形成限制流体物质通过存储容器的流速的迂回的通路。
因此,在损伤性冲击的情况下,所述密封部比所述容器的任何其它部分更有可能失效或者破裂,使压力流体进入到所述失效的密封部。
优选地,存储腔室大体上为板状,由一对间隔开的、大体上相连的、外围与所述外围密封部接合的平板构成。
优选地,所述平板包括第一板以及与第一板的相对表面平行的第二板,其中,第一板和第二板通过多个表面特征之间的相互接触而间隔开,所述表面特征在第一板和第二板之间从第一板和第二板的相对板表面中的至少一个相对板表面延伸。
优选地,通过相邻的存储腔室之间的至少一个流体通道或多个所述表面特征形成穿过存储容器的迂回的流体通路。
在本发明的优选实施例中,流体物质可以是任何选自易燃液体或气体物质的易燃燃料,优选地为氢。然而,这不应该看作是一种限制,因为可以预期的是,存储装置能够用于其它易燃材料,包括碳氢化合物,比如压缩的天然气或液化石油气。
同样可以预期,本发明的存储容器能够用于存储其它物质,比如有毒化学物质,在密封破裂的情况下,液体流出的可控速率允许附近的任何人员有足够的时间撤离。
当容器被用于存储汽车中的氢时,可以预期的是,在填充和存储时可能需要低温条件和/或高压条件。
可以进一步预期的是,其它物质将会具有不同的存储要求并且该存储容器能够被相应地构造。
为了整个说明书中引用上的方便,以下将物质称作燃料,尽管这应该被理解为仅仅是为了举例,而不是为了进行限制。
优选地,每个存储腔室的板壁由耐腐蚀、节省重量的材料,和/或为了构造的方便通过比如不锈钢、钛或铜镍合金形成。这些材料的进一步的例子包括其它金属合金、碳素纤维和/或金属/碳素纤维合成物。
每个存储腔室的尺寸(以及由此的整个容器)将取决于燃料的特性、需要存储的燃料的体积以及车中的可用空间。
在本发明的一个优选实施例中,存储容器包括单独存储腔室,所述存储腔室通过将多个板组装在一起并利用至少一个流体通道将各单独的存储腔室连接在一起以形成整体容器而形成。
优选地,至少第一单独存储腔室与第二单独存储腔室相邻,在第一和第二相邻的存储腔室之间的至少一个流体通道允许流体物质在第一和第二相邻的存储腔室之间通过或允许第一和第二相邻的存储腔室之间通风。
在本发明的优选的实施例中,在第一和第二相邻存储腔室之间的至少一个流体通道相对于第二和第三相邻存储腔室之间的至少一个流体通道偏移。优选地,相邻的存储腔室包括至少两个流体通道,以允许既定(settled)的液体流过第一流体通道和气体或蒸汽流过第二流体通道的运动同时进行。
通过这种方式,燃料流路和/或通风流路可以根据有效操作的需要被导向(考虑安装进汽车中时存储容器的最终定向)。
在这些实施例中,需要燃料遵循容器的存储腔室之间的迂回路径,因而限定并且控制燃料通过容器的流动。
在其它的实施例中,燃料通过存储腔室的流动可以通过多个开口发生,其中燃料的通道由一个板中的开口相对于相邻的板中的开口的直径和位置中的一个和/或两个限定。在所有条件下,可以预见的是,板中的开口位置是这样的,即用于保证燃料通过存储腔室迂回地流动,因此限制燃料的流动速度。
优选地,在第一板和第二板之间从相对的板表面中的至少一个板表面延伸的所述多个表面特征为波纹。
在优选的实施例中,从第一板和第二板的相对的板表面中的第一相对板表面延伸的波纹与从第一板和第二板的相对的板表面中的第二相对板表面延伸的波纹以相反的方向成角,以在相邻的表面特征之间形成多个接触点。
尽管各种其它形式的波纹能够同样有效,在优选的实施例中,波纹被布置成V形或人字形图案。
板之间的这些接触点也有助于进一步地产生迂回路径,提供对于燃料能够通过存储容器移动的速度的进一步的控制。
构造波纹以提供多个接触点不仅为单独的板也为存储容器提供了刚度。这不仅使容器能够承受存储物的压力,也形成了使燃料流经容器的迂回路径,并且在板组合在一起成为存储容器时确保板不会被压碎。
根据本发明的另一方面,提供了一种组装用于存储流体物质的存储容器的方法,所述存储容器包括多个单独的存储腔室,所述存储腔室被组装以能够承受大于大气压的压力,相邻的存储腔室之间形成至少一个流体通道,其中,所述流体物质能够从一个存储腔室移动到另一个存储腔室,并且所述存储腔室的构造形成限制流体物质通过存储容器的流速的迂回的通路;其中,至少一个所述存储腔室包括被构造成与所述容器的其余部分相比相对较脆弱的外围密封部,其特征在于步骤:
