如果用户期望向所创建的任务项分配特定的任务类别,则用户可选择类别控件之一,例如,“Smith Project(Smith项目)”控件340、“London Trip(伦敦旅游)”控件345或“IT Upgrade(IT升级)”类别。上下文菜单265的底部以与相关联的颜色控件340、345一起使用的频率的顺序示出了前五个最常使用的类别名。另外,用户可向选中的项分配多个类别。例如,上下文菜单265中示出的类别“Carson project(Carson项目)”与多个类别相关联,因此,在应用“Carson project”类别时应用于该快速标志框的颜色由与分配给相关联的数据项和新任务项的多个类别相关联的多个颜色组成。应当理解,上下文菜单265中所示的示例任务类别仅用于示例的目的,并非限制可由系统定义或可由个别用户定义的许多不同的任务类别。为审阅附加的任务类别,可选择“All Categories(所有类别)”控件350,以促使显示一飞出菜单,它示出了可应用于给定任务项的所有附加任务类别。
可应用于任务项的附加属性包括“Show Reminder(显示提醒)”属性335和“Flag Complete(标记完成)”属性。另外,如上所述,在上下文菜单265中提供了“Set Defaults(设置默认)”控件360,以设置将在选择与给定数据项相关联的快速标志框之后自动应用于任务项的某些默认属性。例如,可设置默认任务类别,它然后在最初选择了快速标志框用于任务项的创建之后被自动应用。然而,用户总是可以通过从上下文菜单265中选择期望的任务类别而将默认任务类别改为不同的任务类别。类似地,可对所有创建的任务项选择默认的开始日期或到期日属性,但是可在需要时进行修改。也可在数据项上设置“Clear Flag(清除标志)”属性,以清除数据项上先前设置的任务属性,使得数据项不再被识别为任务项。
对于用单个用户行动(例如,鼠标点击)向所选择的数据项和对应的任务项应用两个属性,可提供一径向上下文菜单,以允许用户通过选择该径向上下文菜单中的给定位置,来同时选择期望的开始日期或到期日以及任务类别。对于依照本发明的实施例使用的径向上下文菜单的详细描述,见美国专利申请委托/代理号60001.0418US01,申请人文件号309465.01,名为“Two dimensional Radial UserInterface For Computer Software Applications(计算机软件应用程序的二维径向用户界面)”,该申请通过引用结合于此,如同它在此完整地陈述一样。
除上述以外,属性也可通过选择与用户使用的软件应用程序用户界面相关联的顶层行动菜单被应用于所选择的数据项和对应的新任务项。例如,图2所示的用户界面200是与电子邮件应用程序130相关联的用户界面。依照本发明的实施例,在选择了给定数据项用于将数据项标记为新任务之后,用户可选择顶层行动控件以展开如图4所示的行动菜单400。用户然后可展开一个或多个飞出菜单410,以向所选择的新任务项应用特定的属性。例如,选择“Follow-up(跟踪)”控件405促使展开飞出菜单410,用户可用该菜单向所选择的项应用开始日期属性。例如,可向所选择的数据项应用“Today”的开始日期属性以及对应的三面旗帜图标310,以应用于对应的新任务项。可选择诸如“Show Reminder(显示提醒)”控件335等附加控件,以向所选择的项应用其它属性。如上文对于上下文菜单265所描述的,提供了“Set Defaults”控件360,用于对任何选中的项设置某些默认属性。依照一个实施例,包含在行动菜单400的飞出菜单410中的属性包括在上文示出并描述的上下文菜单265中可用的属性的子集。为向所选择的数据项应用任务类别,可选择“Categories”控件以展开包含类别选择控件的不同的飞出菜单410。如上文对于上下文菜单265所描述的,从飞出菜单410中选择给定的类别控件促使所选择的类别属性被应用于数据项以及对应的新任务项。
参考图5,示出了邮件检查器应用程序用户界面500。如果包含在邮件检查器应用程序中的电子数据项被标记为用于跟踪,则所标记的数据项自动创建一任务项,如此处所描述的。为将特定属性应用于所标记的数据项,展开下拉菜单410,用户可从中选择一个或多个属性以应用于所标记的数据项和对应的任务项。例如,如图5所示,选择用户界面500的工具栏中的旗帜图标促使展开菜单410,用户可从中选择开始日期属性和其它定时和默认属性,如上文对于图4所描述的。
仍参考图5,通过从用户界面500所示的工具栏中选择类别图标,任务类别可应用于所标记的数据项以及对应的任务项。作为响应,可展开类似于图5所示的菜单410的菜单410,但是它包含一个或多个系统定义或用户定义的任务类别。选择可用任务类别之一促使所选择的任务类别属性被应用于所选择的数据项和对应的新任务项。
依照本发明的一个实施例,通过将数据项拖到包含在图2所示的To-Do栏240中的任务列表或日期选取器控件上,给定数据项也可被标记为新任务项。例如,如果给定数据项从收件箱拖到To-Do栏240中的任务列表的“Today”部分上,则用户行动将促使在任务列表240的“Today”部分中创建新任务项。如果用户期望向该任务列表添加一类别属性,则用户可选择所创建的任务项并展开上下文菜单265,以应用所期望的类别。另外,电子数据项可被拖到To-Do栏240的顶部的日期选取器控件中的特定日期上,以促使数据项被标记为具有与数据项被拖到其上的日期选取器控件中的日期相关联的开始日期的任务项。再一次,如果用户期望向创建的任务项添加附加属性,用户可启动上下文菜单265,以应用附加属性。
