Description

用于定位以及访问数字式存储图象的方法和系统
本发明涉及提供图象产品和服务。特别是涉及存储和检索数字式图象的产品、方法以及系统。
在典型的摄影处理过程中，一台相机要曝光一卷摄影用胶卷并将该胶卷拿到照相洗印暗房中并在那里显影从中产生硬拷贝照片。随后，将显影的胶卷和复制照片送回到用户那里。用户一旦接收到这些复制照片，出于为自己或为了与别人分享的目的而经常需要得到额外的复制照片。
一般地，上述目的是这样实现的：通过将这些硬拷贝照片拿给另一个人或通过使用返回的底片来获得额外的照片。希望使用底片来获得与所拍摄在其上的原始图象一样最好的图象。但是，在用户那里需要进行大量的工作，首先他要将底片拿到照相洗印完成商店以定制额外的照片，随后需要花时间来完成定单表格。由于如果拿到胶卷时已经过了很长时间，因此，经常会弄错或遗失底片，那时用户必须使用硬拷贝照片来获得额外的照片。

参考图14，其上示出了根据本发明所产生的系统16。在所示的特定实施例中，系统16包括图象获取和复印部分62。特别地，该图象获取和复印部分62一般被称为照相洗印完成部分。在所示实施例中，被曝光的一卷胶卷64或单个使用的包含一卷胶卷的相机65将被送到图象获取和复印部分62中进行硬拷贝照片的显影以及冲印。在一般处理过程中，一些被曝光而未显影的胶卷64将被送到胶卷预先准备站65，在那里将胶卷分类。然后胶卷经过胶卷处理器66在其上将图象显印。此后，将胶卷送到数字图象扫描器68中，在那里将所包含的图象进行数字化记录。将数字化记录的图象发送到计算机70的存储器71中，在那里将这些图象与特定用户定单联系上。服务器73提供用于与互联网75进行通信。还可以通过额外的扫描设备72来获得胶卷上的其它信息。例如，可以读出在胶卷上所提供的经光学或磁化编码的信息并将这些信息发送到计算机70中使之与相应的用户定单相联系。作为典型的多数用户定单，给要被显影的一卷照相胶卷提供一个定单信封上。从该信封上可以获得恰当的指令信息以及与该用户定单有关的信息。例如，该用户定单信封可以包括人可读或机器可读的附加信息，该附加信息还可以给所预定产品或服务上的洗印设备提供指令，其中包括如前所述的并在图1-13中所示的提供复印上信息18的指令。因此，可以将这些图象进行数字扫描并将其存储在数字图象存储位置上的用户帐户中。在所示的这个实施例中，该过程是通过将所预定的数字图象记录文件经互联网75传送到网络照相服务提供者82那里来实现的。
将数字扫描的这些图象发送到用于打印诸如图14中所示的硬拷贝照片10的打印机84中。为了清楚起见，将参考硬拷贝照片10，可以理解的是，在图3-13中所公开的其它硬拷贝照片可以替代硬拷贝照片10。所示实施例中的打印机84是一种能接收被扫描图象数字记录文件的数字式打印机。然而，诸如光学打印机这样的任何一种合适的打印机也可用于硬拷贝照片10的打印。如前所述的打印机84使信息18直接被提供在硬拷贝照片10上，或提供在可用于硬拷贝照片10上的分离标签20上。最好地，为了避免混乱，希望由数字打印机84或第二备份打印机86将信息18直接打印在硬拷贝照片10的背面14上。可替换地，硬拷贝照片10可以进入其它设备88中，在那里，一个标签打印机将打印适当的标签20并且将该标签放置硬拷贝照片10背面14上。在这点上，重要的是，将与诸如适当标签20这样的所用标签20一致的硬拷贝照片10放置在相应的硬拷贝照片10上。