i)将多个板以多个表面特征之间相互接触的方式邻接在一起,所述表面特征从至少第一和第二相邻的板之间的至少一个相对板表面延伸,
ii)将多个板组装在一起以形成板组,相邻的板之间形成至少一个流体通道,以及
iii)用密封部密封板组中的至少第一和第二相邻的板的外围,以形成通过所述至少一个流体通道互连的多个密封的邻接存储腔室。
在优选的实施例中,所述板可以通过使用紧固件在两个端部板之间被夹紧在一起而被组装,以形成板组。然而可以理解的是,可以使用不同的结构,因此这不应该被视为一种限制。
使用多个板意味着存储容器的每个存储腔室实际上作为单独的压力容器。
为了防止存储容器的压力泄露,存储腔室优选地通过诸如弹性材料垫圈之类的外围密封部进行密封,或如果需要,通过比如惰性压缩粘合(cemented)纤维之类的化学惰性材料进行密封。
作为选择,在各个相邻的板之间的密封部可以通过焊接在一起而形成(如果板为金属),或者作为选择,用合适的粘合剂或粘结剂密封以形成板组。在进一步的实施例中,密封部可以通过熔合相邻板的外围来实现。
再一次,优选地选择与存储燃料的特性相兼容的构造方法和密封技术。
例如,在低温条件下填充和存储所述容器将需要不同于存储其它物质所需的构造方法和材料。
优选地,板组能够被组装成整体单元,在被夹紧在刚性端部板之间前完成连接,所述连接包括入口和出口阀、通风孔(vent)和排放孔(drain)。
可以使用多个紧固件,用以紧固所述组,以确保整个组件被压紧(pressure tight)。
大量紧密堆叠在一起的板提高了存储容器的抗刺穿能力。
本发明因而提供了一种存储容器,该存储容器适用于在高压条件下以本质上固有的安全方式存储易燃燃料,可通过四个主要特征提高安全性:具有单独的外围密封部的多存储腔室设计、迂回燃料通道、刚性以及抗刺穿能力。
在载有这样一种存储容器的汽车发生碰撞并且该存储容器遭受剧烈冲击的情况下,该容器的设计使得容器的内容物以可控的方式泄露。
在运输比如氢这样的易燃材料并且围绕每对板(或有效围绕每个存储腔室)的一个或多个外围密封部开裂或以其它的方式被破坏的情况下,存储腔室的内容物将逃逸到大气中。
由于该存储容器的构造提供了高度抗刺穿的能力,因此很有可能容器的任何破裂将通过外围密封部的裂口发生。
由于每个存储腔室仅容纳有限数量的燃料,余下的燃料被迫通过存储腔室之间的迂回路径通过任何密封失败处逸出,因而对燃料从容器的逸出进行控制。
当在冲击下的任何失效可能是通过外围密封部破裂的方式而不是通过板组被撕开口子的方式时,产品向大气中的受控制的泄露可能以高速和相对低的流量通过裂缝。
结果是燃料的可控的泄露,当在大气中通过引燃带来威胁时不会导致燃料混乱的不受控制的泄露,结果减小了从裂开的容器向外爆出火球的危险。
由于存储燃料的极大的气压,来自外围裂缝的燃料泄露具有高的速度。泄露的高速度大体上防止了燃料在容器的表面燃烧,减小了燃料回燃进容器并且导致爆炸性泄露的风险,该爆炸性泄露将会导致容器的灾难性的破坏并且造成对在场者的危害。
由于容器典型地容纳高压燃料,从任何裂缝通过失效的密封部逃逸的速度将会超过甚至高度易燃燃料的点火速度。
如果逸出速度超过点火速度,逃逸的燃料被防止在容器的表面进行燃烧。
由于板的波纹设计以及多个存储腔室的相对窄的间隔,通过裂开的密封部或者甚至是多个裂开的密封部逃逸的燃料不得不穿过迂回路径,伴随着穿过若干存储腔室中的一个或多个存储腔室的高压损失。
而传统的单个存储腔室的压力容器能够被汽车事故刺穿,本设计的性质和多个存储腔室意味着这样的刺穿是不可能的。
在传统的单个存储腔室的存储容器被刺穿的情况下,不可能控制产品的泄露,这样,逃逸速度的增加能够容易地使构造材料承受过压,从而导致突然的灾难性的破坏。附近的火焰或火花的存在会引燃燃料,并且形成高速的火球,对附近的人们形成严重的危险。
在火焰回燃进容器的情况下,爆炸和火球同样能够携带破碎的容器的碎片(弹片),对周围的人们形成更大的威胁。
本发明提供一种多存储腔室设计,每个存储腔室的壁具有在组装后具有大量接触点的多个表面特征(比如波纹)。这种构造赋予容器高的刚性,防止了被冲击时在容器中刺出孔,仅允许外围密封部发生开裂。这样,一旦破裂,泄露进环境中的燃料的流动速率得到限制。
