Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of machines for spinning plants in which short fibers are processed to obtain yarns wound into bobbins. In particular, the subject of the invention is a roving frame for processing a sliver to obtain a roving wound into bobbins (typically with a drafting machine) for use in a spinning line.
Background
During operation of the roving frame, the sliver travels from the storage container to the drafting device and then to the rotating fin where it is wound into a bobbin.
The drafting device comprises: drawing cylinders, generally three, having a continuous longitudinal extension along the machine; and opposite pressure rollers coupled by pressure on the respective drafting rollers so as to form a plurality of drafting points placed longitudinally side by side.
The drafting rollers are motorized, while the pressure rollers coupled to the respective drafting rollers are rotated by pressure drive.
In order to increase the profits of spinning plants, which involve high initial investment costs for constructing and starting the plant, manufacturers are constantly striving to improve the performance of individual machines.
In the case of roving frames, in addition to the increased automation of the functions, the trend is to develop solutions with a large number of drafting points, in order to increase the hourly productivity of the machine.
However, it has been found experimentally that increasing the drafting point increases the damage to the drafting rollers and the devices used to move the drafting rollers.

Detailed description of the preferred embodiments
With reference to the figures, a roving frame of a spinning line is indicated in its entirety by 1.
Generally, upstream of the roving frame 1 is a drawing machine for producing a drawn sliver fed to the roving frame; the roving frame processes the sliver and produces roving that is wound into bobbins, which are then transported to the spinning frame downstream of the roving frame for further processing.
The roving frame 1 has a storage area 2 located at the back of the machine; in the storage area are stored the fiber strands produced by the drawing machine, which are wound up and stored in a container 4.
Also located in this storage area 2 is a creel 6, consisting of a frame equipped with rollers 8 having a main extension in the longitudinal direction X, generally of hexagonal cross section and generally motorized, and arranged above the containers 4.
The sliver coming out of the container 4 is placed above the roller 8 and fed to the roving frame 1.
The roving frame 1 comprises a machine body comprising a drafting device 10 consisting of a pair of superimposed rollers pressure-engaged with a circumferential rotation speed increasing from upstream to downstream so as to progressively stretch the fiber sliver passing between the coupled rollers.
In particular, the drafting device 10 comprises motorized lower rollers, for example three or four lower rollers, each extending along the roving frame in the longitudinal direction X. Each lower roller cooperates with a number of separate idle upper rollers, which are usually supported in pairs by pressure arms.
Preferably, the pressure arm is pneumatically pushed to ensure pressure coupling between the lower and upper rollers.
Downstream of the drafting device 10, the machine body comprises a rail 20 extending in the longitudinal direction over the entire length of the roving frame to define an upper zone above the rail and a lower zone below.
The rail 20 houses a plurality of necks 22 protruding from a rail base 21 of the rail 20, the necks being organized into two longitudinal rows that are longitudinally offset.
The machine body also includes a plurality of fins 30 disposed in a lower region of each neck 22 and supported by the rails 20. The fins 30 are adapted to be rotated about respective vertical axes by means of a fin motor.
The machine body also comprises a trolley 40, which is arranged in the lower region and carries a plurality of spindles 42, each spindle being placed coaxially with a respective fin 30. The trolley 40 can be moved vertically in an alternating motion for forming the bobbins by means of a first trolley motor.

The fiber sliver from the creel 6 travels through the drafting device 10 and then into the respective neck 22, through which neck 22 the fiber sliver travels into the lower region of the roving frame.
Here, the fiber strands enter the respective fins 30 through the neck 22 and exit from the lower end; the trolley 40 moves in an alternating vertical motion so that the roving is wound on a tube placed on a spindle and forms a bobbin.
Once the tube is formed, it is picked up automatically or manually and transported to the spinning frame for further processing.
Finally, the roving frame comprises an electronic unit for controlling the operation of the entire roving frame, operatively connected to the various components of the roving frame to receive control signals and to send command signals.

In particular, with the solutions of the known art, it has been found that, by increasing the number of drafting points, there is a damage of the gears for transmission between the drafting rollers, in particular with respect to the second drafting roller and the third drafting roller which face the highest torque action.
These gears are small in size and limited in their overall size due to the proximity of the second drafting roller and the third drafting roller.
However, in the solution according to the invention, the second drafting roller and the third drafting roller are segmented, i.e. divided into two parts, thus overcoming this drawback.
According to another advantageous aspect, in the solution according to the invention, the start-up of the drafting rollers is no longer delayed, which in the solutions of the prior art is due to the torsion encountered by these rollers.