可以将信息18提供在用户定单的每个硬拷贝照片35上或是提供在具有若干图片16的单独索引照片10上。如果将信息提供在索引照片上，就不需要在相同用户定单的每个照片上提供标签20，这样可以避免在为用户定单中的每个照片提供标签时的额外步骤和费用。但是，根据用户需要，可以将信息18印在相同或所有的照片上。将包括其背面带有信息的硬拷贝照片10的完成的照片发送给用户。然后，该用户或其它该硬拷贝照片10的拥有者可以使用这些其上带有信息18的照片来访问网络照相服务提供者82上的数字存储图象，如同随后将要讨论的那样。
网络照相服务提供者82有一个能够与互联网75进行联系的服务器90。该服务器90与管理这些数字图象的计算机92相连并接收相关信息。提供大容量存储器设备94以便于存储数字图象和相关信息。从照相洗印完成器62发送来的数字图象被安排在其中可以存储这些数字图象的位置上。还可以存储合适的附加相关信息。例如，这些图象将与一个特定用户帐户有关以及一个合适的用户口令。因此，用户可以使用正确的用户口令来访问该帐户。此外，该用户可以授权和/或请求附加服务。例如，但不局限于此，该用户可以请求长期存储并允许由其它人经互联网75来访问这些图象。在这种情况中，可以将一个访问口令与该用户帐户相关。该访问口令可以与在信息18中所提供的口令提示相关。该用户可以对于不同的个体使用不同的访问口令。该用户还可以允许仅将对于某些图象的访问限制到某个人。这是通过当预定初始照相洗印完成定单时由用户所提供的开始预定指令来实现的，或随后通过使用个人计算机96或其它用户可以访问的通信设备经互联网75来访问用户帐户实现的。如果该用户是第一次使用该项服务，可以建立一个初始帐户。但是，如果该用户以前使用过该服务，那么可以在例如初始定单(信封)上提供其它信息来将随后的定单与特定用户帐户相联系。可以经照相洗印完成器62或网络照相服务提供者82来放置对于这项服务的持续定单。
代替个人计算机，可以使用照相亭(kiosk)98来将用户定单放置到照相洗印完成器62或网络照相服务提供者82上。照相亭98可用于确定与要显影的用户胶卷相关的产品和/或服务。该照相亭98还可用于访问所存储的图象，如同随后将要讨论的那样。在公开的申请09/492063(摘要79961/F-P)；09/491641(摘要79962/F-P)以及09/492062(摘要79985/F-P)中描述了这种照相亭的一个例子。该照相亭98还可以由别人使用来访问数字存储的图象，如同随后将要讨论的那样。
还可以通过各种其它远程设备100和102经一个合适的互联网服务提供者104和96来访问这些数字存储的图象。当然可以理解的是，只要希望就可以提供任何数量的远程设备或互联网服务提供者。在所示的特定实施例中，该远程设备是一部电话。位于硬拷贝照片/卡40上的信息18可用于访问这些图象。电话按键可以用于使该电话与其中可以存储数字图象的互联网服务提供者82相连并且进行适当的群体订购物品和/或服务的登录。如果该设备100包括一个显示设备，则可以观看被访问的图象以便于使用设备100的人可以从视觉上确定所选的内容。
远程设备102示出了如何访问位于互联网服务提供者82上图象的另一个例子。在这个特定设备102中，它可以包括一个用来与电视相连从而经有线TV线来获得电视台节目的机顶盒(有线TV盒)。设备102可用于访问互联网服务提供者82，并且可以使用相关电视来观看所访问的图象。此外，可以使用电视来接收视频和音频指令或来自互联网服务提供者82的选项。
可以由用户使用计算机96来订购所希望的物品和/或服务。另外，使用计算机96的该用户可以访问其帐户并可以提供用于允许由第三方访问的适当授权以及提供用于用户口令和访问口令的适当的口令保护。可以在将定单放置在照相洗印完成器62之前或之后进行上述工作。