依照本发明的实施例,用户可重新标记先前被标记为任务项的项。如果用户向一个项应用标志,然后再一次标记该项,则所有相关的属性,例如开始日期和任务类别,依照该项的第二次标记被重新设置,除非用户选择了“Specific Date AndTime(特定日期和时间)”选项。如果用户选择了“Specific Date And Time”选项,则重新标记先前标记的项仅依照重新标记该项的日期改变所标记的项的开始日期。
参考图6,如果用户从上下文菜单265中选择“Specific Date And Time”选项,则可显示对话框600。有了对话框600,用户可完成日期字段610,以为任务设置特定的开始日期。默认地,开始日期字段610将显示当前为该项设置的开始日期。如果项没有开始日期,则该字段将显示“No Date(无日期)”。最终期限框620默认地不被复选。如有需要,可通过点击最终期限框并用特定的最终期限日期填充最终期限字段,来为任务设置到期日。另外,也可为给定任务项选择特定的最终期限时间。提醒框630默认地不被复选。提醒控件允许用户设置用户希望向用户作出关于相关联的任务项的提醒的日期和时间。提供了“Clear Flag(清除标志)”按钮,以允许所有先前设置的标志属性如上所述地清除。
如上所述,参考图3,可由用户设置默认任务项开始日期和默认任务项类别,以自动应用于所有选择的数据项。例如,如果用户期望向所有选择的数据项默认地应用“Tomorrow”的开始日期和“Work Project”的类别,则用户可通过从上下文菜单265中选择“Set Defaults”控件360来建立这一默认的设置。响应于选择“SetDefaults”控件,显示图7所示的对话框或菜单700,以允许默认行为的设置被应用于所选择的数据项。如图7所示,可选择默认标志,如“Today”标志710或“Tomorrow”标志720。如果选择了“No Flag(无标志)”控件,则不向相关联的任务项应用开始日期标志,但是仍可选择默认的类别以应用于所选择的数据项和相关联的任务项。在对话框700的底部,可选择默认类别。选择组合框730提供了作为默认类别应用于所选择的项的所有可用类别的清单。
如此处所描述的,多种系统和方法提供了通过选择与个别数据项相关联的快速标志框,自动标记数据项以供识别为任务项。通过依照本发明的实施例向个别数据项应用一个或多个任务属性,用户能够通过“接触”所选择的数据项来创建任务项。由此,用户避免了启动任务项创建用户界面来完成与期望的任务项相关联的信息的潜在的烦琐和耗时的过程。通过使用与所选择的数据项相关联的快速且有效地展开的上下文菜单,用户可将诸如开始时间和任务类别等重要的信息应用于所选择的数据项和对应的任务项。本领域的技术人员可以理解,可以对本发明作出各种修改或变化,而不脱离本发明的精神和范围。当考虑此处所揭示的本发明的说明书和实践时,本领域的技术人员会明白本发明的其它实施例。
Claims (36)
1.一种用于标记数据项以供其它应用程序识别为任务项或类似任务的项的方法,所述方法包括:
将一任务标记控件与所述数据项相关联,其中所述任务标记控件包括显示选择选项的上下文菜单,包括向所述数据项应用定时属性;
接收所述任务标记控件的选择,所述接收所述任务标记控件的选择包括从所述上下文菜单接收所述选择,所述上下文菜单是通过所述数据项相邻的快速标志框访问的;
响应于接收所述任务标记控件的选择,向所述数据项自动应用至少一个属性,使得所述数据项可被其它应用程序识别为任务项或类似任务的项;
向所述数据项自动应用默认开始日期属性、默认任务类别属性,以及到期日属性;以及
自动更新定时属性,其中自动更新定时属性包括以下至少之一:
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第一图标来指示所述定时属性是否在当前日期之前,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第一图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配当前日期,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第二图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配下一日期,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第二图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配当前周内不同于当前日期的另一日期,以及
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第三图标来指示所述定时属性是否晚于当前周。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括将所述任务项储存在任务项列表中。
3.如权利要求2所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括在任务列表用户界面中显示所述任务项列表。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,自动向所述数据项应用至少一个属性使得所述数据项可被识别为任务项,包括向所述数据项应用开始日期属性。
5.如权利要求4所述的方法,其特征在于,向所述数据项应用开始日期属性包括从包含一个或多个开始日期属性的上下文菜单中应用所述开始日期。
