Abstract

Description
本发明申请与2001年4月20日提交的题为“具有扣锁扣锁帽盖的混合式板紧固件”的美国临时专利申请号60/284,902相关联,本发明的优先权日应为2001年4月20日。
技术领域
本发明涉及固定于电路板的板紧固件。尤其是涉及一种具有用ABS塑胶等材料制成的模制螺帽的板紧固件。更具体地说,本发明涉及揭示在美国专利申请号09/739,689题为“快速压扣式板紧固件”的一种板紧固件。该美国专利援引在此供参考。
背景技术
常常有这样的情况,一种混合型板紧固件,也就是说,螺钉部分有一个模制上去的塑胶螺帽以便于操作的那种混合型板紧固件,需要用焊接方法焊接到一块印刷电路板(PCB)上。然而,此时产生了这样一个问题,把板紧固件的保持器部分固定到PCB上时,焊接时产生的热量会对用于板紧固件的塑胶部分的材料产生不良的影响。这个问题不仅在于紧固件的保持器要用焊接方法焊到PCB上,而且还在于把保持器附着于基板上需要用高温才行。因此在本技术领域中需要提供一种混合型板紧固件,此紧固件可以用加热方法焊接到或加到一基板上,但不会对塑胶部分产生不良影响。
发明内容
为了满足这一技术方面的需要,设计出了本发明,其中,板紧固件的两个主要部分,即螺帽部分和金属的保持件部分,是在保持件焊到印刷电路板上以及保持件冷却以后再组装在一起的。而螺帽元件是通过它的弹性部分的快速扣合作用装到已焊接好的保持器上的。因为螺帽在保持件焊接时是离开焊接时所产生的热量的,它不会受到热的影响。因此本发明通过它的结构提供了一种独特的快速扣合方法,此结构只要用很小的力就可以用手插入或用自动设备插入,以使紧固件可以在保持件焊接到印刷电路板上后很容易地安装在一保持器上而不会损伤印刷电路板。已有技术的混合式板紧固件组装时需要用很大的力,此力有可能严重损伤印刷电路板以及需要价格较高的安装设备及安装工具,而本发明的螺帽在组装到本发明的保持件上时只要用很低的组装力从而避免了这些问题。
更具体地说,本发明的申请人发明了一种两件式的板紧固件,它包括一可以保持或扣住螺钉的筒形金属保持件。此保持件有一沿着它的顶边沿倒角的顶部凸缘,一沿着它的外表面近似地位于其长度的中部的圆周隆起部分以及一在底部的基座。两个环绕其圆周的直径减小了的凹谷区域位于保持件的外表面上。第一个凹谷区域位于倒角顶凸缘和隆起区域之间,第二个凹谷区域位于隆起区域及基座之间。螺钉包括一带螺纹的杆部和一塑胶螺帽,塑胶螺帽上有纵向延伸弹性指状啮合件,啮合在保持件的外表面上以夹住螺钉。螺钉可以夹住在两个稳定位置:一个是伸出位置,一个是缩进位置。就在这些位置上指状件占据着两个凹谷区域之一的位置。保持件最好是刚性地通过把保持件底部处的基座凸缘焊接到板的顶表面而固定于电路板上。在焊接过程中,所述杆部从凸缘轴向地向下延伸到处于印刷电路板的一孔中,当螺钉处于伸出位置时,螺钉的带螺纹的部分延伸超过保持件的杆部。
将被捕获的板紧固件组装于印刷电路板的方法包括这样的步骤:把捕获的紧固件保持件的轴向延伸的杆部置于印刷电路板的一个安装孔内,把保持件焊接于印刷电路板上,使保持件冷却,通过将螺帽快速搭扣在保持件的外表面的方法把包括塑胶螺帽的可缩进螺钉元件固定到保持件上。
在另一个实施例中,板紧固件包括一基本上是圆筒形的、在底部有一基座凸缘的保持件。一位于保持件通孔的顶部的面向内的凸缘,它包括一位于顶部起导入作用的斜面,以及一在下侧的很陡的角度。螺钉有一带螺纹的杆部和一固定于它的头部的塑胶帽盖。在带螺纹的区域的顶部,有一个可变形的环位于螺杆的周围,松弛时,环有一大于保持件通孔凸缘的内径的直径,在螺钉缩进时,环啮合凸缘的下侧,从而保持住螺钉。
申请人因此设计出了一种独特的两件混合式板紧固件,它具有一种结构和一种安装方法,这种结构和方法可以允许板紧固件在焊接到印刷电路板上时既不会损伤紧固件,也不会损伤印刷电路板。本发明的其他目的和优点通过下面的图式及对实施例的叙述而对本发明技术领域中的熟练人士变得更为清楚。

