背景技术
脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜经常用于要求一定的撕裂强度,耐磨性,光学清晰度和柔性性能的应用中。这些应用的范围可从保护机动车辆的漆到用于飞行器透明件中的层乃至到用于防弹玻璃(ballistic glazing)中的层。
虽然脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜可用于诸多应用中,但是一些热塑性聚氨酯膜的一个缺点是它们不能经受住某些产品制造过程中的加工/处置条件(例如溅射涂覆,热空气干燥),这是由于它们缺乏力学耐久性。换言之,这些热塑性聚氨酯膜展现出软度和低模量,这使得它们不适于制造这些产品。由于它们的固有缺点,制造商已经尝试使用芳族热塑性聚氨酯膜代替脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜。然而,不同于脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜,这些芳族膜具有差的耐UV性以及高色度。

具体实施方式
脂族聚氨酯树脂组合物
本发明涉及脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂,其可经受住在某些产品的制造过程中经常遇到的加工/处置条件。因此,本发明涉及脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物,其包含:(a)异氰酸酯化合物;(b)异氰酸酯反应性化合物;(c)扩链化合物;和(d)一种或多种添加剂;并且其中在该热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物形成厚度为0.1mm的脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜之后,该脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜具有:(x)在25℃下至少800MPa的模量,和(y)小于2%的雾度值。
组分(a):异氰酸酯化合物
可用作形成热塑性聚氨酯材料的反应性成分的合适的多异氰酸酯化合物包括脂族、芳脂族和/或芳族多异氰酸酯。异氰酸酯化合物通常具有结构R-(NCO)x,其中x为至少2,并且R包含芳族、脂族或者组合的芳族/脂族基团。
可用作组分(a)的合适的脂族异氰酸酯化合物包括六亚甲基二异氰酸酯(“HDI”),异佛尔酮二异氰酸酯(“IPDI”),亚丁基二异氰酸酯,三甲基六亚甲基二异氰酸酯,二(异氰酸环己基)甲烷(“H12MDI”),异氰酸甲基-1,8-辛烷二异氰酸酯,1,4-环己烷二异氰酸酯(“CDI”)或者它们的组合。

组分(a)可占基于组分(a)-(d)的总重量计10重量%至70重量%(例如30%至60%或者40%至60%),。
组分(b):异氰酸酯反应性化合物
任何已知的有机化合物(每分子含有至少两个异氰酸酯反应性结构部分)可用作异氰酸酯反应性化合物,来用作形成聚氨酯涂层的反应性成分。分子量为60至10000(例如300至10000或者小于5000)、名义羟基官能度为至少2和羟基当量为30至2000(例如30至1500或者30至800)的多元醇化合物或者其混合物可用作组分(b)。
可用作组分(b)的合适的多元醇的实例包括聚醚多元醇、诸如通过将环氧烷加成到起始剂中所制备的那些,其每分子含有2至8个活性氢原子。在一些实施方案中,前述起始剂包括二醇,甘油,三羟甲基丙烷,三乙醇胺,季戊四醇,山梨醇,蔗糖,乙二胺,乙醇胺,二乙醇胺,苯胺,甲苯二胺(例如2,4甲苯二胺和2,6甲苯二胺),多亚甲基多亚苯基多胺,N-烷基亚苯基二胺,邻氯苯胺,对氨基苯胺,二氨基萘或者它们的组合。可用于形成聚醚多元醇的合适的环氧烷包括环氧乙烷,环氧丙烷和环氧丁烷或者它们的组合。可用作组分(b)的其它合适的多元醇化合物包括曼尼希多元醇,其名义羟基官能度为至少2并且每分子具有至少1个仲胺或者叔胺氮原子。
在某些实施方案中,所用的多元醇是在多元醇的聚合结构中包含环氧丙烷(“PO”),环氧乙烷(“EO”)或者PO和EO基团或者结构部分的组合的聚醚多元醇。这些PO和EO单元可在整个聚合结构中无规排列或者以嵌段排列。在某些实施方案中,多元醇的EO含量为基于多元醇的总重量计0重量%至100重量%(例如50重量%至100%重量)。在一些实施方案中,多元醇的PO含量为基于多元醇的总重量计100重量%至0重量%(例如100重量%至50%重量)。因此,在一些实施方案中,多元醇的EO含量可为多元醇的99重量%至33重量%,而PO含量为多元醇的1重量%至66重量%。此外,在一些实施方案中,EO和/或PO单元可位于多元醇的聚合结构的端部或者位于多元醇的聚合骨架结构的内部中。合适的聚醚多元醇包括聚(氧乙烯氧丙烯)二醇和三醇,其通过将环氧丙烷和环氧乙烷顺序加成到二官能或者三官能起始剂上来获得,这是本领域已知的。在某些实施方案中,组分(b)包含前述二醇或者三醇,或者替代地,组分(b)可包含这些二醇和三醇的混合物。