可以理解的是,多个表面特征不必是波纹,而是可以包括任何规则或不规则的图案或构造,该多个表面特征在相邻的相对板表面之间提供了曲折的或迂回的流体通路。
可以预期的是,燃料从本发明的存储容器中受控制地泄露,即使以高的速度,也将使由冲击带来的爆炸的风险最小化。应该承认仍然存在泄露的燃料加到环境中的其它的燃料成分中并且有助于维持燃烧的风险。
然而,来自存储容器中的泄露不会引起爆炸,也不会产生高速移动的火球。再者,由于本发明极不容易碎裂,对于在场者来说,来自爆炸弹片的危险极小。
除了包括大致如在此所描述的所述存储容器的汽车以外,本发明也包括用于填充存储容器的方法。

具体实施方式
参照附图,提供了一种用于存储包括液态或气态燃料的流体物质的多腔室存储容器1。
该容器1包括在两个端部板3a、3b之间被组装、密封和夹紧在一起的多个中间板2。
每个板2均具有至少一个燃料开口4以及通风开口5。燃料开口4被构造以允许燃料通过容器1流动。开口5优选地位于顶部,用于在填充容器1的过程中清除任何残余的蒸汽或燃料。
该容器还包括第一板2a和最后的板2b。这些板2a、2b的构造不同于其它的板2,以便于容器1与汽车的燃料管路的连接,以允许容器的填充、清空以及通风。
板2优选地具有波纹设计,该设计可以为V形或者人字形图案6,该V形或者人字形图案6提供了本发明的板间隔的确定、大体上迂回的燃料流动通道和/或增强的刚性等期望特征。
图示的图案为“V”形或者波纹形或者人字形设计。该图案提供能够在板之间提供大量接触点的许多可能的构造中的一种构造。同样也可以使用其它波纹状的或者其它规则的非波纹状和/或不规则的图案构造。
在使用中,波纹状图案的方向优选地在板2的板与板之间交替变化,以提供多个接触点,该多个接触点构成获得刚性的原因的一部分。
多个隔板优选地在两个端部板3a和3b之间被密封和夹紧在一起并且用多个紧固螺栓紧固。进口、出口排放孔以及通风孔可以安装有阀,并且容器可以以任何优选的角度安装。
端部板3a、3b通过外侧的交叉腹板(webbing)被加强,以在减轻重量的同时,提高它们的压力保持能力。
容器1还包括多个穿过两个端部板3a和3b的入口和出口管道7。管道7具有内部凸缘8,该内部凸缘8可以使用衬垫通过焊接或者密封焊或者钎焊相对于第一和最后的板2a和2b被密封。
在示出的实施例中,每个板2在沿着板2的外围的每一侧上形成有凹槽9。在若干方法中的一种方法中,相邻的板2通过与凹槽9结合使用的密封部10绕着它们的外围边缘被单独地密封。该密封部10可以包括置于相邻的板2之间的凹槽9中的密封垫、粘接剂、粘合剂、钎焊剂、熔合和/或焊接材料。在图1-2示出的实施例中,波纹6自距离板2的外围边缘较短的距离处终止。这有利于通过提供安放密封部10的直线外围凹槽9来密封板2。因此,尤其是在密封部10包含钎焊剂或类似物的情况下,可以得到更为均匀的密封效果。在作为选择的实施例(未示出)中,凹槽9可以被省略,或者板2的外围边缘可以具有不同的构造,例如,波纹6延伸到板2的边缘。有赖于密封部10的选择,可能需要组装后的板组的一些后续的处理(比如热处理),并且这种处理根据涉及的材料的特性可以在特定的条件(例如在压力下或惰性气氛下)下实施。

Claims (34)
1.一种用于存储流体物质的存储容器,所述存储容器包括多个单独的存储腔室,所述存储腔室被装配以能够承受大于大气压的压力,相邻的存储腔室之间形成至少一个流体通道,其特征在于:
至少一个所述存储腔室包括被构造成与所述容器的其余部分相比相对较脆弱的外围密封部,
其中,所述流体物质能够从一个所述存储腔室移动到另一个所述存储腔室,并且所述存储腔室的构造形成限制流体物质通过存储容器的流速的迂回的通路。
2.如权利要求1所述的存储容器,其中存储腔室由一对间隔开的、大体上相连的、外围通过所述外围密封部接合的平板构成。

10.如权利要求7所述的存储容器,其中所述流体物质为压缩的碳氢化合物气体。
11.如权利要求7所述的存储容器,其中所述流体物质为液化碳氢化合物气体。
12.如权利要求1所述的存储容器,其中所述存储腔室通过将多个板组装在一起并利用至少一个流体通道将各单独的存储腔室连接在一起以形成整体容器而形成。