在完成带有硬拷贝照片10的照相洗印完成定单之后，将包括硬拷贝照片10的定单发送到用户那里。如果该用户以前请求过将硬拷贝照片10直接发送给第三方，则将这样去完成。带有统一资源定位器的硬拷贝照片10可被用来允许通过使用包括其上提供有信息的卡来对用户帐户进行直接以及快速的访问。通过任何一种远程设置的设备96、98、100以及102来获得所述访问。
参考图15，其上详细示出了照相亭100。该照相亭100包括一个合适的读出设备105，该读出设备可以读出条形码、磁条或位于如同参考图1-13所公开以及描述过的硬拷贝照片10上的其它机器可读形式。在具有如图12和13所示RF芯片56的卡的情况中，该卡只需要被带到该读出设备105的范围内。因此，拿出如图6-13中所示硬拷贝照片10的用户可以将该照片在读出设备105上刷一下(或，如果使用RF芯片则将其穿过第二读出设备107的范围)。照相亭100将识别代码并自动执行与其中存储图象地方的进行合适的通信链接，从而允许对图象存储站点进行即刻访问而不需要另外进入方式或对于使用该照相亭的人而言不需要另外的工作了。该照相亭还包括一个显示屏109和日期输入设备112，在所示的实施例中，该日期输入设备是一个键盘。随意地，照相亭98还可以有麦克风113以及扬声器114。由于访问口令一般不印在其上，第三方如果要访问只能使用该口令。使用口令提示给个人提供输入正确口令的能力并且随后允许第三方进行由用户授权给他的任何事。在钱数以及功能分配给个体的情况中，该个体可以使用该卡进行物品的订购和/或可用的相关服务。
在上述实施例中，所示出的在远程互联网服务提供者那里电子存储的这些图象其原始形式是一卷胶卷。但是，本发明不局限于此。可以从任何来源中获得这些图象的数字记录文件。如图14所示，可以从CD106、计算机盘片108、数字相机110或从诸如计算机96这样的远程计算机中获得这些数字图象。
在上述系统60中，网络服务提供者82是作为来自照相洗印完成器62的单独一部分示出的。可以理解的是，它们可以是被设置在相同地方或分开设置的相同部分。在这种情况中，服务器和/或计算机可以如愿或适当地组合。
现在将简述系统60的使用情况。首先，用户提供要被存储的图象。该图象可以是被发送到照相洗印完成器中的一卷胶卷形式，或被以电子形式或数字形式发送给照相洗印完成器62中的图象形式。合适的指令被提供给电子存储图象以及在那里制造包括某些图象的硬拷贝照片10的照相洗印完成器中。将制造带有信息18的硬拷贝照片0。其中也包括了常用的一些合适指令。用户可以要求将该硬拷贝照片返还给他或她，或者将该照片发送给第三方。如果将该照片直接发送给第三方，则具有所提供指令信息的这个合适卡要告诉作为发送对象的第三方如何使用这个硬拷贝照片10。另外，可以简单地直接将这个附加信息提供在照片10上。然后该硬拷贝照片10的接收者可以使用该卡来获得对于远程存储站点上图象的电子访问。如果该用户接收到该硬拷贝照片10，则可以由该用户来使用它或亲自将其送给第三方。
用户可以通过计算机96来访问他的/她的帐户并允许对一些或所有图象进行电子访问。除了上述的之外，可以将访问局限于某些特殊部分。另外，用户还可以授权给用户帐户借记预定数量。该借记数量可以与在硬拷贝照片10上所提供的钱数相同或不同。接收方可以使用诸如在照相亭100上所提供的读出设备105来获得自动并且快速的访问。一旦个人获得对于站点的访问，则这个人可以做他能够做的事情。