6.如权利要求4所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括用用于标识应用于所述任务项的开始日期属性的可视图标来填充所述任务标记控件。
7.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,向所述数据项自动应用至少一个属性使得所述数据项可被识别为任务项,包括向所述数据项应用任务类别属性。
8.如权利要求7所述的方法,其特征在于,向所述数据项应用任务类别属性包括从包含一个或多个任务类别属性的上下文菜单中应用所述任务类别属性。
9.如权利要求7所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括用用于标识应用于所述数据项的任务类别属性的可视标识符填充所述任务标记控件。
10.如权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,用用于标识应用于所述数据项的任务类别属性的可视标识符填充所述任务标记控件包括用与应用于所述任务项的任务类别属性相关联的唯一颜色填充所述任务标记控件。
11.一种用于在应用程序中标记数据项以供其它应用程序识别为任务项或类似任务的项的系统,包括:
将任务标记控件与所述数据项相关联的装置,其中所述任务标记控件包括显示选择选项的上下文菜单,包括向所述数据项应用定时属性,其中应用定时属性包括自动标记所述数据项并完成任务输入表单;
接收所述任务标记控件的选择的装置,所述接收所述任务标记控件的选择包括从所述上下文菜单接收所述选择,所述上下文菜单是通过所述数据项相邻的快速标志框访问的;
响应于接收所述任务标记控件的选择,向所述数据项自动应用至少一个属性使得所述数据项可被其它应用程序识别为任务项或类似任务的项的装置;
向所述数据项自动应用默认开始日期属性、默认任务类别属性,以及到期日属性的装置;以及
自动更新定时属性的装置,其中自动更新定时属性的装置包括以下至少之一:
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第一图标来指示所述定时属性是否在当前日期之前的装置,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第一图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配当前日期的装置,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第二图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配下一日期的装置,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第二图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配当前周内不同于当前日期的另一日期的装置,以及
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第三图标来指示所述定时属性是否晚于当前周的装置。
12.如权利要求11所述的系统,其特征在于,还包括将所述任务项储存在任务项列表中的装置。
13.如权利要求12所述的系统,其特征在于,还包括在任务列表用户界面中显示所述任务项列表的装置。
14.如权利要求11所述的系统,其特征在于,向所述数据项自动应用至少一个属性使得所述数据项可被识别为任务项的装置,包括向所述数据项应用开始日期属性的装置。
15.如权利要求14所述的系统,其特征在于,向所述数据项应用开始日期属性的装置包括从包含一个或多个开始日期属性的上下文菜单中应用所述开始日期属性的装置。
16.如权利要求14所述的系统,其特征在于,还包括用用于标识应用于所创建的任务项的开始日期属性的可视图标填充所述任务标记控件的装置。
17.如权利要求11所述的系统,其特征在于,向所述数据项自动应用至少一个属性使得所述数据项可被识别为任务项的装置,包括向所述数据项应用任务类别属性的装置。
18.如权利要求17所述的系统,其特征在于,向所述数据项应用任务类别属性的装置,包括从包含一个或多个任务类别属性的上下文菜单中应用所述任务类别属性的装置。
19.如权利要求18所述的系统,其特征在于,还包括用用于标识应用于所述数据项的任务类别属性的可视标识符填充所述任务标记控件的装置。
20.如权利要求18所述的系统,其特征在于,用用于标识应用于所创建的任务项的任务类别属性的可视标识符填充所述任务标记控件的装置,包括用与应用于所述数据项的任务类别属性相关联的唯一颜色填充所述任务标记控件的装置。
21.一种用于在应用程序中标记数据项以供其它应用程序识别为任务项或类似任务的项的方法,包括:
将任务标记控件与用户界面中显示的数据项相关联,其中所述任务标记控件包括显示选择选项的上下文菜单,包括向所述数据项应用定时属性;
接收所述任务标记控件的选择,所述接收所述任务标记控件的选择包括从所述上下文菜单接收所述选择,所述上下文菜单是通过所述数据项相邻的快速标志框访问的;
响应于所述任务标记控件的选择,向所述数据项自动应用至少一个属性,使得所述数据项可被其它应用程序识别为任务项或类似任务的项,
向所述数据项自动应用默认开始日期属性、默认任务类别属性,以及到期日属性;
响应于接收所述任务标记控件的第二选择,接收一个或多个任务属性的选择以应用于所述数据项;
向所述任务标记控件应用可视标识符,以指示向所述数据项应用了所述一个或多个任务属性;以及