可用作组分(b)的聚碳酸酯二醇包括通过甲醛与多元醇诸如二醇化合物(例如二甘醇,三甘醇或者己二醇(1,6-己二醇),1,10-癸二醇,1,4-丁二醇或者它们的组合)反应来制备的那些化合物。可使用的其它聚碳酸酯二醇包括碳酸二甲酯或者碳酸二苯酯与多元醇的反应产物。
合适的多元醇另外的实例包括羟基封端的聚硫醚、聚酰胺、聚酯酰胺、聚缩醛、聚烯烃、聚硅氧烷和简单二醇诸如乙二醇、丁二醇、二甘醇、三甘醇、丙二醇、二丙二醇、三丙二醇和它们的混合物。
含活性氢的材料可含有其它异氰酸酯反应性材料,诸如但不限于多胺和聚硫醇。合适的多胺包括伯胺和仲胺封端的聚醚,芳族二胺诸如二乙基甲苯二胺等,芳族多胺和它们的组合。
组分(b)可占基于组分(a)-(d)的总重量计30重量%至90重量%(例如30%至70%或者30%至50%)。
组分(c):扩链化合物
可用作扩链化合物的合适的化合物包括低分子量二醇和双官能低分子量二醇醚。合适的低分子量二醇的实例包括乙二醇、1,2-丙二醇、1,3-丙二醇、1,2-丁二醇、1,3-丁二醇、1,4-丁二醇、1,5-戊二醇、1,6-己二醇、二甘醇、二丙二醇、新戊二醇、3-甲基-1,5-戊二醇、2,2-二乙基-1,3-丙二醇、2-正丁基-2-乙基-1,3-丙二醇、2,2,4-三甲基-1,3-戊二醇、2-乙基-1,3-己二醇、1,4-环己烷二甲醇、1,4-双(2-羟基乙氧基)苯或者它们的组合。
组分(c)可占基于组分(a)-(d)的总重量计1重量%至20重量%(例如5%至15%或者10%至15%)。
组分(d):添加剂
可用作一种或多种添加剂的合适的化合物包括受阻胺光稳定化合物,抗氧化化合物或者它们的组合。
可用于热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物的合适的受阻胺光稳定剂化合物包括来自TINUVIN族的受阻胺光稳定剂的添加剂,可从BASF获得(包括获得自其他制造商的结构上等同的添加剂)。
可用于热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物的合适的抗氧化化合物包括来自IRGANOX,IRGAFOS族的抗氧化化合物的添加剂,可从BASF获得(包括获得自其他制造商的结构上等同的添加剂),或者它们的组合。
组分(d)可为基于组分(a)-(d)的总重量计等于或者小于2重量%(例如0.5%至1.5%或者0.2%至1%)。
制备脂族热塑性聚氨酯产物的方法
本文公开的脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜由脂族热塑性聚氨酯组合物形成,其包含:(a)异氰酸酯化合物;(b)异氰酸酯反应性化合物;(c)扩链化合物;和(d)一种或多种添加剂。
在某些实施方案中,上面所列的组分可全部同时引入反应容器中。在这些实施方案中,脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂将在反应容器中存在的其它添加剂存在下原位形成。要注意的是这些其它添加剂诸如上述紫外吸收剂将不被引入到热塑性聚氨酯树脂的聚合物结构中。相反,这些添加剂将仅存在于热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物的基质中。
在其它实施方案中,反应性组分(即,用于形成脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂的组分(a)-(c))可在引入上述其它添加剂之前首先加入到反应容器中。在一些实施方案中,脂族聚氨酯树脂可在引入添加剂之前部分地形成。

当使用本发明的脂族聚氨酯组合物来形成厚度为0.1mm的脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜时,该膜具有:(x)在25℃下至少800MPa的模量;(y)小于2%的雾度值;和(z)至少60的邵氏D硬度。在一些实施方案中,在60℃下的模量为至少50MPa。
脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜的模量可使用MOD-TEST来测试。MOD-TEST由以下步骤组成:(1)将厚度为0.1mm的热塑性聚氨酯膜(例如本文公开的脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜)插入到可从TA Instruments,Inc.获得的Q800动态机械分析仪中;和(2)通过将分析仪设置到拉伸模式使用Q800动态机械分析仪来测量热塑性聚氨酯膜的模量。
脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜的雾度可使用HAZE-TEST来测试。HAZE-TEST由以下步骤组成:(1)将厚度为0.1mm的热塑性聚氨酯膜(例如本文公开的脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜)插入到可从BYK-Gardner GmbH获得的HAZE-gard Plus的HAZE-gard Plus雾度计中;和(2)使用HAZE-gard Plus雾度计来测量热塑性聚氨酯膜的雾度,如ASTM D1003所概述的。
脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜的硬度可使用HARDNESS-TEST来测试。HARDNESS-TEST由以下步骤组成:(1)将热塑性聚氨酯组合物(例如本文所公开的脂族热塑性聚氨酯组合物)模制成厚度为3mm的圆盘形状;(2)将模制的圆盘插入可从Pacific Transducer Corp.获得的307L型硬度计硬度测试仪中;和(3)使用307L型硬度计硬度测试仪来测量模制圆盘的硬度,如ASTM D2240所概述的。