在上述实施例中，在照相洗印完成器62中产生该硬拷贝照片10。有可能在用户家庭打印机上制造通常具有低分辨率图象的硬拷贝照片10。对于费用而言合适的数据可以下载到家庭计算机中，该数据包括用于将信息18打印在照片上的数据。可以由用户来使用家庭打印的文件或将其发送给第三方以便于使用。可以有这种情况：扫描仪可以扫描信息并获得合适的统一资源定位器信息从而允许计算机能自动访问网络照相服务提供者82中的高分辨率数字存储图象。可以在下载图象的同时下载实现上述过程所需的软件。
可以理解的是，在本发明中可以进行各种改变和变型。例如，在提供人类和机器可读形式的信息18时，该信息可以是以在图象中隐藏某些信息的形式来提供。在公开在美国专利5859920、5905819以及5835639中并在这里作为参考的相应美国专利中公开并讨论了这种在图象中存储和隐藏信息的技术。另外，替代在照相亭中具有用于信息读出和/或机器可读代码的读出器，用户可以在家中拥有一台扫描仪，在家里就可以扫描图象并使用所提供合适的算法来识别由第三方使用来再次访问的条形码中的统一资源定位器并将这些图象定位在图象存储设备中。如同当前在互联网75上对于许多程序所做的那样，可以下载用于翻译被扫描条形码所用的程序。另外，这样还可以允许原始用户具有可以将其上带有合适条形码的索引照片的数字数据发送到第三方的能力，该索引照片然后可以在用户这里打印出并随后由用户发送给任何第三方。因此，可以通过用户产生专用索引照片从而允许对于某些识别出图象的访问。此后，接收该硬拷贝照片10的第三方可以直接访问数字存储的图象。

Claims (10)

1．具有打印面和背面的一种硬拷贝照片，所述打印面上有一副图象，在所述照片上提供位置信息，该位置信息能标识其上具有可电子访问的所述图象数字记录的电子位置。
2．根据权利要求1的硬拷贝照片，其中在所述硬拷贝照片的背面上放置所述信息。
3．根据权利要求1的硬拷贝照片，其中所述信息包括统一资源定位器。
4．一种用于在硬拷贝照片上设置图象数字记录文件的系统，该系统包括：
一个数字存储设备，用于存储有关至少一位用户的数字图象，所述数字存储设备可以被电子访问并且具有与之相关的统一资源定位器；以及
一个远程访问设备，用于使用所述统一资源定位器访问所述数字存储设备。
5．根据权利要求6的系统，另外包括其上印有一个统一资源定位器的硬拷贝照片，可以由所述远程访问设备读出该硬拷贝照片并允许自动访问所述用户的所述数字记录文件。
6．根据权利要求5的系统，其中，提供有一台扫描仪，该扫描仪用于从图象存储元件中获得图象并将其发送到图象存储设备中并使一特定用户与所述存储图象相关。
7．根据权利要求4的系统，提供有一台打印机，用于打印在所述图象存储中所提供的所述图象，还提供有第二打印设备，用于提供用于识别的信息并允许访问所述图象存储设备上的所述数字存储图象。
8．一种将存储在数字存储设备中的数字化图象定位的方法，该方法包括这些步骤：
将唯一的标识符附加到其上具有所述图象的硬拷贝照片上；
在与所述数字存储设备中的所述数字化图象位置有关的数据库中登记所述唯一的标识符，将所述唯一的标识符与用于访问所述数字存储设备中的所述数字化图象电子地址相联系。
9．根据权利要求8的方法，其中所述唯一标识符包括除了所述图象位置之外的附加信息。
10．一种用于存储和检索数字图象的方法，该方法包括这些步骤：
从图象存储元件中获得图象的数字记录；
产生包括所述数字图象的数字数据文件；
将一用户与所述数字文件相联系；
所述数字文件具有一个与之相关的可以允许对所述数字图象进行电子访问的唯一统一资源定位器；
提供所述图象的硬拷贝照片，所述图象具有用于识别对于所述数字图象访问的所述统一资源定位器。