具体实施方式
请参阅图1,图中示出了本发明的主要部件的装配程式或步骤。预塑件或钎焊焊剂3先加在筒形保持件4的基座处凸缘15下面的印刷电路板(PCB)上。在波焊或热空气焊时,杆部11插入印刷电路板的孔2中,基座凸缘15设置在印刷电路板的上表面,以提供垂直对齐,并增加与印刷电路板的接触面积。在波焊或热空气焊结束后,保持件就永久性地固定在印刷电路板5上。在印刷电路板和保持器件冷却后,螺帽元件6通过将带螺纹的端部插入保持件顶部中并把它向下推而被固定在保持件中。当螺帽被往下推时,在螺帽上的塑胶指状件7向外偏置并快速扣定在经倒角的顶部凸缘13上。
请参阅图2,图中示出了本发明的保持件部分。它包括了不少新的特征,可以允许按照上述的方法把它安装进印刷电路板中。在保持件4底部的一杆部11从凸缘部15伸出,并用以插入印刷电路板的孔中使保持件定位。沿着保持件顶部边缘的一倒角的顶部凸缘13的作用是为螺帽上的向内偏置弹性指状件提供一成角度的引入表面14。一后侧表面12的作用是限制螺帽在缩进的方向脱开。隆起部分的最大的直径处可以进一步包括一平的部分16,即沿着保持件纵向轴线的圆筒形表面。
现请参阅图3a及3b,它们分别示出了螺钉缩进和伸出的情况。沿着位于其顶部和底部端之间的保持件侧部的一隆起部分20抵靠在螺帽6的指状件上以将螺帽偏置入在伸出或缩进位置的凹谷区域中。此外,保持件的隆起部分可以包括一平的部分如图2所示,从而使螺帽可以处于延伸及缩进位置之间的中间不被偏置的位置。在图3a中,螺帽6的指状件7的尖端部占据着在保持件顶部紧挨倒角顶部凸缘13的下面的凹谷部19,此凹谷部把螺帽保持在缩进位置。如图3b所示,当螺帽6被进一步向下推时,在保持件基座处的紧挨在凸缘15上面的凹谷部18捕捉住了向内偏置的弹性指状件7而把螺钉元件保持在伸出的位置,在该位置,螺钉的端部延伸得超出保持件的杆部。应予理解的是,该保持件的侧部可以不仅有两个凹谷部,而是可以按需要设置多个凹谷部,以提供多个螺帽相对于保持件稳定的纵向位置。
现请参阅图4a及4b,图4a及4b示出本发明的另一个实施例。其中,具有螺钉捕捉在缩进和伸出位置上与第一个实施例是不同的装置。在此实施例中,紧固件的螺钉部分被捕捉在保持件中是通过一面向内的凸缘23实现的。此凸缘23在保持件的通孔的顶部提供了一减小的直径。因此,该通孔为螺钉螺纹提供了一不大的间隙。凸缘23的尺寸限制了一柔性橡胶环21,此柔性橡胶环21装在或者制造在螺帽元件的最后一个螺纹上,如图所示。如同第一个实施例一样,螺帽是在保持件永久性地固定在印刷电路板上之后插入保持器的,但是,在这个实施例中,没有外倒角顶部凸缘提供快速扣锁功能来把螺钉捕捉在缩进位置。在此第二实施例中,当橡胶环21变形并通过在通孔顶部的面向内的凸缘23时,螺钉元件卡锁入保持件。橡胶环的形状与一在凸缘23顶部的引入斜面协同而提供一低的插入力,而一在凸缘底侧的陡角则要求高的退出力,从而保持住或拴住了螺钉。

Claims (14)
1.一种两件式板紧固件,其特征在于,它包括:
一基本上呈筒形的保持件,该保持件包括一沿其外表面顶部边缘的顶部凸缘,一轴向通孔,以及一在其底部的基座;
一沿着保持件外表面的圆周隆起区域,此区域在沿保持件长度的大致的中心处;
两个沿保持件外表面的直径减小了的凹谷区域,第一凹谷区域位于所述顶部凸缘及所述隆起区域之间,所述第二凹谷区域位于所述隆起区域和所述基座之间;
一螺钉位于所述通孔内,螺钉具有一带螺纹的杆部和一塑胶螺帽,塑胶螺帽固定于螺钉头部,所述螺帽具有可与所述保持件外表面啮合的弹性可变形装置,用以将所述螺钉捕获在所述保持件内。