自动更新定时属性,其中自动更新定时属性包括以下至少之一:
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第一图标来指示所述定时属性是否在当前日期之前,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第一图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配当前日期,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第二图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配下一日期,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第二图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配当前周内不同于当前日期的另一日期,以及
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第三图标来指示所述定时属性是否晚于当前周。
22.如权利要求21所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括将所述任务项储存在任务项列表中。
23.如权利要求22所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括在任务列表用户界面中显示所述任务项列表。
24.如权利要求21所述的方法,其特征在于,接收所述任务标记控件的选择包括接收开始日期属性,以应用于所述数据项。
25.如权利要求24所述的方法,其特征在于,接收开始日期属性以应用于所述数据项包括从包含一个或多个开始日期属性的上下文菜单中接收所述开始日期属性。
26.如权利要求24所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括用用于标识应用于所述数据项的开始日期属性的可视图标填充所述任务标记控件。
27.如权利要求21所述的方法,其特征在于,接收所述任务标记控件的选择包括接收任务类别属性以应用于所述数据项。
28.如权利要求27所述的方法,其特征在于,接收任务类别属性以应用于所述数据项包括从包含一个或多个任务类别属性的上下文菜单中接收所述任务类别属性。
29.一种用于在应用程序中标记数据项以供其它应用程序识别为任务项或类似任务的项的系统,包括:
将任务标记控件与用户界面中显示的数据项相关联的装置,其中所述任务标记控件包括显示选择选项的上下文菜单,包括向所述数据项应用定时属性;
接收所述任务标记控件的选择,所述接收所述任务标记控件的选择包括从所述上下文菜单接收所述选择,所述上下文菜单是通过所述数据项相邻的快速标志框访问的;
响应于接收所述任务标记控件的第一选择,向所述数据项自动应用至少一个属性使得所述数据项可被其它应用程序识别为任务项或类似任务的项的装置;
向所述数据项自动应用默认开始日期属性、默认任务类别属性,以及到期日属性的装置;
响应于接收所述任务标记控件的第二选择,接收一个或多个任务属性的选择以应用于所述数据项的装置;
向所述任务标记控件应用可视标识符,以指示向所述数据项应用了所述一个或多个任务属性的装置;以及
自动更新定时属性的装置,其中自动更新定时属性的装置包括以下至少之一:
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第一图标来指示所述定时属性是否在当前日期之前的装置,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第一图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配当前日期的装置,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第二图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配下一日期的装置,
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第二图标来指示所述定时属性是否匹配当前周内不同于当前日期的另一日期的装置,以及
通过显示所述任务项相邻的第三图标来指示所述定时属性是否晚于当前周的装置。
30.如权利要求29所述的系统,其特征在于,还包括将所述任务项储存在任务项列表中的装置。
31.如权利要求29所述的系统,其特征在于,还包括在任务列表用户界面中显示所述任务项列表的装置。
32.如权利要求29所述的系统,其特征在于,接收所述任务标记控件的第一选择的装置,包括接收开始日期属性以应用于所述数据项的装置。
33.如权利要求32所述的系统,其特征在于,接收开始日期属性以应用于所述数据项的装置,包括从包含一个或多个开始日期属性的上下文菜单中接收所述开始日期属性的装置。
34.如权利要求33所述的系统,其特征在于,还包括用用于标识应用于所述数据项的开始日期属性的可视图标填充所述任务标记控件的装置。
35.如权利要求29所述的系统,其特征在于,接收所述任务标记控件的选择的装置,包括接收任务类别属性以应用于所述数据项的装置。
36.如权利要求35所述的系统,其特征在于,接收任务类别属性以应用于所述数据项的装置,包括从包含一个或多个任务类别属性的上下文菜单中接收所述任务类别属性的装置。