组分:
异氰酸酯:H12MDI,可从Covestro AG.获得
多元醇1:Eternacoll UH-200聚碳酸酯二醇,可从UBE Industries,Ltd.获得
多元醇2:PTMEG二醇,可从Invista S.A.R.L.获得
多元醇3:聚己内酯二醇,可从Ingevity Corp.获得
多元醇4:聚己二酸丁二醇酯,可从Polyurethanes Specialties Co.获得
扩链剂:1,4-BDO,可从LyondellBassell Industries N.V.获得
添加剂包:可从BASF Corp.获得的抗氧化剂和可从BASF Corp.获得的UV稳定剂的混合物
实施例1
本发明所述的脂族热塑性聚氨酯材料通过一步法,通过将异氰酸酯,多元醇,扩链剂和添加剂包在反应容器中混合合成。在反应混合物达到100℃后,将其倾倒到特氟龙里衬的模具中,并且设定在23℃持续2天。然后使产物粒化和造粒。将粒料挤出成0.1mm厚度的膜用于物理性质测试。涉及实施例1的另外的信息可在下表1中找到。
对比实施例1-3
对比热塑性聚氨酯材料通过一步法,通过将异氰酸酯、多元醇、扩链剂和添加剂包在反应容器中混合合成。在反应混合物达到100℃后,将其倾倒到特氟龙里衬的模具中,并且设定在23℃持续2天。然后使产物粒化和造粒。将粒料挤出成0.1mm厚度的膜用于物理性质测试。涉及对比实施例1-3的另外的信息可在下表1中找到。对比实施例1-3是目前用于氨基甲酸酯膜行业中的代表性脂族热塑性聚氨酯材料。

膜的模量使用来自TA Instruments的Q800动态机械分析仪以拉伸模式测定。膜的雾度根据ASTM D1003使用可从BYK获得的HAZE-gard Plus机器测量。硬度根据ASTM D2240测量。
结果
在实施例1中,二异氰酸酯和扩链剂的合计量(在聚氨酯化学中通常称作硬嵌段含量)占总配方的60重量%。对比实施例2和3的硬嵌段含量与实施例1相同,而对比实施例1具有稍低的硬嵌段含量。由DMA测量获得的实施例1在25℃下和60℃下的储能模量(E’)比对比实施例1、2和3高了几倍或更高。同时,实施例1保持了良好的透明度,其中雾度小于2%。很显然在配方中使用多元醇1和高的硬嵌段含量产生了非常刚性的材料,其是更机械耐久性的。对该结果的其它支持可在图1中找到。
Claims (20)
1.脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物,其包含:(a)异氰酸酯化合物;(b)异氰酸酯反应性化合物;(c)扩链化合物;和(d)一种或多种添加剂;并且其中在该热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物形成厚度为0.1mm的脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜之后,该脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜具有:(x)在25℃下至少800MPa的模量,和(y)小于2%的雾度值。
2.根据权利要求1所述的脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物,其中组分(a)以基于组分(a)-(d)的总重量计40重量%至60重量%的量存在。
3.根据权利要求1所述的脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物,其中组分(b)以基于组分(a)-(d)的总重量计等于或者小于40重量%的量存在。
4.根据权利要求1所述的脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物,其中组分(c)以基于组分(a)-(d)的总重量计等于或者小于15重量%的量存在。
5.根据权利要求1所述的脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物,其中组分(d)以基于组分(a)-(d)的总重量计等于或者小于2重量%的量存在。
6.根据权利要求1所述的脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物,其中组分(d)包含抗氧化化合物、UV稳定化合物或者它们的组合。
7.根据权利要求1所述的脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物,其中该聚氨酯组合物是完全反应的和丸状的或者粒状的。
8.根据权利要求1所述的脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物,其中该模量使用MOD-TEST测量,并且该雾度使用HAZE-TEST测量。
9.根据权利要求1所述的脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物,其中该热塑性聚氨酯树脂的硬嵌段为50至70。
10.制造脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜的方法,该方法包括:
提供脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物,其包含:(a)异氰酸酯化合物;(b)异氰酸酯反应性化合物;(c)扩链化合物;和(d)一种或多种添加剂;
由该脂族热塑性聚氨酯树脂组合物形成厚度为0.1mm的脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜,其中该脂族热塑性聚氨酯膜具有:(x)在25℃下至少800MPa的模量,和(y)小于2%的雾度值。
11.根据权利要求10所述的方法,其中组分(a)以基于组分(a)-(d)的总重量计40重量%至60重量%的量存在。
12.根据权利要求10所述的方法,其中组分(b)以基于组分(a)-(d)的总重量计等于或者小于40重量%的量存在。

16.根据权利要求10所述的方法,其中该方法还包括使该聚氨酯组合物完全反应来形成脂族聚氨酯材料,和使聚氨酯材料造粒或者粒化。
17.根据权利要求16所述的方法,使该聚氨酯材料形成聚氨酯膜。
18.根据权利要求17所述的方法,其中形成步骤是挤出过程。
19.根据权利要求10所述的方法,其中该模量使用MOD-TEST测量,并且该雾度使用HAZE-TEST测量。
