在进一步的实施例中,配置广播媒体接收器10和/或无线终端20以确定文本数据中是否存在一个或多个关键字或其它标准。在一些实施例中,可以在文本数据中搜索电视节目的名称、人名、电话号码或逻辑网络地址、由用户定义的文本串、程序指令和/或软件代码。当广播媒体接收器10执行搜索的时候,可以响应于在文本数据中找到所搜索的术语或者标准而将文本数据传送给无线终端20。
当无线终端20执行搜索的时候,无线终端可以响应于找到所搜索的术语或标准而发信号通知用户。这种发信号通知包括向用户提供信号音和/或向用户显示可见信号。
在进一步的实施例中,无线终端20可以发送消息以使广播媒体接收器10将文本数据和/或广播信号存储在媒体存储设备250中。无线终端20还可以额外地或者替代地向广播媒体接收器10发送消息以使频道调谐器210改变它提供给控制器200的一个或者多个频道。这样,用户可以使用无线终端20来观看当前和/或即将开始的电视事件的时间表,并命令广播媒体接收器10记录电视事件或者改变电视频道。
当广播媒体接收器10包括服务不止一个用户的中央处理系统时,用户可以通过无线终端20进行通信以命令中央处理系统执行一个或多个对用户帐户唯一的功能。例如,用户可以命令中央处理系统记录电视事件,将选定的频道发送给用户选择的设备和/或定义中央处理系统执行进一步搜索所依据的标准。
依照本发明的一些实施例,广播媒体接收器可以执行图3的框图所示出的操作。在块300处接收到广播媒体信号。在块310处从广播媒体信号中提取文本数据。在一种操作模式下,在块320处进行判定,以在块330处传送提取出的文本数据而不首先检查该文本数据的内容。在另一种操作模式下,在块320处的判定可以是只有在块340-360处分别确定文本数据包含逻辑网络地址、电话号码或关键字时才在块330处传送提取出的文本数据。
在一些实施例中,逻辑网络地址可以包括统一资源定位器(URL)或其它用于在网络上识别设备的地址。可以对一个或多个已由用户定义的关键字在块360处进行关键字比较。在块360处的判定可以包括在提取的文本数据中搜索电视节目的名称、人名、电话号码、逻辑网络地址、定义的文本串、程序指令和/或软件代码。
图4说明依照本发明的实施例的无线终端的操作框图。在块400处可以接收文本数据,并在块410处显示给用户。在一些实施例中,用户可以选择全部或者部分显示的文本以启动进一步的操作。无线终端20可以包括触敏屏、按键和/或操纵杆,以使用户能够选择文本。用户的选择在块420处被感知。当选择的文本是电话号码时,无线终端20可以在块435处拨打和/或存储所选择的电话号码。
可以配置无线终端20以连接到网络。在一些实施例中,无线终端可以包括因特网浏览器。当所选择的文本是逻辑网络地址时,无线终端20可以通过它的因特网浏览器在块445处启动无线网络连接。在一些实施例中,可以通过将逻辑网络地址发送给能够建立网络连接的另一设备来启动网络连接。
用户可以选择显示的文本,或者提供输入(例如通过选择无线终端20上的按键、开关和/或部分显示内容)以使无线终端在块450处传送记录命令或者在块460处传送频道选择命令。响应于记录命令,广播媒体接收器10可以将文本数据和/或广播信号记录在媒体存储设备250上。响应于频道选择命令,广播媒体接收器10可以改变频道调谐器210提供给控制器200的一个或多个频道。
在附图和说明书中,已经公开了本发明的典型实施例,并且尽管使用了专门的术语,但它们仅仅是普通的描述性质,而不是为了限制的目的,在下面的权利要求书中阐明了本发明的范围。例如,当本发明的实施例已经描述为包括一个或多个功能或者一组功能中的至少一个功能时,本领域的技术人员将理解为该实施例可以被配置为仅仅执行功能之一,或者被配置为执行不止一个功能。

Claims (22)

1.一种用来显示广播媒体信号中嵌入的文本数据的方法,该方法包括:
在广播媒体接收器处接收广播媒体信号,该广播媒体信号包括文本数据;
从广播媒体信号中提取文本数据;
利用所述广播媒体接收器之内的比较器电路来确定所述文本数据是否表示电话号码;
响应于所述广播媒体接收器之内的比较器电路确定出所述文本数据表示电话号码,通过无线耦合传输文本数据;
在无线终端处接收文本数据;以及
响应于所述比较器电路确定出文本数据表示电话号码而按照计划将表示电话号码的文本数据存入无线终端中的电话簿中。
2.依照权利要求1的方法,其中广播媒体信号包括电视信号。
3.依照权利要求2的方法,其中:
广播媒体信号包含视频信号,并且
文本数据包括与视频信号关联的闭合字幕文本数据。
4.依照权利要求1的方法,其中广播媒体信号包括音频信号。
5.依照权利要求1的方法,其中文本数据包括逻辑网络地址。
6.依照权利要求1的方法,其中通过无线耦合向无线终端传输文本数据包括依照蓝牙无线协议传输文本数据。
7.依照权利要求1的方法,其中通过无线耦合向无线终端传输文本数据包括依照蜂窝通信协议传输文本数据。
8.依照权利要求1的方法,其中通过无线耦合向无线终端传输文本数据包括依照无线局域网络协议传输文本数据。
9.依照权利要求1的方法,其中广播媒体信号包括用于格式化文本数据显示的指令,并且还包括:
从广播媒体信号中提取指令;以及
通过无线耦合向无线终端传输指令。
10.依照权利要求9的方法,还包括:
在无线终端处接收文本数据和指令;
使用指令格式化文本数据;以及
在无线终端上显示已格式化的文本数据。
11.依照权利要求9的方法,其中指令依照JAVA语言、BREW语言和无线应用协议语言中的至少一种来定义格式化文本数据的显示。
12.依照权利要求1的方法,还包括:
在无线终端处接收表示电话号码的文本数据;
在无线终端上显示文本数据;
感测用户对已显示文本数据的选择;以及
响应于感测到用户的选择而从无线终端拨打所选的文本数据所表示的电话号码。
13.一种用来显示广播媒体信号中嵌入的文本数据的方法,该方法包括:
在广播媒体接收器处接收广播媒体信号,该广播媒体信号包括文本数据;
从广播媒体信号中提取文本数据;
通过无线耦合向无线终端传输文本数据;
在无线终端处接收文本数据;
在无线终端上显示文本数据;
感测用户对显示的文本数据的选择;
响应于感测到用户的选择而从无线终端通过无线耦合向广播媒体接收器传输记录命令;以及
响应于记录命令而将广播媒体信号的至少一部分记录在非易失性介质上。
14.一种广播媒体接收器,包括:
接收广播媒体信号的接收器电路,该广播媒体信号包括文本数据;
从广播媒体信号中提取文本数据的文本译码器;
确定所述文本数据是否表示电话号码的比较器电路;
发送器,其响应于比较器电路确定文本数据表示电话号码而通过无线耦合向无线终端传输文本数据,使得无线终端接收文本数据,并且响应于所述比较器电路确定出文本数据表示电话号码而按照计划将表示电话号码的文本数据存入电话簿中。
15.依照权利要求14的广播媒体接收器,其中接收器电路接收广播媒体信号中的电视信号。
16.依照权利要求15的广播媒体接收器,其中:
接收器电路接收广播媒体信号中的视频信号,以及
文本译码器提取与视频信号关联的闭合字幕文本数据。
17.依照权利要求14的广播媒体接收器,其中接收器电路接收广播媒体信号中的音频信号。
18.依照权利要求14的广播媒体接收器,其中文本译码器从广播媒体信号中提取逻辑网络地址。
19.依照权利要求14的广播媒体接收器,其中发送器被配置成依照蓝牙无线协议传输文本数据。
20.依照权利要求14的广播媒体接收器,其中发送器被配置成依照蜂窝通信协议传输文本数据。
21.依照权利要求14的广播媒体接收器,其中发送器被配置成依照无线局域网络协议传输文本数据。
22.依照权利要求14的广播媒体接收器,其中该指令依照JAVA语言、BREW语言和无线应用协议语言中的至少一种来定义文本数据的格式化。