13.如权利要求1所述的存储容器,其中至少第一单独存储腔室与第二单独存储腔室相邻,在第一和第二相邻的存储腔室之间的至少一个流体通道允许流体物质在第一和第二相邻的存储腔室之间通过或允许第一和第二相邻的存储腔室之间通风。
14.如权利要求13所述的存储容器,其中在第一和第二相邻存储腔室之间的至少一个流体通道相对于第二和第三相邻存储腔室之间的至少一个流体通道偏移。
15.如权利要求14所述的存储容器,其中相邻的存储腔室包括至少两个流体通道,以允许既定的液体通过第一流体通道和气体或蒸汽通过第二流体通道的运动同时进行。
16.如权利要求3所述的存储容器,其中所述多个表面特征为波纹。
17.如权利要求16所述的存储容器,其中从第一板和第二板的相对板表面中的第一相对板表面延伸的波纹与从第一板和第二板的相对板表面中的第二相对板表面延伸的波纹以相反的方向成角,以在相邻的表面特征之间形成多个接触点。
18.如权利要求16或17所述的存储容器,其中波纹被布置成V形或者人字形图案。
19.一种包括如权利要求1、4或5所述的存储容器的汽车。
20.一种组装用于存储流体物质的存储容器的方法,所述存储容器包括多个单独的存储腔室,所述存储腔室被组装以能够承受大于大气压的压力,相邻的所述存储腔室之间形成至少一个流体通道,其中,所述流体物质能够从一个所述存储腔室移动到另一个所述存储腔室,并且所述存储腔室的构造形成限制流体物质通过存储容器的流速的迂回的通路;其中,至少一个所述存储腔室包括被构造成与所述容器的其余部分相比相对较脆弱的外围密封部,
其特征在于步骤:
i)将多个板以多个表面特征之间相互接触的方式邻接在一起,所述表面特征从至少第一和第二相邻的板之间的至少一个相对板表面延伸,
ii)将多个板组装在一起以形成板组,相邻的板之间形成至少一个流体通道,以及
iii)用所述外围密封部密封板组中的至少第一和第二相邻的板的外围,以形成通过所述至少一个流体通道互连的多个密封的邻接存储腔室。
21.如权利要求20所述的方法,其中存储腔室由一对间隔开的、大体上相连的板构成。
22.如权利要求21所述的方法,其中成对的所述板通过多个表面特征之间的相互接触而间隔开。
23.如权利要求20所述的方法,其中通过第一和第二相邻的存储腔室之间的所述至少一个流体通道或所述多个所述表面特征形成穿过存储容器的迂回的流体通路。
24.如权利要求20所述的方法,其中所述存储腔室通过将所述多个板组装在一起并利用至少一个流体通道将各单独的存储腔室连接在一起以形成整体容器而形成。
25.如权利要求20所述的方法,其中至少第一单独存储腔室与第二单独存储腔室相邻,在第一和第二相邻的单独存储腔室之间的至少一个流体通道允许流体物质在第一和第二相邻的存储腔室之间通过或允许第一和第二相邻的存储腔室之间通风。
26.如权利要求25所述的方法,其中在第一和第二相邻存储腔室之间的至少一个流体通道相对于第二和第三相邻存储腔室之间的至少一个流体通道偏移。
27.如权利要求26所述的方法,其中相邻的存储腔室包括至少两个流体通道,以允许既定的液体通过第一流体通道和气体或蒸汽通过第二流体通道的运动同时进行。
28.如权利要求22所述的方法,其中所述表面特征为波纹。
29.如权利要求28所述的方法,其中从第一和第二相邻的板之间的相对板表面中的第一相对板表面延伸的波纹与从第一和第二相邻的板之间的相对板表面中的第二相对板表面延伸的波纹以相反的方向成角,以在多个表面特征之间形成多个接触点。
30.如权利要求20所述的方法,其中所述板通过夹紧在两个端部板之间被组装在一起。
31.如权利要求20所述的方法,其中每个存储腔室通过外围密封部进行密封,所述外围密封部包括弹性材料垫圈、或者化学惰性材料作为粘合的、熔合的、焊接的密封部。
32.如权利要求20所述的方法,其中板组被组装成整体单元,并在被夹紧在刚性的端部板之间前完成连接,其中所述连接包括入口和出口阀、通风孔和排放孔。
33.如权利要求22所述的方法,其中表面特征选自规则的波纹、不规则的波纹、包括锯齿的突起部或突出部和正弦状突起。
34.如权利要求33所述的方法,其中表面特征自距离板的外围边缘一定距离处终止。
